  1. I can't help but be a little biased, being a guitarist. I loved the electric guitar, though the gain was just a little high. Good sustain, though. The introduction is, if I'm hearing correctly, an acoustic guitar MIDI or synth patch, right? Oh, how I wish that could have been a real acoustic! It's satisfactory in it's tone, but in comparison to the electric, it just doesn't hold up to make it an even acoustic-electric trade-off. Besides that, this was nice. Drums were pretty good, strings were nice if a little unbelievable (would have liked a little more dampening and reverb to make them more convincing), but otherwise a very nice song!
  2. That intro is absolutely classic. The sounds of all those classic games...it's audio-nostalgia-love. I feel like that's the best part of the song too. The song was enjoyable, especially in that 80's-trying-to-be-futuristic musical sense. The panning on the drums was something I wasn't a fan of, though. Later on, when the panning-effects happen during the break, I liked it a little more, but it just feels very odd an unbalanced otherwise. Also, I like the lack of lots of layering to a point, but this felt a little empty at times. Bringing back the sounds at the end was nice, too. In total, though, this could have had more substance, could have had gone more places, and could have gone longer. Oh well, still pretty cool.
  3. The beginning sounds a little too bare, especially when the drums come in without cymbals. The bass is alright, it's mixed well but what it's playing could be improved to go along with the groove a bit more. For what it is, I enjoyed the song though. I especially enjoyed that brass squeal, and the additional instrumentation. The bass breakdown could have been improved, in my opinion. Almost has a Beverly-Hills-Cop-ish feel to parts of it.
  4. When I heard the original on the project after its release, I didn't think that production could be that much improved. I was very wrong. So very wrong. The improvements seem huge when I listen to them side-by-side. It's not the easiest thing to go back to a song that one's "closed the book on" and attempt to clean it up, but I'm glad you did here. I'll join Avaris in giving some ASS PATS here.
  5. That unmod comment is probably one of the coolest unconventional compliments I've ever received. Kudos, you win an imaginary plushie toy! Thanks for the support, man, and let us hope that the unmod horde doesn't notice your presence. Just slip by that car with the alarm and don't touc- *car alarm goes off* K.B. alerted the horde!!!
  6. My buddy Zero-Shift from the NiGHTSintoDreams.com forums is doing a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure contest. For anyone who's got an interest in winning some Manga, can draw, and be a little creative, you should definitely check it out. Here's a good chunk of his OP, which you can find in full here: "You know what? I love giving things away. I think it's fun, especially this time of year. You know what else I love? JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. It's a contender for my favorite manga of all time and I think it's criminal how little it's known here in the US which has prompted this contest. What's at stake? What are the rules? Read below. The Contest Design your own stand and draw yourself with it. At contests end, the best submission will be selected and the creator wins the entire collection of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure manga that has been released in the US thus far. Runner-ups will get the first volume. What's a Stand? A Stand is a supernatural ability in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. In a nutshell, it's like a physical manifestation or a person's spirit and they all have unique abilities and appearances. For more detail check the link below and go to the "Stand section at the bottom of the page. For whatever reason I can't link directly to it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jojo's_Bizarre_Adventure You can also search JoJo's Bizarre Adventure on Youtube to see some vids of Stands in action. "vs Dio" seems to get good results. You can also Google names of some of the listed Stands to see references. The Rules -Create a Stand and draw a picture of yourself with it. -Describe your Stand's abilities in the image description -Give your Stand a name. Stands are named after bands, albums, songs, or any other kind of music reference. -Though Stands are typically humanoid in appearance they can technically look like almost anything so there are no limits to what your Stand can look like. -Pictures will be judged primarily on originality of the look and ability of the Stand as well as the overall quality of the illustration. The Prize -The winner gets: Volumes 1-13 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure as localized and published by Viz media under the Shonen Jump Advanced line. -The first six runner-ups get: Volume 1 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure as localized and published by Viz media under the Shonen Jump Advanced line. -After a winner is picked, prizes will be mailed out as soon as possible. All expenses including shipping will be paid for by me. The Deadline -Just upload your submission to a gallery somewhere and send me a message with the link. -The deadline is New Years Day for now. It may be slightly extended if enough people express interest but need a bit more time." There haven't been too many entries yet, so you've got a good chance at winning something out of it. Good luck and have fun!
  7. Please remove the PSP-200 soft-mod and the Xbox360 that I put up for sale.
  8. I found it was worth it for the story extension and voice-acting alone. It's a wonderful volume of Ghostbusters nerd-dom, even if the gameplay and direction can sometimes be a little uneven/predictable. I'm looking at the GTA4, Jedi Knight collection, and possibly HAWX myself. But...I dunno. Already have too much I don't play. This sale is ridiculous though.
  9. Please tell me you did Klezmer music, please oh please oh please... Anyways, Brushfire and myself sent in our final last night. Hope everyone enjoys Deeznuts Roasting on an Open Shatner. Stay warm!
  10. That's what I looked like BEFORE the surgery. Also, I did try to correct DJP on how to pronounce halc's name. I did try! Well, here's Episode 7 Part 2 (Pathetic Whale Reloaded) This was a very special episode. Like I said, DJP and Bahamut graced us with their presence, but we also got a preview track from DKC2 - Serious Monkey Business. Thank you, Taucer! Enjoy the episode, guys and gals. I'm gonna go lie down for a few hours.
  11. http://www.mediafire.com/?5iumym1yr1e There's the final version. I altered the intro lead a tad and did some general clean-up. Submitting in a few hours.
  12. Episode 7 Part 2 should be up tonight, if I can manage it. I'll make it an early Christmas present. We had the lovely impromptu pleasure of getting DJPretzel and Bahamut on Part 2, so I'm trying to make them sound a little extra sexy despite the source not being what I'm used to dealing with. Hold tight, folks. Would anyone object to us playing some or all of Dyne's Christmas album once it's out, either as backing tracks or selected tracks for Episode 8? (mainly questioned towards Brushfire and Epicenter )
  13. Wait, you have a birthday? And it's today?

    Mega-edit: HAPPY BIRTDATY

  14. 1) I greatly enjoyed your podcast. Please continue. 2) I hope Emunator picks a really good song for you to remix. 3) I have a fuzzy hat. 4) It's great to see the reviews month going so well, and I wish I had more free time to do them.
  15. It's your birthday. You're a Judge and an admin. You can make your own damn birthday thread.

    Happy birthday, buddy.

  16. Hmm, looks like Thursday and Friday have chances of freezing rain in our area. While I'd love to see everyone, I wouldn't want people to risk higher probability of death and destruction by coming. Let's hope the weather holds out on our favor for Friday.
  17. http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01404/ http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01606/ http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01882/ though I'm sure there's more these are the first ones that come to mind. and a shameless self-plug just for good measure, since I finished one on the WIP-boards and subbed it recently (Mega Man 2 - Metal Man): http://www.mediafire.com/?kic44tcgqzq
  18. She had diabetes type 2 apparently, and was taking pills for "flu-like symptoms". Guess it was just really bad luck and even worse timing. Diabetes can exacerbate already present heart issues, so this is all the more sad.
  19. Yup, the only reason I did mine was for Kyle to not have me on his list of people to threaten for making MotC remixes anymore. You don't know the lurking horrors that go on over at his forums. It's similar to the travesties of the child-workers in Temple of Doom, but 10 times worse...and with grown men and women who remix video game music. Saying words that might actually matter or not, pending a few tweaks from feedback I think this is ready to sub.
  20. I don't know if this has been answered yet or not, though my forum search didn't find anything for it, but is there a particular reason that there are no remixer names on the judge's queue list? I know the post is supposed to be information for people who have submitted mixes or are tracking a mix, so I was curious as to the reason why names aren't listed while the sub date, game name, and song title is listed.
  21. *psssst* Hey, Deia, thanks for reminding me about his birthday today. You should get the credit for this thread.
  22. Happy [beeeeeelated] burfday, dude. Keep the beats flowing.
  23. I too have met Escariot but he apparently has not met me.
  24. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO *gasp* OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO *pant* *wheeze* Bill Cosby will never die.
  25. Double-post for great justice. OverClocked After Dark - Episode 7 - Throbbing Kangaroo in Busytown (Part 1: Jamaican Donkey - The Lost Levels): Episode 7 Part 1 Part 2 - Pathetic Whale Reloaded coming soon.
