  1. Because I just found this, why not:
  2. The REAL truth about Lady Gaga http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08rfTmKRHfg I guess she couldn't keep her poker face.
  3. In b4 "Ooooh I like how being a passable lounge/jazz piano player makes you supposedly talented." Real marketing genius doesn't exist anymore. I don't see what's clever in throwing away an image for a completely different, in order to achieve bigger payoffs. What IS clever is being able to keep a formula as intact as possible and make it popular. If marketing execs are good as they say they are, they'll be spending time changing people, not the product.
  4. comes to mind, though I think with enough interpretation you can make a nice bass electronica track with it.
  5. My mom's pushing 60 and she's got a variety of tastes, from classic Spanish ballads to Pitbull, and have found her bobbing my head to some trance and dubstep I was playing. Oddly enough I haven't played any OCR music in front of her, but her reaction wouldn't probably be much different. My brother loved Nekofrog's early WIP of King K. Rool's battle and asked that I get it into his iPod, but he's also been into some electronica and like the other OCR mixes I've showned him. But he's big into video games (Nintendo mostly) so it shouldn't come as a big surprise to me.
  6. It was almost 8 years ago so my memory of this place has been fuzzy back then, but I'm almost positive it was in a 2002 issue of EGM where OC Remix was mentioned in a small sidebar. I went to check it out of curiosity and here I am.
  7. That actually seems somewhat inconvenient, as it could get lost in her flood of regular wall posts. The project website still seems to be in progress. In case of no Jade, would bLiNd be better to reach?
  8. Not so fast! We should def. start a dubstep collab sometime.

  9. I'd say most of these meetups are East Coast biased.... I guess the Midwest has no people just like the PS3 has no gaems
  10. Yep, actually, CC Ricers was my original name then I switched and got tired of it and switched back.

I'm a low key poster which makes things more confusing for other people to remember. Why? Because I have no gimmick that I know of. Haha.

  11. Took me a while- then I realized you're that same cool black girl from OT/UnMod

  12. Yeah, I easily beat Seth with Vega (Claw)....VEGA! He could barely dodge my rolling attacks. You just gotta know how to out-cheap the cheap guys. The bonus unlockables for having a SFIV save are underwhelming to say the least. Makes me happy to know my erased SFIV save data never meant crap.
  13. I just realized you're Pirate Queen :-o

  14. Hey, check this out. Now this is how to do a dubstep ReMix...

  15. Bump from the second page... . I can't wait to hear the complete version!
  16. I have a love/hate relationship with many arcade sticks. Mainly for the double-tap movements. Hands by themselves are asymmetrical, and I might need to work my thumb twitching more because double-tapping with a thumb takes more effort for me than using the other four fingers. This makes me less consistent with dashes from the right than from the left. For arcade controls, this isn't much of a problem with the baseball bat types, but it is with the ball-and-stick types.
  17. I second that. This is one of the few Mario 64 songs I have trouble hearing it by memory- I know the sounds, hooks and instruments of the source tune, but it doesn't play out in any particular way. You took the source that sounded flimsy in my head and gave it supports, and it has more structure now. I like the arrangement you have with the leads, they flow well together with the bass and percussion. You give each instrument a good share of time in the mix. The flute section in particular is one of my favorites. Now for the not-so-good stuff- The bass sounds bland when it's not being accompanied by much. Same with the lead at 0:54. It's not very dull but it still sounds flat and dry. Maybe it's not so much the textures, but that some of the instruments can use more stereo expansion. I would like to hear more sections like at 2:33. As a mostly ambient piece it would seem very feasible to fill up the soundscape more.
  18. AMT, the Alpha has no drivers for the Mac. And if I can find that CD again only choice is to re-install Cubase LE and try that in place of Audacity. Snappleman, I could try testing another sound source but it'll have to wait. The only cables I have for the Alpha's line in are 1/4" to XLR and only my mixer can use those at the moment. These are the back connections it has: Phono line outs are apparently working fine. If I connect a cable to the computer's line in and record using line in, it will sound great except with a hiss in quieter parts. I seldom use the 1/4" line outs. I don't think the unit has a preamp- my mixer has one anyways. More likely I think the USB connector is messed up. That's the only place where the noise problems occur. Yeah, it's probably broken.
  19. Ah, arrangement compression. Condensing all the ideas down to a short time Nice remix, it may be electronic but it's definitely breaking out of zircon's usual style. My favorite part comes after the breakdown- A suitable replacement to the current TF2 music on the title screen. That bass has some real character too. There are various changes in its tone and texture. Good bass is not just about making your speakers tremble.
  20. Ooh, I have been thinking about that for some time. An all trance OCR set done by GT. Maybe even a couple remixers can send repackaged VIP versions of their mixes over to him? I tried mixing OCR music before and the straight differences in BPM and phrasing makes it challenging
  21. I'm gonna say PrototypeRaptor. He's an up and coming dance music remixer. His house and drum & bass mixes have been spot on with the sound.
  22. What a very nice, soothing version of the original. Blue Magic seems to be good at doing this. And it's like something Andean-inspired new age. At least until the beat start to pick up. The pan flute really does it for me.
  23. I think I saw that lady in some other music video- she looks familiar. Back to the topic, I just think back to what Chris Rock said about Li'l Jon's rap. Any catchy beat will easily blind people from the lyrics no matter how dirty they are, especially if they're said in a voice that's not very understandable like Li'l Jon's. You say songs used to sneak in innuendo in a less obvious fashion, yet also realize this song still succeeds in hiding it from most people. Maybe producers have realized this so they don't take the effort to be more subtle, as long as it still fools the person?
  24. The website looks a bit suspect as well- they're attempting to avoid trademark issues by slightly renaming their products from the original source (Phantom instead of Fantom). An officially endorsed product won't have to do that.
