Free Delay from IZotope
Brandon Strader replied to Dissidia's topic in Music Composition & Production
I love iZotope, they're a good company. When I'm not using default built-in plugins from Cubase, I grab iZotope Nectar 2 or Ozone. Good company. -
Final Fantasy VIII: Collision Course - History
Brandon Strader replied to Brandon Strader's topic in Projects
Just so everyone knows, I want to point this out while the thread is still in Community and people will be able to see it. What's going to happen eventually is that this thread will get moved to the Projects subforum where you will be able to monitor and post in it there. Just because the thread is moved or doesn't show up in Community anymore doesn't mean that the project is cancelled or some nonsense! So I want you to be aware, especially people who probably aren't too familiar with how the forums work, there's a Projects subforum and this will be there at some point. Please don't drop your claims because you can't find the thread! -
Strangely enough, mithius was also working on something with Crystal Cave, but I'm not sure whether he was doing a Crystal Cave mix, or some kind of crazy 20 minute medley type thing like he did for ff1. Also he was missing for a couple months but just showed back up yesterday. I thought he left. One of those weird things I guess. I have high hopes.

Did I get bad at making remixes? Is that why I don't have anything to be posted now?

I hope more interviews are done. I would like to do interviews, either as an interviewer or interviewee. I've done interviews before, though to be completely honest my sample interview is not up to the quality I'd bring to OCR. But at the same time it's an evidence of collaboration between writer and editor, gotta do what you're told. You know what question I'm talking about. (If you even bother checking). And yes, I've done other ones, but that one, for whatever reason, was my most notable. How would it work as integration with OCR Blogs, or is that something else from what I am imagining? The forum blogs were meant to be individual blogs for each user, right? So would there be a specific account (OCR Interviews) or something of that nature which would post the interviews?

OC ReMix Reddit AMA! Tue., Feb. 23rd, 12PM!
Brandon Strader replied to Liontamer's topic in General Discussion
I probably should have asked this sooner instead of being goofy, but are remixers allowed to answer/field questions during AMA? Or only official OCR responses? -

I like that. Whenever you see someone doing an AMAA it's like why even bother. Glad you got the stones to answer everything. Tho not sure what people would ask that you'd not want to answer anyway, haha. How is it unpaid, doesn't Reddit know you guys are as notable as other celebrities? -

How much do AMAs pay? Is it gonna be an AMA or an AMAA? -
It needs some PIZAZZ!! It's too straightforward! Also please share the WIPs in private so that everybody's not all up ons listening to it before it's even released That bass sound is weird too, man. Weird. Not that it needs to be more prominent, but I'm not diggin' the sound as a bass sound. You oughta try switching things up a bit with the arrangement cause right now it's following a bit closely to the original

The Most Brazen Copyright Infringement I've seen
Brandon Strader replied to AngelCityOutlaw's topic in General Discussion
The name was because we give old clocks a do-over. Makes more sense than what you people do on this website. As a counter-claim, might I suggest you change your site's name to NothingToDoWithClocks NothingToDoWithRemixes, a fan arrangement community -

Hey, have you guys heard of my new business OverClocked ReMix? It's a pretty damn big thing over in Europe. We specialize in mixing paint for use on old clocks. -
Spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie, Yooka-Laylee
Brandon Strader replied to Neifion's topic in General Discussion
I don't even remember if I posted in this thread before, but wanted to say... I fought it, and fought it, and fought it, internally.. but now I am mentally ready to accept a spiritual successor to Banjo Kazooie. IT WON'T EVER REPLACE OR BE AS GOOD AS BANJO KAZOOIE, but it'll be its own thing. -
This is always gonna be the best song ever. It's in the lyrics... you can't really argue with it

The thing about albums is that if you really like a game and its soundtrack, you should commit to doing the album for that game.. not asking if people are interested and posting a few different album ideas, etc etc... because people will start to see a pattern of stuff not happening and they'll question the validity of the project you eventually decide on.. what's to stop you from being like "Undertale is old hat now.. hey this new game just dropped, wow this song is cool! hey you guys wanna do an album for this!?" I also disagree on choosing something popular to do 'just because'. Even if you choose something that isn't really popular, you can still find people who care about that music as much as you should (if you're doing an album for it).. pick something that really appeals to you on a personal level, and follow it through. That's more important than gauging interest in a bunch of things and deciding to do what other people like the most. but what do I know, I'm crazy!

I totally haven't downloaded your stems yet so please keep them active for now! I got sidetracked with unpleasant things. -
Next Monday is World Hate Day then? I don't think that's a good idea though. When has the album ever really been about hating the world? I get it, we remixed boss themes, doesn't mean we have to be maniacs.

Original songs are hard to make, then sending out the stems for it is basically giving away the copyright or ownership of the song... and not being able to monetize it? Not really something I'd contribute to, or have the time to mix someone else's song for free () but it's a cool idea anyway!

What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day, than with BadButt 3: The Album!

Final Fantasy VIII: Collision Course - History

That's a FF NES trilogy thang Hi. I am editing in a little something here I wanted to say. Shortly after announcing this project, a facebook friend informed me that there was another FF8 album coming out soon from a different group of people. I guess I was told as a warning, perhaps because there'd be some conflict between that album and this one. I told him I didn't see it that way and I don't. I don't mean any offense to the other project, I'm sure it will have some great stuff on it, however... looking at the claims list here, I know these people. I've heard of them, I've heard their work and I know that a high level of quality will be attained with this album. So looking past the obvious thing of OCR album releases being really top notch with websites, artwork, trailers, etc... we'll still have that edge of the increased quality control, but through the project process and through the evaluation / submissions panel. I'm not "denouncing" anything. I'm going to check out that "other" album, even though I think it's going to cost money. I'm not going to buy it. But I'll preview some of it. If you were involved with that album and chose to contribute here too, that is awesome. I appreciate every artist who has signed on here for the love of the soundtrack and love of working on music in general. If I could pay you guys I would (looking at the list of claims, I'd have to be damn rich to give each person what they deserve). I am glad that your passion surpasses the idea of a measly percentage of a percentage of sales. So that's it. I didn't know about it, now I do, but it doesn't change anything, and I hope none of you are discouraged either. We'll show the world what a real FF8 album sounds like, and OCR's release package will be a thing of beauty.
