  1. Yeah, pretty much the only people I know who snub their nose at RB/GH are collegate musical elitists. And even then, the few that I've managed to convince to give the games a shot actually admitted that they were pretty fun.
  2. That makes sense... if Dooku fell to the dark side as long ago as they make it sound in Ep2, then he was probably a dark jedi around the time of Ep1, even though there were already 2 sith: Palpatine and Darth Maul. It does make me wonder why we never saw any dark jedi besides the sith though. Also, how does one go about class-changing from dark jedi to sith? What's the actual difference between the two?
  3. Make it Halo specific and I'll wear it. Or you are some kind of musical prodigy, and in that case, more power to you, but understand that not everyone can pick it up that quickly and actually sound good. I've been told that I picked up guitar pretty quickly, but it still took me at least a year before I could actually say I was proficient. I pretty sure I still can't play a lot of the songs in the guitar hero series.
  4. Heh. Try 5 or 6. I'll get a new one when I actually have money to spend.
  5. Very impressive. I especially liked your voice work. Any plans to release this on other platforms besides Xbox Live? I don't have 360, but I'd really like to play.
  6. Sounds interesting. Are there any good episodes online, so I could get a feel for the show?
  7. I'm running a laptop with a mobile AMD Athlon XP2800+ processor, 1gb RAM, and the display is a Radeon IGP 320M. I've always had a tough time running games on this machine, and I believe it's because the Radeon is integrated on the motherboard and it's only got about 64MB of memory. Heck, I have difficulties with YouTube sometimes.
  8. Those are some cool entries. The Captain Planet one is hilarious.
  9. Happy birthday dude. Phill, what is the anime in your sig? I really like the art style.
  10. Man, why does the East Coast get all the cool stuff? Though I was thinking of going to New York sometime, and this could be a good way to save some gas money.
  11. I have an excuse: my computer is crap and won't run it. Still, for $10 I bought it anyway. I'll hopefully upgrade my system soon enough.
  12. You say anarchy like it's a bad thing. This sounds very reminiscent of the ideas of Yin and Yang. Interesting.
  13. Oh, sorry. I think I misunderstood you. I thought you meant that the Pirate Bay should check all the torrents for infringing material. I agree with you that the best bet is to simply comply with copyright claims, as I sort of alluded to (though maybe not very clearly) in my response to AoJ in the same post.
  14. Amen to that. We should all get little "Halo is overrated" badges for our sigs. That would be awesome. I've never played any sports games, nor have I played Cooking Mama. I do however, very much enjoy Guitar Hero, even though I am fairly competent with a real guitar. Why? Because in real life, I can't just pick up a guitar on a whim and rock out to some classic tunes in front of thousands of screaming fans with my expertly trained cover band that follows me everywhere. It has the same appeal as any action game: it simulates something you can't do in real life, or at least not without some extraordinary circumstances. That, and there's something addicting about watching those little dots fly by and trying to hit the corresponding button on my controller in rhythm with the backing music. I don't know what, but I think it stimulates some part of the brain. Probably the same part that Tetris does and definitely the same one as DDR.
  15. I remember back in the early Napster days when every comedy song was labeled as "Weird Al" and every pop punk song was labeled as Blink 182. For some reason that is beyond me, giving files inaccurate names is very, very common in the filesharing community. I would think it would be pretty hard to do that. Some of those files are huge. It's like asking YouTube to watch every video that has a title that sounds like it might infringe on copyrights... it would be nigh impossible to manage. And herein lies the problem. It would be a completely different situation if the they would remove infringing links at the request of the copyright holder, again much in vein of YouTube. At least then they could say they were trying to cooperate.
  16. I'm going to vote for Chicago myself, because it's a lot closer, but I have no complaints about St. Louis. Also, WTF BBQ FTW.
  17. Not that I think piracy is right, but up until recently the DRM was more than enough reason not to use iTunes. Some people might have issue with the whole watermarking thing too. I've never used Steam myself, but my brother (who also is not a pirate) has voiced some complaints about the restrictions on some of his Steam downloads. Also, I'm sure it's been said before, but this whole trial is like suing Google for all the illegal stuff on the internet. Again, I don't support piracy, but I support the Pirate Bay. I've used it many times to find perfectly legal stuff, and on occasion, download DRM-free versions of things I have legitimately purchased.
  18. I definitely like this. Putting the comments on the main song page should really help get more reviews posted. Heck, I'll probably wind up reviewing more because of it. Something needs to be done about the scrolling down thing though. Kinda of confused me at first, and a bet a lot of people who don't read the write-ups will miss it. Maybe you could have a narrower/abridged comments section on the side (with a "read more" button that takes you to the vBulletin version), right underneath the eStarland ad? Just throwing ideas out there.
  19. QFT. It gets kinda lonely here in Cincy, but I can't blame anyone for wanting to stay far away from this craphole of a state.
  20. I can't say whether or not I'll be able to make it for sure, but early June has the highest probability of me being available.
  21. Original JK was also an awesome game, especially with mods. One of my favorite gaming memories that I like to brag about was when I got accused of cheating and was kicked from a game because a guy unloaded all the ammo from his Rail Detonator at me, and I just stood there and shot them all out of the air with the Bryar Pistol.
  22. How would being a board member of a copyright organization POSSIBLY be a conflict of interest in a case against the Pirate Bay? That just seems silly.
  23. What are you talking about? There are no nerds here.
  24. Well, the whole point kinda was that you were a Jedi... so using the lightsaber the whole time was probably intentional. The guns were still really useful in multiplayer though. I can't remember the name of the mod, but it was a lot of fun... basically, it was a team deathmatch where one side was all Jedi with all of the force powers, and the other side was "bounty hunters" with all of the guns and some new gadgets like jetpacks and grappling hooks. I found it to be surprisingly well balanced, and it added an interesting tactical aspect to the game, where you had to know what your opponents were capable of, and learn how to attack/defend against them with your own abilities.
