  1. Yeah, I loved the bar fight at the beginning of the level, but the snipers get annoying fast. Kinda funny, because the Disruptor is just about the only sniper rifle in the history of video games that I actually enjoy being a part of the game. Something about the snipers in that level get real old fast... though if you've bought up your Force Speed, it will occasionally auto dodge in bullet time, which is hella cool. Nar Shaddaa in multiplayer, on the other hand, is a great map. Just watch out for Force Push/Force Grip. A perfect mix of gunfights and epic lightsaber battles on high-up catwalks with no railing.
  2. This thread is relevant to my interests. My voice is my main instrument. I can play guitar and piano decently (i.e., I'm good, but not great). I've done plenty of live stuff with other musicians before, so I'm pretty comfortable with being on stage. Next month I'll be taking a multitracking class at my college. After I'm done (around June) I should have a better understanding of recording bands, and I should have free access to the recording studio as well. Can't make any promises though.
  3. That game was the shit. Let me know if you wanna fight sometime, I'll try to find my old copy.
  4. Cincinnati, Ohio. It's weird because even though it's a pretty big town, I have yet to meet any OCR members who live nearby.
  5. Ohio would be best for me, but I'll try to make it wherever we wind up deciding on. I could work with early June, or possibly sometime in July. May would be difficult but not necessarily impossible, especially if I could get a ride.
  6. I'm a maybe. Like I said before, it all depends on how my money/transportation situation turns out.
  7. Has anyone else ever noticed that there's only two black men in the Star Wars universe at any given time? In the beginning there was Mace Windu and that one black security guy for the queen. Then security guard suddenly disappears and is replaced by the dude with the eye patch. Captain Eye-Patch disappears, probably about when Lando is being conceived. Then, almost immediately after Mace Windu dies, Anakin mysteriously becomes James Earl Jones. There's always two.
  8. I think he can make it. I don't know if any of you knew this already, but he's a trombone prodigy, and a pretty good one too. Even though he can't really improvise.
  9. I've always felt that Soule's music was pretty unique. Sometimes the differences are subtle, but you can usually tell his style apart from other composers pretty easily if you're familiar with it. This should be interesting. I liked the music in Battlestar Galactica, though I kinda got tired of hearing the same drums over and over. EDIT: Just watched the video. Love the direction he's going with the music. The samples they played were great. Classic sci-fi stuff. The game looked pretty sweet too. Hope they don't screw it up.
  10. It really doesn't sound anything like the Zelda song. If anything, it sounds kinda like that one Timbaland song, except his version has drums and Nelly Furtado singing over it.
  11. Just so you know, under that logic you should also boycott AOL, New Line Cinema, Time Inc., HBO, Turner Broadcasting System, The CW Television Network, TheWB.com, UBU Productions, Warner Bros. Entertainment, Kids' WB, The CW4Kids, Cartoon Network, CNN, DC Comics, and Mohawk Productions (according to Wikipedia). Not there's anything wrong with that if you choose to do so, but personally, I'd just stick with avoiding all services directly related to Time Warner.
  12. Dammit, KB, I didn't know it was a spoiler until you said it. Anyway, this is a great project. I wish I could come up with these things. The robot is adorable, though it still really surprised me when she said that all of the robots so far have made it to their destination unharmed. Gave me back a little bit of faith in humanity. Cool music too. Thanks for the link, Larry.
  13. Yay! One less year til EdgeCrusher is dea... Uh, I meant... happy birthday!
  14. Happy birthday. Your posts always make me laugh.
  15. I use a Firefox extention call NetVideoHunter. I'm not sure about the technical specifics, but I haven't noticed any quality loss on any videos. One of the cooler features is that it keeps a list of all the videos you've watched and you can go back and download them, even if you've navigated away from the page or closed the browser since then.
  16. Ah. That answers a lot of questions I had. Can't believe I didn't think to check Ars Technica myself. Thanks.
  17. Man. That sucks. Don't you love it when big companies can pull this crap, because they essentially have a monopoly on the market? I learned my lesson about Time Warner years ago when they gave us the run around with their cable service.
  18. I don't know what unholy pact you had to make with Satan to get that guitar sound at 2:00, but it sounds like it was worth it. The violin totally caught me by surprise (in a good way). For some reason, I really like the drums on this one too, despite their simplicity. I've got this image in my head of Sixto sitting in his studio working on this song, trying to resist the pull of his guitar like it was the One Ring, but finally giving in and letting rip on it.
  19. How are the shop channel, web browsing, and SD card features? Those are the one's I'm really interested in. It would be cool to check a few websites or do IRC chats without purchasing mobile internet or lugging my laptop around everywhere. Also, I imagine the SD card opens up a whole new world when it comes to homebrew stuff, which is always fun.
  20. Seriously. Switch ISPs. If they start losing enough customers, they'll either quit pulling stuff like this (or they'll lose a lot of money and blame it on something else). I was thinking about switching too, until I read this. The other major alternative in my town tends to be a bit unreliable (and I'm starting to wonder if they are monitoring my internet usage), but at least they don't restrict how I use the web. I might be misunderstanding how this stuff works, but doesn't it cost more for them to have customers who use more bandwidth? Grandma is probably paying just as much as everyone else, even if all she's doing is looking at cute kitten videos and forwarding chain emails. (Though not by any means do I agree with what they are doing.)
  21. Oink, ye, uttered beast.

  22. Why is it that when an OC Remixer posts here saying that he wrote a "heavy metal / classic Japanese shamisen song" for "Japan's #1 boy band", it doesn't surprise me in the slightest? Anyway, for what it's worth, it a pretty sweet track. Very catchy. Key change FTW.
  23. Awesome, Neko. I've been waiting for this one since you told me about it at the Louisville meetup. Lives up to and far exceeds my expectations. There's not much I can say about it that hasn't already been said: Guitar work was fantastic Loved the variations on the theme Drums were a bit repetitive and lacked punch, but the overall energy of the song easily made up for it
