  1. Hi there everybody! I completed a new arrangement, entitled "The Marine Waltz". This is an arrangement for a full orchestra; a Waltz based on two themes: The Underwater music from Super Mario Bros., and Super Mario World. It's modelled on the Waltzes of Strauss and Tchaikovsky. I've have had plans on writing this piece for some years, as the melodies make fantastic material for a Waltz - the bouncy rhythms lend themselves to powerful and vivid orchestration. In this arrangement, I intended to evoke the atmosphere of a 19th Century Dance Hall. After a slow introduction, based on the opening line of the SMW Underwater theme, the theme is then played through in its entirety, first in the Woodwinds, then in the Strings, as the Brass provides the rhythm, before building up to the end of the section where the music modulates from F major to C major. The SMB Underwater theme is brought in, being played through three times in ever increasing thickness of orchestration, before the music comes to a radiant conclusion using a segment of the SMB Underwater theme in a Tchaikovsky-esque Coda.
  2. Hey everybody! This is an arrangement of the "Menu 1" Music from Super Smash Bros. Melee, which featured in the Materia Collective "MENU" Album at the beginning of the year. In this piece, I took the original version and developed adding sections to the piece that enhances it's martial, combative atmosphere. This is the Live recording, featuring musicians from Materia Collective. Disclaimer: Original music is by Hirokazu Ando, Images are original game artwork and in-game screenshots.
  3. Hey there! I recently completed this arrangement of the 7AM theme from the original Animal Crossing that I thought I would share. It was interesting process to adapt this to live instruments and add some more jazzy elements to the tune, as well as expand on the drums to make things a bit more interesting. Hope you guys enjoy it!
  4. hey Back with a new game remix. I did not know the Ps2 version. The menu theme is really good, only too short. So i remixed this longer enjoy.
  5. Another piece I did for DoD, but unlike the last one (which was a mostly straightforward cover), this one is a mashup of 2 songs from the OST and has a much more original arrangement. Haven't submitted yet, but I think I may sometime soon. Let me know if there's some mix tweaks or anything else that could improve it before I do! Originals: Now, smashed and banged (smanged!) together and turnt to 11:
  6. For now, I call it "High Voltage" You see what I did there? I just wanted everyone to get a listen and maybe let me know what they think of this mix. I worked for almost 14 hours on it. And yes, I still upload on Newgrounds. It's still a thing and still alive.
  7. Sharing my latest metal remix of a track called "We've Got Hostiles" (link) from the original 2012 Black Mesa soundtrack. After the Black Mesa devs recently announced that the Xen Beta would go live soon (which it did a couple of days ago) I was super exited and wanted to celebrate this with a remix. When I planned it out, I unfortunately was not aware that the release of the dedicated (and absolutely gorgeous) soundtrack for Xen by Joel Nielsen was also immenent. Therefore, I picked a song from the original 2012 soundtrack. Wanted to share this here because I appreciate the OCR community a lot. Had some good discussions and feedback here in my early remixing days (aka. a couple of years back). But, to be honest with you, I'm not planning on submitting this one. Two reasons for this: Firstly, the remix contains a couple of voice lines from Half-Life 2, and this kind of stuff is always an issue from a copyright standpoint. Secondly, the last couple of remixes I submitted seem to have vanished into the nether, without any feedback / judge decision whatsoever. Totally understandable, from the "active judges" thread it is obvious that you are understaffed at the moment and while probably being flooded with submission more than ever. Anyways, enough rambling. Hope some of you stumble upon this thread and give this remix a listen. If you do, definitely let me know what you think! Imma go back to pondering if making a remix of "Shadows of Death" from the Xen soundtrack might be low-hanging fruit or not at this point.
  8. This this is a remix using the sounds from a commercial for Chu Chu Rocket on the Dremacast that aired in Japan circa 1998/1999. I am not submitting this because it will probably be rejected. That's alright with me because this remix is a lot of fun. My brother and I did this remix back in 2003 (doesn't seem so long ago but that's 14 years ago!). This song would probably be considered "fun with sound" more than electronic but that's ok. I found this forgotten remix on my old Halo Special Edition XBOX that my parents found at their house. I recorded it, denoised it (it contains some clicking and artifacts), then made an interesting music video to go along with it using the video of the original commercial. I hope you like it!
  9. Hi there! I just finished my new Touhou cover. I guess this production goes toward some electronic dance music genre. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhj9AcqsG34
  10. Hey all, Proud to release this finally! Not too long ago, I worked on a huge Final Fantasy 9 homage project called "Beyond the Mist", presented by the Pixel Mixers. This is my contribution to their project. The song is based on the location known as Oeilvert where...lol...your party has their magic ability sealed. I put a lot of work into this one and hope you enjoy! Also, you can download the full album free through the link in the video
  11. Another UT99 remix, of one of my favorite tracks from the soundtrack. Enjoy!
  12. Between Heaven and Earth (Youtube) I wanted to go for that emotional epic sound, hope you guys enjoy it!

  17. Hey folks, there's a contest being held on a subreddit for covers of battle themes for games, so I decided to throw my lot in with this piece. Please enjoy!
  18. Hello! I just finished my new Undertale - Another Medium arrangement and published it on YouTube: It sticks to the source quite a lot, but I wanted to make it that way. I had some long adjustments with french horn, but I think it went pretty close to where it sounds at least decent. What do you think about it (too loud, too quiet, narrow, wide etc.)? And overall, what do you think about the balance of all instruments and atmosphere? Any feedback is welcome! Thanks for listening!
  19. My first attempt at remixing something from JSR, hope you'll like it! !
  20. https://soundcloud.com/coeurlamari/smooth-buster-remix-of-rude-buster-from-deltarune Hey all, I finished a funky little remix of this already extremely funky bop and I'd welcome some thoughts on it. Not sure if it's good enough for OCR so I don't mind if anyone really takes it seriously that way or not, but it was sure fun to make and I hope it's an enjoyable listen. I did some different stuff chords-wise than the original, tried to do my own thing in parts to really make it my own, and I also didn't make every note a perfect 1:1 cover, so hopefully my choices weren't too offensive.
  21. Another NES Remix i've made. This one it's from "Batman - Return of the Joker" for NES console. There are great tunes on that little game. Hope you enjoy it! Drums were made on "Guitar Pro 5" and edited on "Fruity Loops 7" with VST "EZDrummer MetalHeads" Guitars were recorded on "Vegas 11" trough BOSS GT10 pedalboard. Guidorch Original Theme Song: Batman - Return of the Joker (Stage 1 to 6) Remix Cover: Batman - Return of the Guidorch
  22. I recently covered "Dance Through the Danger" from Shantae: Half-Genie Hero! I went for a mellow, acoustic treatment of the source. I sang, played the harp, hammered dulcimer, Irish bouzouki, percussion, and enlisted my husband for djembe and video editing. Hope you enjoy it!
  23. Most Sagat remixes are downtempo, heavily jazz influenced, or otherwise arranged to be suitable for relaxation; my approach to Sagat's theme was quite the opposite. I drew most of my influence from the drop d guitar rhythm found in the Street Fighter Alpha 2 arrangement, while keeping to the structure of the SNES version from Street Fighter II: The World Warrior. The end result is what I consider to be an aggressive, yet regal take on Sagat's iconic theme. The time signature for this piece is 11/8, just like the original, and let me tell you, it made creating this remix quite a challenge, especially playing the guitar (0_0) I chose to base my remix on the SNES version because I consider it to be the best version of the theme. The use of a droning violin on the SNES, which is absent from the CPS1 rendition, gives the composition a better texture, and in my mind, a sense of grandeur befitting of Sagat. Other useful information can be found below. I've no plans to submit this to the judges, because I have no plans to lengthen the piece, or invent new measures in 11/8. Covering the song was challenging enough for my meager abilities lol. Oh, and just in case any of you are curious about the meaning of my remix title, Ayuthaya is the real world location of Sagat's stage from Street Fighter II. Ayutthaya was an ancient kingdom that sat where Thailand is today. In Sagat's stage, you can see the reclining Buddha of the Ayutthaya ruins, as well as a few ancient temples. At its height, the Ayutthaya Kingdom had many conflicts with the neighboring Kingdom of Burma. One famous folktale relating to their conflicts is about the warrior Nai Khanomtom, a master of Muay. Khanomtom and a few of his fellow fighters were captured by the Burmese, and challenged to a duel to prove that Burmese fighters were superior. Khanomtom chose to represent his friends, and Ayutthaya, successfully defeating every fighter the Burmese had. In the end, Khanomtom won the respect of the Burmese, and thus grew the legend of Muay Boran, and the might of Ayutthaya. So by choosing the title "The Tiger of Ayutthaya" it is my goal to connect Sagat, and his music, to the greater folklore of Thailand, and Muay Thai. Song Title: "The Tiger or Ayutthaya" (Sagat Theme Remix) Originally Composed By: Isao Abe Arranged and Performed By: The Native Dialect BPM: 105 Style: Rock Hardware: iMac, iRig, Ibanez Talmon Software: GarageBand, Audacity The Tiger of Ayyuthaya Source
