  1. Huh. Punch me in the face if that doesn't sound a lot like the Batman Beyond soundtrack too.
  2. I'm sorry if this has been asked before, and I know the FAQ answers this...a bit. So, on Twitch, I wanted to do a night of OCR mixes. Like a radio show, camera on me as I talk about the song, then screen of just the song playing, back to me after song, repeat. Does this still fit the guidelines of OCR? During the song, it is just the song playing, with the artist and song and site on screen, but I'm not "adding" anything during those moments. I have VOD of me doing this, if needed for clarification and if it's not okay, I'll take it down right away.
  3. I was looking at that! Is it any good? Does it work for someone with the same Mega Man needs?
  4. I got Necrosphere, Alwa’s Awakening, Near Death, NIGHTS into Dreams and the first two Witcher games for about $18.
  5. This is a bit tacky on my end, but when I heard the rumor, I had to get some feelings out. I'm posting the link to said blog, but in short, I prefer the X-Men to be separate from the rest of the Marvel universe. Otherwise, personally, I find the whole mutant concept doesn't work so well. X2 and First Class would not have been better with a Thor or a Doctor Strange. I kind of seem like the minority on this, though. https://ericmikols.com/2017/11/06/the-x-men-work-best-when-outside-the-marvel-universe/
  6. Just start with VII. Dated graphics, but it would be hard to go back to if you play the later games. I'd suggest going in order, because there are fixes and options you'll miss if you go backwards. IX is where they started shortening Summon animations and you'll lose your mind if you have to revert back to all that.VII-X are all great, IMO.
  7. It was a bad game anyway, but I was forgiving of X2: Wolverine's Revenge for the most part. Until I went up against the Juggernaut, that is. That ended my patience with the game and I never beat the thing.
  8. Hey everyone, quick question. Trying to record a podcast. We have three microphones. We have them hooked into a Focusrite 18i8, which is a usb to my laptop. We record with audacity. I can not get the 3rd mic to get through, even though it shows up as working on the headphones and focusrite control. Audacity will not pick it up. What do I not understand, is this fixable?
  9. Glad I looked for this before posting my own! I've been streaming games to keep the late night loneliness away and it works better than I thought it might. Going to have to subscribe to a whole bunch of you now too! https://www.twitch.tv/duskvstweak
  10. I've been adding a bunch of the Sonic and Megaman comics to the kid's section of the library I work at and they're always extremely popular. Super bummed to find out I can't get new ones. A lot of disappointed kids when I don't have Vol. 5 of Sonic the Hedgehog.
  11. These are what I got. I'm not super up on tech so I don't know too much, but I really like them. Great sound for when I'm not using my headset and my wife thinks they look cool too! https://www.amazon.com/GOgroove-BassPULSE-Computer-Speaker-Subwoofer/dp/B004ALYGI2/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1499966371&sr=1-2-spons&keywords=pc+speakers&psc=1
  12. I'm loving my new machine! I'm so behind that I'm playing Mass Effect 1 on it, but I've also been playing Rocket League and it's so, so pretty. Can't wait to start making this PC work for a living!
  13. I'm starting to feel in the minority here. I was completely letdown by what I watched. Remember when you first played Castlevania and you had to deal with the Catholic church persecuting you and then, after completing that two hour introduction, the game finally gave you your first and final boss fight for about ten minutes?
  14. I kept meaning to as you about this during the week, but Stardew Valley keeps sucking up my free time! I'm definitely in the market for a new machine!
  15. I did use Meetup when I was in Florida and it worked for a bit, but then I moved to the rural North. I know this might not sound perfect, but hanging around Twitch and chatting with streamers and viewers has kind of helped. It's not the same, it's not sitting around a table playing games and joking, or going to the movies, ect. It's kind of the caffeine-free soda of hanging out with people.
  16. So, I work at a library and we're going to create a video game collection that patrons can check out. Being primarily a pc gamer, I'm not as knowledgeable on console games as I used to be. Basically, any suggestions? Probably keep it PS4/XBox One but the previous generations aren't out completely. We'll probably wait until the Nintendo Switch to get Nintendo Games, but 3DS is good. Since they'll be checked out and returned, it can't be something that multiple people can't use. I'm not sure what the online console world is like anymore. Would Battlefront or Titanfall work for this? Also, keep in mind, that we'll be sticking with E-T ratings and kids and teens will be the ones that see the collection the most. Thanks!
  17. I'm Head of Youth Services at the library I work at and I'm looking to start a Indie PC Game Club for teens. Indie, by the way, because they're cheaper! I'll be using GOG mainly, no Steam or client-based gaming. I was looking for any advice for games. The more replay-ability something has, the better. Stuff that's super story heavy won't really work, they'll only have about two hours a week to play. But if you think there's something that would work, I'd love to hear about it. The games I was looking into were the following; Zombie Night Terror FTL: Faster Than Light Stardew Valley Shovel Knight Crypt of the Necrodancer Torchlight II Botanicula Don't Starve Terraria Towerfall: Ascension Braid and Roller Coaster Tycoon because I'm stuck in my ways!
  18. Yeah, the more I moved around during and post-college, the smaller my friends group got, especially locally. And I'll look for you next time I'm on. You're right, and it's part of the reason I've had a hard time going to game stores and joining in. I get to play the games, sure, but I've made almost zero connections. So much time is spent learning game and playing, I don't have time to even ask questions.
  19. I did play a lot of Donkey Kong Country, Mario Kart and Street Fighter II with my mom as a 7 year old...
  20. I'm honestly surprised this isn't a thing. How is that true?
  21. You're not wrong about the writing, which is a big reason I even started this post. And it's been extremely encouraging hearing that this isn't an isolated experience. I guess this is just part of life. Also, you're in the right for wanting to talk about Castlevania! Thanks for the advice and encouragement. This whole thread has been very helpful too me today.
  22. Actually, one of my friends I have around here is a recent parent, which means hanging out with him has been almost a no-go too! Kids to make it busy (like you needed me to confirm that for you).
  23. I've been going through Rock Paper Shotgun this week. It's seems like a good choice. Thanks.
  24. I'm in the rural, lost parts of Western, NY, 90 minutes out of Buffalo, Rochester and Erie, PA. Moved here for my job (teen librarian) but haven't really settled in the year I've been here. You're probably right about meetup. I've gone on it before and there's been nothing happening near me, but like Meteo Xavier said, I'm probably going to have get out of my comfort zone and make it happen. No reason I can't start the meetup. And I really should check into the big multiplayers. Outside of League, I don't play too many MMO-types. Maybe it's time to suck it up and play them. Also, thanks for confirming 30+ isn't an easy time to make friends. Its nice knowing it's not just me.
