  1. I have done the unthinkable. I have sold out and got myself a PATREON PAGE. https://www.patreon.com/willrock07 So... Whats the deal? The deal is - I will be posting new stuff! AMAZING STOOF. Stuff that will find its way to Patreon FIRST! Before anywhere else! Plus I will be posting WIPs, which I won't be posting anywhere else. I tend to have unfinished tracks that go to the scrap heap so you'll be seeing that stuff as well! Plus there's rewards like signed copies of albums, remix requests... But perhaps most importantly... As a general rule, I try to keep my fans as happy as I can. I want to make a living out of music, but I want to give my fans as much as I can as soon as I can. I strongly consider OCR to be a large part of the reason for WHY i'm as successful with music as I am, little as that may be, and I reckon quite a large chunk of my fanbase and friends are here... so if you enjoy my music, please consider helping me by pledging a small amount. Its for a good cause! ^-^ You guys are all awesome. Thanks!

  2. It's kind of animated, in the sense that there is movement. Of the live-action.

  3. Hey OCR! I made a 200bpm drum & bass / nightcore remix of the Spider Dance theme from Undertale! Let me know what you think, free download in the youtube video. - Mykah

  4. To be completely honest, I don't really see a point in buying a different EQ. The fruity parametric EQ 2 is still my favorite for the reasons Timaeus just said. I can't really think of any features another EQ plugin would have that would be enough to justify spending hard-earned money on. As a side note, I know people more into mixing than the other aspects of music might crucify me for this and say I'm "wrong", but I feel I've gotten better with mixing recently and the most important thing I think I've learned in terms of "frequency balance" is that it's not so much about EQ, but about composition and arrangement. For me, giving up on trying to get things to "fit" by fiddling with the EQ on a bunch of different tracks and instead, if something isn't audible, changing up the voicings, strategic choice of when a particular instrument plays, or just omitting certain parts altogether has yielded far more satisfying results.

  6. Nono, resend it as soon as possible, so that there isn't confusion as to when the original email was sent (which could have delayed the evaluation).

  7. Called it. Years ago actually. Back in 2011. WillRock is an extremely talented musician and a legit good guy well worth giving a little support to for all of the quality work he's given over the last half decade. If he says he has some awesome stuff coming then you know it's going to be true. Definitely give this patreon some consideration!

  8. It may be ten years old, but this is one of my favourite tunes on the site. I think about it every time I hear the Lava Reef music.

  9. Usually I'm the one who decides on the source tune when I collaborate with people. I kinda want to mix it up and let the other person do the deciding lol. Uhh...so long as the source has a MIDI, I cannot transpose by ear =p

  10. A good point! Did you have any source in particular in mind?

    The Truth Prevails...

Not entirely sure about what I'm going to do with this song, but this is my latest song I've been working on. I may be adding it to the album I'm currently producing, still not sure. I would love to hear (or read) thoughts about this. Maybe some improvements or what you overall liked? Thanks

    The Truth Prevails...

I am a fan of meme circle jerks. I'm not sure I would make it the final boss song though, it might work better as a theme on the way to the final boss. Do you have a link to your album or game?

  14. That's some killer guitar, just the kind I like to hear. Synth is on point too. Also, I feel like the length is just right. I'd put it in.

After tireless, perilous attempts, I managed to beat Bowser's Puzzle Dungeon at @zircon's house with the support of spectatoes @DarkeSword, @Kizyr, @Jillian Aversa, and more.

  18. Hi all, This is Digital Coma, the "director" or organizer for this album. It's been more than a decade since I was last involved in OCR and Kong in Concert feels like a lifetime ago, but I thought I'd drop by and say a few words after all these years. It's pretty neat to see that KiC still has an audience almost 12 years on. Looking back, it's safe to say that I didn't always know what I was doing with what was to be the follow up to OCR's very first remix album. We did things on the fly, we struggled to put together a team, and there were plenty of mistakes made along the way. But what started out as a small summer side project with no lack of naysayers and haters ended up a surprisingly big hit, and in the end we had a solid homage album whose impact in the community I'm happy to see continues today. I won't say much more since I like that there's some legend surrounding how everything came together. But I do want to give thanks to everyone who's enjoyed the music over the years, and a special thanks to the remixers, djp, and OCR for making it all possible. Cheers, DC

    Undertale

The game had a second big uptick in popularity after being featured prominently on several GOTY lists. What's interesting, and also kinda sad, is watching all the psychological "backlash" unfold on the internet. You've got everything from "This game is just cynical tumblr hipster bait. Wake up sheeple!" to "I liked Undertale before it was cool! You're just a bandwagoner!" Apparently just enjoying a game on its own merits is really difficult these days.

  26. I really like the OST to Terranigma and wouldn't mind claiming Final Battle (End boss theme), I think I came come up with something for it.

  27. **FIRST WEEK UPDATE** OK So it's been evidently quiet on the topic thread replies here, but I've been getting a lot of positivity in my PMs. Some claims have been trickling through, namely from Yami and HoboKa at present, and Nitrozsz has very kindly offered his services as an audio aide. There has also been a lot of excitement from other forum members, who are unfortunately too busy with other projects or their own IPs to jump in right now, at least until their own lives are settled. But it seems Terranigma has touched more peeps than I once thought. I won't name them, because it's not fair on them if it turns out they're just too tied up in the future. But what started out as personal worry this album wouldn't happen has become a glimmer of hope and refreshment. I think this album may just be! There's plenty more spaces available. so don't be afraid to PM me or message me in this here thread. Again, If you're not familiar with the game, play it. If you can't play it, listen to the OST in the Youtube link in the OP. It's one of the most haunting and exciting 16-bit OST's I've ever heard. Let's bring these hidden gems of games deservedly into the limelight!

  28. So I've been wondering about something. When I joined OCR in around 2008, seemed like there was a quite an interest in new mixposts. Mixes would get 10-20 reviews, 30-40 if you were lucky. And i'm talking quite in depth reviews, people actually took the time to post honest positive feedback. Fast forward to 2015! - Now, seems like you're lucky to get 5-10 reviews. So my question is this - what happened? Now... sure, YouTube is a new means of getting feedback, but its hardly the same in terms of the quality of the responses you'd get. Getting a "WOW THIS SOUNDS AMAZING" is a lot more common than getting an in-depth response on there, plus many of the comments lack that personal touch you'd get from people on OCR. The mass of comments, for me, made the long wait to get on OCR worth it, whereas now... you wait for about a year, and get a writeup from DJP and about 2 comments on the site. Seems a little anticlimactic compared to how it used to be. I'm just wondering why because personally, I never really looked at many new mixposts ever. I've always just looked at the stuff I wanted to after the fact and ignored the front page generally, so I can't really say what changed. So... 2 questions: 1: Why, if applicable, don't you comment on new mixposts on OCR? 2: How do you suggest the number of reviews is brought back up again?
