I love to see the themes that have a stark contrast to the rest of the soundtrack. To me, this contrast makes the battle stand out, as if to say "the gloves are off, this shit is serious." Take, for example, Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. Here is the normal boss theme: Pretty good, and very lighthearted. Now contrast that with the final battle:

Hmmmmmmmm....... On one hand, this would be a great chance for me to get better...on the other, this would take a lot of time... I'm a definitely maybe. I probably wouldn't get much farther than round 1. XD

I approve of this thread. Tulsa's a cool place, I'm going to go to college there so I could probably manage a visit depending on what mah parents think. As for places, The Brook on Utica square is always a favorite of mine, there's also some good places downtown. There's also Cains ballroom for music stuffs. We could see if there's a good concert then and go to that if you guys want.

I agree with the fact that it sounds wet; that's making the track sound messy. That bass at the first is a good example. EQ things. that will help a lot to clean stuff up. Rozovian has a really sweet remixing guide that helped me a lot with how EQ works. Your leads aren't THAT bad, but they are getting lost behind everything else. I would advice bringing them out to see how they sound before switching them out. Arrangement is pretty nice. Good work.

DOOD KIRBY TOTES STOLED FROM KIRBYZ. GUISE KIRBYY SO PLAGURIZES! There was a thread similar to this a while back about video game samples in modern music. Personally, I think its crazy that VGM gets shut out just because its VGM. Whenever someone tries to tell me that VGM sucks I show them this guy: This won a Grammy. Even the "sheeple" have to admit that means something.

DUDE. I played the shit out of this game when I was little. Anyway, nostalgia aside, that kick at the beginning sounds really loud for the rest of the song. I'd advice compressing it. The bass in the middle sounds pretty bland and could get repetitive. Maybe layer in some different basses to make a thicker fuller sound, or find another synth. The only other issue is that there isn't enough here. Write some more and it will hopefully help to show any other issues.

Guitars sound nice enough. Background sounds a little muddy. Not enough to make the song sound bad, but its just a nitpicky thing that I could hear. (at about 1:28 on in the video is where I'm talking about. It could be that its just uploaded to YouTube. If you want to make sure something sounds nice, upload the mp3 to a file sharing website. I use soundcloud and it's really nice. Good guitar for the most part though. Sounds nice

I'm late to the party, but I just found time to listen to this all the way through. Holy crap man. this is amazing. I particularly enjoyed Nostalgia and JPEG (both versions of both songs - credit to halc as well). Keep up the sexy, jazz-chiptune work. :3

Yupp, thats pretty much all I'll buy all year. Unless I continue my ingenious idea of waiting a year to buy good games. I might actually start assassin's creed series this year.

WHY DOES EVERY ZELDA DUBSTEP MIX USE HEY LISTEN. STOP IT. ...sorry about that. Its pretty good arrangement-wise, but, like everyone here, I think the production on it is lacking. EQ's are your friend. So is soundcloud/tindeck/any MP3 hosting site

Firstly, screw everything about the Music box house. Ahem. Anyway. Trumpets near the end sounded weird/out of the ensemble. Snare at the first was pretty loud. Cool stuff.

I agreed with a lot of what is said here, especially the part about the hi hat. I'd suggest thickening it for sure; it sounds really tinny right now. Overall, it sounds like the drums are getting drowned out by the bass/everything else. Hey listen gets annoying after a while, but it seems like you're changing that anyway. I didn't really notice the laugh at first, but now that I do, you might try messing with it for kicks (like you do with the hey listen). Good job at taking an ambient source and transforming it into something kickin.
