Final Fantasy VI 'Tina, Don't Fall'

I love the strings in the intro of this, I wish the entire remix was like that,

because as soon as that part is over and it goes into a fast new-age

peppy sounding mode I lose interest in this remix. I really really wish

that the first 25 seconds of this remix were representative of the entire

thing.

I agree totally. I *love* the intro and the short instrumental section, but the rest of the remix is depressingly predictable. What makes it worse for me is that Mr. Prievert's Bloody Tears Inspired is possibly my favourite OC ReMix, and, along with the string sections, makes me think how awesome this track could have been. Not bad, by any means, but it had so much more potential, in my opinion.

yep

strings = something amazing

everything else = uninteresting

Actually, the very first time I heard this I really liked the whole thing as I wasn't expecting it at all (djp said it was wild didn't he?), but a day later or so and another listen turned that around. Give it a listen at least, great first time trip. I love the second time the "interesting" strings come in with the beat.

The initial idea of Terra's theme fast sounded cool to me. With the first listen, it reminded me of "Wild Wild West" by Dale North; a cool FF6 theme re-done at a much faster pace. Only thing is, just the Veldt theme faster sounds amazing, whereas Terra's theme...doesn't. While I find it very hard to envision Terra breakdancing to this or whatever, the sooner you ignore the fact that it's Terra's theme and just listen to the song, it's cool. Took awhile to make up my mind about it, but I kept it. Way to take things in a completely different direction, Prievert! Good job overall.

I didn't like it. It really didn't do the melody justice. Prehaps the weird synth horns or whatever that is. I can't even tell. And the windwoods. Compared to the other remix's of Terra. This is my least favorite.

This might be the first remix that actually made the Terra melody faster going, it just rushed through without pauses. I can agree with everyone that those strings were beautiful, had a touch of sorrow embodied in it, and then came the melody to smash down that feel into something more techno hipity-hop. It was okay, but when the next loop came, nothing had changed that much.

The middle part wasn´t that spectacular, but I sure has to give ya credit for the strings AP. Nice work, dude.

Transition between the well done moody intro and the slightly upbeat main section are pretty weak, and once you get to the main section, the production is super grimy, like there's a film over the entire mix. Props for the time signature change, but i'm getting conflicting moods. The new melody is way more cheerful, but the instruments used are somewhat morose. I think if this had the production touched up, and if the sounds were re-chosen, it'd make a lot more musical sense. That'd mean the intro and breakdowns would have to go too, however.

Basically I see this like ideas for 2 pretty good songs that were married against their will.

Wow... this mix and psychotically contradictory... Usually Terra's theme is an epic, heartbreaking, spirit-soaring song, and its remixes embody that same feel... this has a weird sense of urgency topped off with a light-hearted skip-through-the-woods theme... very strange... but I like it!

Keep it up!

made huge for emphasis because it's what really makes this all the better imo.
"Terra" arrangements aren't really my thing
Except when you're in your Toyota, then you really dig terrible vocal arrangements of Terra, no? :<

I like that this actually extracts some FUN out of the Terra melody; something I would have thought pretty impossible back in the day. It's got a jovial style, almost like it is saying 'the hell to the emotive side of this song, I want to dance'. There's nothing wrong with that, either.

Samples are substandard, but that's not news to anyone I'm sure. The string sections are nice, but do mislead the listener and scrambles the orientation a bit. However I do like that they are there, as they give the mix just a bit more personality; as schizophrenic as that personality may be.

A cheerful yet confused take on Terra. At least it is done interestingly and gives the theme a thorough reworking. I mean, it made Terra's Theme fun. Deserves at least some credit for that.

It may not be the best "sounding" Terra remix, but it is by far, far, far the most original of them all. Personally, I think the string intro is the weakest portion (agh fake strings!), but thankfully it's over in about 10 seconds.

The 6/8 is a key component to its excellence, yes. But, it also has another unique thing: an actual counter-melody! I'm an instant fan of this one. Well done, Alex.
