  1. Ah, all I need is a sea shanty and the sound of the waves to quell my sorrows. And this song!
  2. Tugs at the heart-strings, it does. Feels like it could be an overture from some old black-and-white classic.
  3. Back 2+ years later to say this really un-rustles the jimmies.
  4. Hits that right note between melancholy and sadness. Very good for bringing mental closure. Good-mix.
  5. Patrick, your song suggestions were a great salve for what's ailed me. Thanks, man. :)

  6. Thanks for your song suggestions. I listened to them in the order you suggested: they really helped :]

  7. Another fantastic mix I can't believe has as few reviews as it does! I've had this on my player for a while but could never remember the name afterwards. Great mix for getting through tough times.
  8. Runs a little short, but tastes like a peppermint cafe mocha during the Holidays : )
  9. I've checked my PC for spyware and the like, haven't found anything. Other sites run fine; also using Avast!. Whenever I reload a forums page inside of ocremix.org, I get asked for a login and password for chamillionaire.com. Anyone else seeing this?
  10. All of your selections are excellent ~ I really enjoyed reading the very nuanced descriptions you put to each one, how some would start off sombre, and brighten on, or other were good for that unexpected rush of bittersweet memories...spot on, spot on. The fact you all put the effort and thought you did into your replies...that, that makes me feel really better. It really does. If I could hug, high-five, or bro-fist everyone of you through the Internet, I would. OCR is a good community : )
  11. Thanks for the responses and supports fellows. I'm going to check them all out ;]
  12. Just wondering, what music do OCR fans listen to when trying to get through emotional pain...it would be good to have some aural therapy right now. I tried listening to some "bright" chiptune'ish stuff, but it's just making me feel worse...and it feels like anything slow I listen to does the same. Sorry if this is a dumb thing to post.
  13. Not sure if newer songs just don't hold my attention the way "older"mixes do, or if I've heard "too many" mixes in this style lately: but the mix seems a bit too simply saccharine, lacking in deeper flavor, on the short side, and doesn't have a satisfying (imo) ending. A sugar shot. Good for when you need that.
  14. Criminally under-reviewed, but then this site churns out so much good music that it's inevitable some great tunes will be over-looked. The title and music really buoy the spirits - it's as if you've just passed through a storm, and the clouds have cleared away...land, ho!
  15. watching the waves lap the sand peacefully... everything is serene, the sky a clear azure blue nary a wind stirs your hair but then a speck of grey on the horizon, a cloud bank, a storm approaches now the tides pick up, grow heavier, rougher.. taller and louder, they barrel against the slick rocks, churning the beach to mud wall after wall of water comes crashing down... then everything harmonizes again, not as peaceful as at first, but no longer as violent great mix
  16. A bold and interesting mix. Certainly well-made, but I found it created for a more jarring-than-grooving mood.
  17. I love that DJP's website linked to in the writeup is so wonderfully laid out - very 90's As to the song? It immediately scrambled my zigs. PS: I clicked for Romz. No joy
