Thin Crust Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 I remember on CF, before all the 'upgrades' they did, everyone's sig could be as tall as you wanted it, but it was in its own little area with it's own scroll bar. I don't know what it was called though.

I don't know what it was called though. That can actually be done with a little CSS. Something like max-height: 250px;overflow: auto; Not sure on the first one, maybe it's just "height".
Antipode Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Ah but it's the spirit of the law that matters, not the letter.
Olarin Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Personally, I think the best readability improvement that could be made to the forums would be to remove signatures altogether. Graphical and otherwise.

Darth Lime Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Bandwidth issues? I cut mine back. OG SIG RIGHT THURRRRRRRRR
Maco70 Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 I don't think I have ever even seen a sig that big. I have no problems.
Olarin Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 You can turn all sigs off in your account settings. Yes, I gathered that from this thread. I'm thinking more in terms of readability to an anonymous guest user wandering in new to the site. (Also, in my particular case, I never let my browser store passwords or long-term cookies 'cause I'm paranoid, so I'm typically never logged in until I decide to post something, but that's my own darn fault.) I don't really see where signatures add anything useful to a forum, but obviously I'm in the vast minority on that issue both here and on the internet in general, so it doesn't really matter.

hewhoisiam Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 Don't mind me, just testing this sig. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. NINJA EDIT: Hm. A bit rough around the edges. I'll have to fix that.
Toadofsky Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 I'd hate to see a complete elimination of sigs.
jayc4life Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 I'd hate to see them too, but if you go into your User CP, there's an option to turn all sigs off. Sounds daunting if you ask me. Only really helps if you're on dial-up and it takes a millenium to load a page.
Gollgagh Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Only really helps if you're on dial-up and it takes a millenium to load a page. also if you don't feel like looking at sigs or you have people looking over your shoulder
RadioactivePancakes Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 I likes ma sig. OCRE made it. P.S. DrumUltima has nice hair
DrumUltimA Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 I likes ma sig. OCRE made it.P.S. DrumUltima has nice hair hay thanks
Flare4War Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 I went through this thread and blocked all the sigs I didn't like and left all the ones that I did, all via Firefox. Hooorah!!
Kinslayer Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Just wanted to let you know that I'm going to keep sigs I make for myself and others at 500 x 200 only, unless someone asks me to do something different.
