  1. Ooh ooh ooh oh ohhh!!!!! DO WANT!
  2. Not familiar with the source, but this song stands on it's own just fine. I love how intense it is, while at the same time not being overly energetic. I respectfully have to disagree with Monobrow about the solos. While it may have been fun, I feel that a solo would have drawn too much attention to itself, and this song seems to deliberately try and sit in the background. It's one of those peices that relies more creating a cool ambience (and does so quite well) than it does on hooks and flashiness. Even the key change was subtle (which is impressive btw). Also, the tone on the lead is PERFECT. And that wah-sounding rhythmic synth is pretty sweet too.
  3. Why is it that all this awesome stuff comes out when I have no money?
  4. You totally just got grouped in with Jose and the Pussycats. How does that make you feel?
  5. In the end, I can live without ever knowing why he left, where he went, or what he's doing with his life. I just want to know that he's out there somewhere and he's doing okay. The thought of him having died quietly and the many people he's touched not even knowing about it scares the hell out of me. He was a good guy, and I hope he's alright.
  6. I actually enjoyed My Bloody Valentine 3D for this very reason. It was very deliberately, and average, predictable, campy throwback to cheesy 80s slasher flicks in 3D... things popping out at you and everything. Also, did you say July 7? That's mah birfday! This movie had better be good, Mr. Rodriguez.
  7. I think a Metroid movie could work, but you'd have to go in an extreme, experimental, artsy-fartsy direction with it... and in the end, it probably wouldn't have the mass appeal to do all that well, and no one would fund it. I've toyed around with the idea of a action/revenge twist on Mega Man. Mega Man makes a Kill Bill-style list of the 9 robot masters (and at the bottom in all caps it says "KILL WILY") and starts hunting them down one by one.
  8. It helps a lot that Rodriguez is a very good, diverse director and storyteller who most of Hollywood seems to genuinely enjoy working with. Granted, it's not like everything he touches is gold, but if anyone is going to resuscitate the series, it's him.
  9. Screw it. This thread needs to come back. It's impossible for this much win to stay down for very long. When do we get started on the I, Pokemon project?
  10. Wes Funny thing is, if I didn't know you were an oldtimer around these parts, I could totally see someone new around here asking that question in complete seriousness. I can't believe it's been that long since virt last had a mix on the site. Wonder if this means there's any chance of Jake's removed stuff getting reposted. I'm glad to see that would have healed enough for this to happen. The fact that there's another mix of his on the site, is almost more exciting than the mix itself. Speaking of the remix (nice transition, right?), I'm really digging it. I think Wes' comment, "cheesy trance that works" is a perfect description of this tune. It's got that awesome thumpy, danceable bassline, the rhymthic, mid-range chords, and the screaming, catchy lead that makes the genre so much fun. Coincidentally, this is one of my favorite sources from the game as well, so that probably helps a lot in giving me a positive opinion of this mix. Also, VIRT. wtf awesome.
  11. How did I miss this thread before? I might have to contribute something now, even if it is a bit late in the game.
  12. Sweet. I'll probably be a bit late to the party, but I'll do my best to be there. Should I hold off listening until then, or should I cave and listen now? Hmm...
  13. Man, I don't think I even ever talked to the guy one-on-one... but he sure was a nice guy. Always took notice when he posted. This thread always gets me feeling nostalgic and slightly depressed.
  14. Still haven't beaten 9. Doesn't mean I'm not going to buy this one anyway though.
  15. They probably went around looking for artist names and entered them into a list manually so they could copypasta it into the spam later. Your's likely just got typo'd.
  16. Wait, so is this like a GoldenEye community mod for the source engine? Or is it some kind of official game? Cool tunes, btw.
  17. Gotcha. Well, I can't say I really know much about them, but I assume that since JVC professional cameras are so good, that it's gotta be a similar situation with their consumer grade stuff. I know what you mean about the quality. I got a FlipHD for Christmas, and while at first I thought I would be annoyed with the lack of features like white balancing and manual focusing, I was really surprised at how high quality it was for only $150. It sounds like you're going for something a bit bigger than that, but I get what you're saying. What kind of stuff are you planning on doing with it?
  18. If you're wanting to stay under 800 euros, you're going to be hard pressed to find anything of professional or prosumer grade without buying used. Did a bit of web browsing on the subject, and as far as I've been able to find, the cheapest NEW prosumer HD camcorder is this guy for a little over $1500 USD (about 1100 euro). That being said, I really like JVC cameras. However Sonys are great too, and you'll likely find them in the lowest price range. My recommendation: Spend a lot of time getting to know eBay and Craigslist.
  19. Here's a chiptune themed techno song I did for a class project on MIDI. I'm really happy with it for something I pretty much did overnight. It's more or less a finished product, but your advice is still welcome.
  20. lol. I don't have the 360 to play Ninja Gaiden II on, but you're definitely right about the first one. I think it's one of the things I loved about it though. There are so few games that are actually challenging anymore.
  21. Cool. This should make navigating around there a bit easier. Do you think the name change will increase traffic to "Post Your Game ReMixes!" and "Post Your Originals!"?
  22. I have quite a few of them... Chrono Trigger, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Zelda: Link's Awakening, Cave Story, Skies of Arcadia, Max Payne 1 and 2 for the compelling stories. Super Metroid (the music and the general atmosphere never get old. Good way to blow a few hours) Ninja Gaiden (The xbox one. Something about the controls just feels absolutely perfect to me. No matter how hard that game gets, I feel like an utter badass whenever I get that perfect combo). Jedi Outcast (and really the whole Jedi Knight series. You just can't top an FPS that lets you use lightsabers.) Obvious high-replay value games like Super Smash Bros Brawl, Tetris, Tetris Attack, Street Fighter II Turbo, Bejeweled, Guitar Hero, DDR, etc. I'm sure I missed a few. Like I said, I have a lot of them.
