Instrumental & Vocal Skills (Other)

  1. Hi guys! Still learning how to tackle the VGM remix world. Here's my third consecutive remix for this month! Hope you like it
  2. Hey OCR I'm looking to get involved in a few projects to help build my skills and confidence as a musician. I normally direct and produce albums with lots of other musicians, but I felt it was about time I started focusing on myself and what I can do. This year I have been contributing vocals to a few tracks on Newgrounds, with a few more still in the works. If you have a project you feel I would be suitable in, please get in touch and let me know what it's all about. I do request that you have a proven track record of completing projects, because my time is important. I won't contribute to something that I don't feel will be completed, and sadly that is all too common (although sometimes beyond peoples control). I also request that your project is non-profit if I am working on it for free. If you plan to license and sell your music, we would need to discuss that in more detail. In return you'll get an enthusiastic, motivated vocalist who is willing to learn and improve. You can also be assured that I take deadlines very seriously and will stay in good communication throughout. Please check out what I have on Newgrounds so far, with more to come! http://darrenkerwin.newgrounds.com/

Ghetto Lee Lewis (Leliana) and Ronald Poe (Xehanort) are not only pitted against each other, but also the character who won the first rRPC: Porky! Both finalists must combine their character theme with Master Porky's Theme from Mother 3, while also having the option to include each other's character theme as well. Who will defeat Porky and become the new reigning champion of the rRPC? The finals end at noon EDT on Monday, August 1st. For more details, follow the link to the compo thread.

The Bonus Round of the ReMix Role-Playing Competition is open. Compo participants may take their character and/or party member theme and mix that with any of the sources that have come up during the compo (excluding the finalists' and Porky's Theme). There are no restrictions and collaborations are allowed as well. For those who did not sign up for the rRPC 2016, you are still allowed to participate in the bonus round. All you need to do is pick out a hero or villain theme that isn't already claimed by the participants, and combine that with any of the sources used during the compo. For more information, follow the link to the post in the compo thread.
  5. So, I made a remix of Storm Owl's theme from Megaman X4. I must admit tho I didn't stray too far away from the original theme's arrangement. Title: Perch and Destroy Genre: House BPM: 135

  7. UPDATE: So I'm a liar, I did work on it again... I tried to balance the instruments more, Gave it some variety in the second part, Did my best to improve the sound of the lead instruments and hope I kept the balance/dynamic/drive after the build-up (Most Trap phantasm/factory covers I hear screw that up..). (Why the first video is so big is beyond me...) As Always, T-Ape has a new costume, This time Prometheus his helmet...In Biometal form...I think...Whatever. Enjoy! [Version 1] Here is my Remix of Trap Phantasm. Enjoy. It's finished, I won't be working on it more than I did already. Feedback is always welcome, check the checklist in the top thread. Note: This is my first remix that I made public and definitely not the last. The artwork is made by me, I will make a cosplay for Ape with every remix I make. Second one is almost done.
  8. Here is the electro analog remix of Mega Man Advent ZX - Trap Phantasm By Pixelizer Good Listening ! Original :
  9. Recently I was totally in the mood to make some remixing stuff for the good ol' beat ' em up series Battle Arena Toshinden for the very first Playstation generation - one of the few fighting games which haven't had just good gameplay, cool characters, great special effects and a pretty interesting background story - no, the Toshinden series have also had really awesome BGM tunes which are really made for fighting. So, I decided to make a little remix for Sho's Theme from Battle Arena Toshinden 2. Here it goes... Original game track: >>> ---------------------------------------- Newest version of my remix: 1.2 >>> >>> https://clyp.it/3dj3to2t All the other informations are in the description of the uploaded content of the Youtube version. Enjoy & give me some feedback.
  10. Greetings everybody, I'm usually not used to be active in forums, so I hope you don't mind if I just pop up occasionly, even though I'm not a newbie in making music and remixes and stuff. : 3 My point is, I love to make music and I love to make remixed from games/music and other stuff as well. But there is always something that keeps bothering me for a while and that is currently the main reason why I'm not very active in making game music anymore. I've done a lot of team fortress 2 remixes - not the usuall bonk songs, but pretty decent stuff, because I knew that valve would never try to harm me for honoring their kind of work and products. It's not their kind of company philosophy and image their presenting. But there are quite a lot a different companies and games out there, where I am pretty much afraid to do honor them by making remixes for their games. I mean, what kind of protection as a private person do i have, if someone shows up and wants to sue me for using any kind of company-product-representative music as a foundation for a good song? I'm pretty sure a lot of you guys already dealt with this kind of stuff and as far as I know, that this side wasn't forced to shut down because of the unquestioned usage of video-game music for remixes - so if I want to make some vg-remix-music, would it be wiser for me just to act in a community or can I upload my stuff on youtube without any worries? I don't use my music to make any kind of money, and I also don't have any current situation, where this came up to me. I am just sick of worring about stuff I have no knowlegde of what might kicks my butt without actually doing something bag. ^^' It was a long time ago since I wrote so much stuff in English. I hope you guys can understand my intentions nontheless. : P Ryu Ookami

  12. This is a little rock remix of the opening theme from the Pokémon anime series. It's my first remix of an anime soundtrack after making a few remixes for several videogames. I'm not the typical die-hard fan of Pokémon - but I loved the anime when I was a child. Pretty fluffy and hearty stuff with a nice touch of adventure. Some time ago I've listened to the opening theme of the anime once again which has a really decent melody I still like - and I thought that this could be a nice track for improving my virtual guitar skills. So, I put some effort into the articulation of every single guitar note. Sometimes I tought for hours about where the different articulations or playing techniques (like long played notes, hammer-ons, tappings, slides or some FX guitar sounds) might fit best within a short guitar sequence. But I got into it after some time and I think this helped me improving my music production skills a little bit - especially for creating much more realistic guitar sounds. Thanks to my really awesome virtual guitar amplifier Vandal I could give the guitar sound its totally unique style and make a decent final touch with a little bit hall reverb and a little bit more pinging stereo delay - really good combination for reverberant but also strong, assertive guitar sounds. I've also enjoyed working a bit more with velocity dynamics to bring some more life and vibrance into the track - but it's still pretty tough for me to find the right balance between the velocities of the different tracks within a song. Already a velocity value change of just 10 out of 127 can make a perceivable difference between hearing single notes in the whole mix and not noticing or at least not feeling them anymore. But I will work on this in the future. Just as usual I've mastered this remix at EBU R 128 loudness standards and used absolutely no compressors or limiters for keeping the full, natural sounding dynamic range and best possible hi-fi sound quality. So, check this stuff... Original Intro Theme: >>> ---------------------------------------- Newest version of my remix: 1.0 >>> >>> https://clyp.it/ymrif5kn

  15. A while ago, I wanted to make a video that shows all the games I love to play and for the background music I found out a way to use tunes from different games to make up the arrangement of a new mash up song that would contain many games' themes. It's like patchwork from existing things made into a new dress. But as I completed the first one,I thought it would be better not to use the video footage but simply put it on youtube and let people guess what games I use in the songs. I liked the process of finding tunes that go together and I made a second one, and I'm thinking about the third one as well. Hope you like: These are all the ones that I made

  17. I remember hearing this remix, it is Mario Kart 64 for sure and uses a sample of Toad's banana hit scream repeating: It's a pretty fast paced song I wanna say dub step or trap in nature, later in the song it uses audio samples of Wario laughing as well later in the track. I have seen it in a few youtube videos (which I cannot find anymore) in joke MLG montages. Thing that sparked my interest was I was at Phoenix ComiCon this past Saturday in a tournament and they played it over the sound system in the tournament room and now it's stuck in my head again. please help, thanks EDIT: Found it, Aylen - Mvrio Kvrt Also the Youtube videos were the intro to ETC TUGS

  23. This song is sampled from the score Attack from Final Fantasy X. Made in FL Studio, Utilizes two pianos, two synth from Sytrus, and a standard drumset with an 808. Also has a few delays and reverbs. Not really sure how to describe the sound or genre I guess a blend of pop and hip hop. Feedback and criticism as usual are always welcome. Thanks for listening. Hope you enjoy. Original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_o4pETAzW4 My Mix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knssyMY0HAk
