Nicole Adams Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 I've become good friends with Tepid over the past few months and am always impressed with what he sends me. This track is obviously no exception. Great job, Phil! It's about time OCR hears your "new" style. Quote
Jenz Drake Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Well.....damn. This song really impressed me..... I REALLY LOVE THIS TRACK!! I've currently been working on a VGM playlist (both remixes and originals) and I'm just gonna add this song to it now....hahaha... May I say it's very...disco-y? Damn this rocks. Quote
audio fidelity Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 yes YeS YES! electro paris dance music ftw! Quote
BlackPanther Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 I like the old school feel of this, so sweet. Good stuff man. Quote
Matt E. Waldman Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Fantastic job Tepid(or Phil)! I'm glad I can finally hear the final version of this piece! Overall, awesome arrangement, and I love the disco-feel of it. And once again, congrats on winning 2nd Place! By the way, it was great sharing insights with you during the contest! Quote
halc Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 fantastic production! sorta reminds me of daft punk. really, this is an amazing remix. i love the chiptune aesthetic, alongside the fat bass and punchy drums. awesome, awesome, awesome Quote
Jewbei Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 ahh masta phil youve done it again man im always blasting your music on my zune and this one will be on loop for a long while....it reminds me of daft punk lol Quote
Liontamer Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Nothing against Rayza, who I also scored very high, but this one was my personal favorite of the Reset Generation contest. Absolutely loved this arrangement; very smart stuff, Phil! Quote
PROTO·DOME Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Awesome. The ending was freakin' sweet. Going on my playlist- nice stuff. Quote
Emunator Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Not what I've come to expect from Tepid, but I guess that entering new territory like this is a mark of a talented musician Great production and a fun groove all-around, I think I actually prefer this over the winning song, too (with all due respect to Rayza.) Quote
Regal Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 INCREDIBLY Funky. I'm unsure if the 800lb gorilla is hiding it's weight somehow but it's definately more morbidly obese than that. I'm not usually a fan of remixes of this sort, but this bass hits with rib-shattering shockwaves of AWESOME. (This is without a subwoofer of any sort.) It's absolutely incredible how something like this can be derived from a small game like RG. VERY Good work, quite possibly my favourite out of the Reset Generation competition. (All due respect to Rayza though.) Quote
ChaosPlayer Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 A+ must listen indeed. Cozy beats, smooth, nothing distracting, yet it makes you want to listen more. Quote
Monobrow Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Yay Tepid, big fan of all your stuff... This was really good. I really wasn't expecting this style at all... But it really... works! Quote
Dhsu Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 I love you, Phil. Really. You took a relatively forgettable source and made it into...this. Incredible. Quote
MrBogus Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Funkalicious, delicious, and nutritious. The bass beats are constant and driving, but you layered enough ear candy on top to keep everything fresh and crisp. Great production values and a good number of nice tricks to keep the listener on their toes. Just awesome all around. Quote
Nase Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 French Electro to a t. You've gotten really good at that man. Very pleasant listen. Quote
abg Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I remember hearing your FF8 Fisherman's Aura remix and really enjoying it, then I saw in the comments that this was French Electro which made me go O_O And then I listened to it and went O_O Seriously awesome work! Quote
DrumUltimA Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Dude, I've said it before but I'll say it again--I really like this track. Way to give justice a run for their money! Quote
ZealPath Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Never played the game, or heard the original, but this has definitely been my favorite mix of the last week or so. I feel bad not getting around to commenting on it yet, this is just so catchy, and reminds me a lot of certain tracks from Mylo's Destroy Rock and Roll album. The breakdown at the end really takes it to the next level, it's almost like the whole song was just buildup for that part. Awesomeness. Edit: Forgot to say, this is definitely making the cut on a car-cd I'm making. If that isn't a compliment I don't know what is . Quote
Martin Penwald Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Very 80's-ish synth. Overall very oldschool. Good stuff. I had never heard of this game before the remixes were posted on OCR, but I have to say that I really like what Rayza and Tepid submitted. Nice work. Quote
metalsnakejuice Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 This just blew my clothes off. WOW:< Quote
OceansAndrew Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Invincible. The synths on this are so smartly done. No excess at all, it's all tight and controlled. Way to make every note count. A+++ Quote
yosefu Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Oh god this mix is soo awesome that i just loved the intro and the synths. It was a pleasure to listen. Great job! Quote
