  1. Good Morning OCRemix! I have been holding onto this song for a while and I figured it would be the perfect time to share it! I love this beat, it just reminds me of a story about Cloud in which, I can imagine it must be rough. I wrote this song to resemble what cloud might go through on his adventures though from the original Final Fantasy 7, a classic! it's simply a story I came up with when I heard this amazing tune. it makes me feel amazing to hear all these songs everybody has come up with! This is probably my 6th or 7th run on this song. I hope you enjoy! https://www.dropbox.com/s/vanpri5iv27vx6t/as if i was cloud.wav?dl=0 originally made from Mattias Häggström Gerdt, Arranging the music of 2 songs... 2. Need some help! Have really enjoyed making this remix. My lift music-style version of the FF7 battle theme never felt right to me, but this popped into my head the other day and feels like a much better use of the major key changeup. The only trouble is I can't decide whether to produce a clean final mix, or one with an added vinyl effect, hard compressor with some distortion + dulled EQ to better simulate the kind of sound I'm going for. I've provided versions of both here that are nearly finished - would love your thoughts on the track itself as a remix, but also on whether to go for the flatter but more authentic 'FX' version, or the cleaner but less authentic non-FX version. Thanks for listening either way! Original source theme at the end of the post, in case you haven't heard it before: Original theme: Cheers!
  3. Hello OCRemix! Here's one I feel is quite serious. *yes serious* *I will not be held liable for any reason of any sort.* I always have a lot on my mind, this is me expressing it. I've been hearing this remix over and over and was also trying to think of a way to reach out to others. As anyone, we all have issues, but a personal issue I have faced is suicide attempt. I won't get too much into detail, but I am still alive! Also, for anyone feeling this way too, I would truly feel happy if I could speak to you through this song and perhaps show you there is more to what we see, think, and experience. As mentioned before, I would love to touch others through music, but I feel I don't have a soft spoken mouth, I served in the USMC so I have a tad bit of "Sailor's Mouth" and I apologize, so in result I will do my best to censor and foul language if I need to do more, please let me know. Also, if anyone would like to talk to me about my songs I have no problem working with the community to stay within guidelines, as I want to be a solid part of the community you all hold! As a note, in a previous post I mentioned i'm quite novice with editing, this song has no editing done to it, as it is in progress. https://www.dropbox.com/s/l3ipnszh7bb7hkz/it won't stop Censored version.wav?dl=0 The Original is here: https://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01196 By Rellik Arranging the music of one song... 4. Hello OCRemix! I have been a fan of this site for years! I've written to plenty and now I would like some constructive criticism, I personally don't know how to compose or write music at all, but I have been writing for over 20 years and everytime I hear these remixes it makes me want to write more! I'm unsure of licensing and issues with this and that and its quite a concern of mine, is there anyone I can talk to sometime about issues like this? This song's purpose is to bring my feeling to music when I experience driving in my car, the second I heard this remix I fell in love with it! As of right now I have three kids and life is a bit hectic, but I do manage to find a little bit of time to try to put something together now and then. Besides that, this is my first post! I hope somebody out there can feel what I feel when I hear this song, I hear it over and over so I just had to get it out of my system and onto this track! Please let me know what you think, this is Test Run #4 as of right now, until I get some more time and accommodations for recording vocals. I am also quite novice at working programs to provide quality editing, I'm attempting to learn each day as much as I can. I also apologize in advance if I take a while to get back to you. I also have lots of patience and am willing to listen and communicate effectively. I look forward to speaking to many of you, getting to know the community, and making more music! My dream is to touch people though music! I created a link in Dropbox, copied it, and ensured it said "Anyone with this link can view the file." "I Need to Burn Some Gas" Here is where I found the delightful original, Thank you Jewbei & Masato Nakamura! 5. Hey guys! I am new to this forum. I have been a fan of Metroid since I first started playing Metroid Prime around 2003. Here are some tracks I made. Hopefully you can judge from the tracks how much Metroid Prime has affected my creative life. 6. Hello All! So I've created an album of some of my favorite video game music remixed into hip hip tracks. Each track has lyrics based on the video game where the music is from. Gamers can appreciate and everyone else can enjoy! I'll also post a link to the whole album, but my favorites are: 1 - At the Bar (Streets of Rage); 2- N'Sane (Crash Bandicoot); and 4 - Princess Ruto (Legend of Zelda) Would these be good for submitting? 7. Wassup guys! Description: Inspired by the music of Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future, here is my take on the track “Perils of the Coral Reef”. My version is called “Joys of the Coral Reef” which is a lo-fi chill hip hop beat with beautiful strings and a sax solo, and calming ocean, dolphin, and whale sounds. Imagine swimming in the clear blue sea with this tune playing! Enjoy! UPDATE: Made a lot of changes! Will submit this! Listen Here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1g8r11ish65xrh0/Perils of the Deep Sea (Lofi).mp3?dl=0 This is the track from the actual game:
  8. Whats up everyone! So I did 3 vocal remixes I wanted to share. The Donkey Kong one I am wondering if I could submit since I did change the original beat a bit. Hope you enjoy! Wisp Circuit from Team Sonic Racing (Vocal Remix) Aquatic Ambiance from Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze (Vocal Remix) Beneath the Mask from Persona 5 (Vocal Remix)
  9. Some time ago I wanted to propose a short Xenogear short film based on its own time after the events of Xenogear. I had to deal with other things and decided to launch the Cinematic version of the Faraway Promise melody that corresponds to the animation. Soon I will release said short film. Enjoy.
  10. This is just a tribute to one of the best songs i've heard on a video game, ever! Original song composed by Rob Hubbard, a genius composer and muscician, over the last 40 years. The song that i cover it's the one that appears on "Skate Or Die II" tittles theme stage for NES console Drums were made on "Guitar Pro 5" and edited on "Fruity Loops 7" with VST "EZDrummer MetalMachine" Guitars were recorded on "Vegas 11" trough BOSS GT10 pedalboard. Hope you enjoy it, and greetings from Argentina. Guidorch Link: Original song: Skate Or Die II - Tittle Theme
  11. Hello! This is my orchestral medley for The Legend of Zelda - Majora's Mask. It contains various themes from the original soundtrack and some short original segments. I hope you enjoy it! Any kind of tips or criticism is welcome. Tools used: Fruity Loops East West Symphonic Orchestra I started writing some parts using a scoring application as well, but I switched pretty quickly for a faster workflow. I plan to update the score later. (Edit: minor update for some balance changes)
  12. I'm pretty much not gonna be happy with this if it doesn't get a live performance attached to it, so lemme know. If you're interested just to let you know I'm pretty much gonna give you free reign to do with it whatever the hell you want to do. I'll finish the arrangement on my end of course. Shouldn't be too hard. REMIX: https://app.box.com/s/tec3jxbz30qeir9ryuzmu6rf71nri6j6 Source: I took it from 3/4 to 4/4 also.
  13. GAME: Goonies (NES/FC) TRACK: Alternate Level Theme Well, I'm back after another long slumber. It's been a while since I've created any music, so I thought I'd post this Goonies arrangement here before I make a video for it to post on my youtube channel. I made this in two days which is unusually fast for me. I am wondering if I should trust my ears or not. I originally used the flute VST that I have used in past mixes, however, it wasn't sitting well in the mix so I swapped it out for a couple of synth flutes. Some people may not like it, but I think it gives it more of an 80s feel which I like. Let me know if you think I bass and drums are at a good level or not. The concern is that I have a new setup now with different speakers and I'm not used how things sound on them. The original track. Arrangement
  14. SoundCloud Link So in light of Luigi's Mansion 3, I made this demo of the main theme in the style of "Love and Marriage" AKA the Married with Children theme. I used FL Studio and my crappy free samples (like Al Bundy I have no money) I arranged it in a Major key to give it that Sitcomy feel but kept the middle part spooky. I contomplated Lyrics but I can't think of any. I'm open to collaborating on this if anyone wants to join in.
  15. Hey folks, here's a big ol' piece of music that took far too long to do. I learned a fair bit on how to approach composing/mixing big orchestral pieces like this, especially when there are synths/guitars layered in on top, though I imagine there's plenty to be improved. Let me know what you think, cheers! Chrono Trigger Orchestral Remix - World Revolution / Final Battle / Main Theme
  16. Have been meaning to do more medieval-style remixes since my Halo theme a couple of years back, and the tune that worked best in my head was the wonderful Steam Gardens theme from Mario Odyssey (plays during Wooded Kingdom). As ever, Logic Pro X's string sounds are a challenge, and there is no acceptable solo violin sound for a lead instrument (was aiming for a vielle or medieval fiddle type sound), so I was searching for an alternative lead instrument for a while... before ending on something that may or may not be my first step towards inevitable mental decline. You'll hear what I mean pretty quickly... Here's the remix, complete with a bit of photoshopped Bayeux Tapestry, which I posted on my YouTube channel yesterday: And here's the original, excellent theme (might not jump out at you immediately in the medieval version!): It's all done fairly tongue-in-cheek and meant to raise a chuckle - but I think especially towards the second half, I was fairly pleased with the overall feel & arrangement. Would love your thoughts! Thanks
  17. Hey guys, it's been a minute since I did posted anything to the board. Working on this track and want to get feedback/ideas/critiques on the arrangement. This song is my current canvas for practicing some music theory stuff, but my ear isn't the best catching when harmonies and chords are 'off'. This is half the track so far; and the last 10 seconds of the song is just placeholder vomit to close what I have off. Appreciate it everyone!
  18. Hoo-boy. Here we go. So this is my first post to OCR. I'm very, VERY new to remixing and I'd like some general feedback on this track I've been working on. I'd eventually like this to be something akin to what you'd hear on GameChops or Radio Cutman which is to say, a downtempo, lo-fi, hip-hoppy remix a la @FUSION42's Mabe Chillage (which I absolutely adore). I only have maybe half of the track hammered out so far (about up to the chorus), but I'd like some feedback on it before I go any further. Soundcloud link
  19. This has been on my to-do list for over a year, since my Ghibli Orchestra arrangement of Objection! (2016) - found it hard to pin down the right direction! I think this is less Ghibli-esque than that piece, but partly because every time I tried a new angle or rhythm it felt like the character had moved too far away from the original. Thought I needed to somehow keep the pace or at least the sensation of pace, while giving it a little more variety in harmony & tone + piling on the power when needed. Breakthrough came with Logic Pro X's new String Studio (hallelujah!), but I've been so deep in the piece for so long it's hard to really step back and see whether it's where it needs to be! Would love your thoughts on it. Here's the orchestral rearrangement (after a couple of updates today): And here's the original: Cheers!
  20. Hello all! This is my first attempt at remixing something from a game. I had this idea while watching Hbomberguy's DK64 stream from a while ago and threw this together. The transitions are clumsy, the drum part is thrown together haphazardly, and I have zero working knowledge of EQ or balance, but I'm proud of it. Someday I might record it with live instruments. I'm happy to hear constructive feedback, and if anyone can direct me to resources for me to learn more about music production, it'd be greatly appreciated.
  21. the original idea came from this remix: https://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01746 Sources: I'm Sooo Salty after Episode Ardyn. thoughts on the remix?
  22. Sup all! When gamers who have played God of War 4 decided to make “Boy”, the name Kratos constantly calls his son Atreus, into a popular meme, Smooth4Lyfe decided to create a remix. Check out the EDM remix called “BOY”, which turns the voice of Kratos into a hot club pumping beat. Hope you like!
  23. Hey everybody! I've just completed a new orchestral arrangement. It's a Battle Medley from a number of Legend of Zelda games. It contains music from Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time. The piece is a collection of music from Boss Battles, including a climax to the big Ganondorf fight, with some other incidental music thrown in to provide transitions. It was made with Sibelius 7 and NotePerformer. Please enjoy!
  24. So I used to play Top Gear to death as a kid, and its composer Barry Leitch used heavy arpeggio and really influenced my own style, when I think about it. I was in the mood this time for some overcompressed dance music and this particular theme from the first track of the game (or each four-race country cup in the game) happened to be stuck in my head. Mostly I left the original tune intact, except for some artistic license here and there; I added harmony when there wasn't before, a little pitch bend at times as an accent, kind of embellished on the original percussion track, and I tried to make the bass synth sound like a car engine in a few spots. I did fire up my old cart and play it for a little while. Top Gear was pretty much just a rehash of the Lotus series from the Amiga and Genesis, I think. It was a decent racing game for its time, but Top Gear 2 and especially Top Gear 3000 were better games, and I feel are both severely overlooked. Honestly I've spent many, many hours on this already, and it's pretty much done, but I could use some feedback regarding production (I have some minor hearing damage that makes production notably more difficult.)
