3. completed Metal Slug 3 - Desert Theme Remaster
JonMan94 posted a topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Hello Guys, posting my first real piece of work that I feel like I can truly be happy with game-music wise, it's a remaster of the 4th level theme from Metal Slug 3, as in it stays more or less with the original source material, however all of the original instruments were redone with either higher-quality samplers or recorded with real guitars and bass. The track itself is looped once but it does have a definite ending piece worked in, as this song was basically a testing ground for me to really get my mix and mastering workflow just right, I have much more detailed remixes planned for the future. Tracked, Mixed and Mastered in REAPER through a Focusrite Scarlet 2i4 with Audio Techinica ATM-M50X Headphone Monitors and the IK Multimedia iLoud Micro Monitors. -
Hello! This is my attempt at making a remix for the notorious F.A.T.E. music from the MMO Final Fantasy XIV. I was going for an old school Arch Enemy (Burning Bridges era) and Nightwish feel, so it's heavy as fudge but with piano and violin accompaniment to make it also soaring and epic. https://soundcloud.com/dremorachurl/the-second-eyes Here's the original track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJSM4tAeEAA

So when I heard the Super Mario Odyssey theme "Jump In, Super Star!" I was like whaaat! Its Big Band Jazz! So knowing me I had to add some vocals to it. I decided to add my own adlibs but do it in the style of a quartet. The female voice is in the original song but all the male voice are mine. Enjoy!

Hello! This is my first post here, I've just recently registered. I'm here to get some general feedback on my remix, I'll not submit it to OC ReMix. I'm an amateur musician (basically a hobbyist), but I really enjoy making these remixes, it's tons of fun! My remix (compressed YouTube video): Original produced audio file of my remix: https://www.dropbox.com/s/bsq5tydm4ssc75o/Ruthless Child - Wicked Child [NES Castlevania] Remix by Rodrigo M. I have no idea what time signature it's in. I believe that it's in 1/4, but I could be wrong I made three versions No 1. is in the key of D and it's in "8-bit" Format https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1cNg5GTkCUIS21vSWV0UXJFMWs No. 2 is made with the "Soundfont" in the original key of C https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1cNg5GTkCUINHBWNUFuYnRFXzQ (Yes. The drums are the Roland sf2 power drum set) No. 3 is an "African" style with marimbas and bells and what not; also in the key of C https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1cNg5GTkCUIN042amtPeWRGQkk These were all made using Fruity Loops; with Morphine and the LttP soundfont. ENJOY! Reviews are welcome.

First-time post here, but I've been ghosting about for years ever since sequencing midis & entering composition contests over at VGMusic (as 'Spudge' if you've got a long memory!) I've just finished (I hope!) an orchestral arrangement of Phoenix Wright's Objection! theme from Spirit of Justice. I've tried to loosely ape Joe Hisaishi's style from his Studio Ghibli scores, closest to the theme from Howl's Moving Castle, but sadly nowhere near as jazzy! I'd love your thoughts on the arrangement and instrumentation; I was hugely limited by the native sounds in Logic Pro X, so strings play a much smaller role than I would have liked - but does let the piano take center stage. (...I know it's probably a mistake to have mentioned Studio Ghibli, as Hisaishi is an untouchable compositional powerhouse! But I can't deny I had his themes & approach in mind as I was arranging the thing). Thanks! EDIT: Sorry - here's the source VG track!

3. completed Mega Man 3 - Boss Battle - "Gamma Buster"
narcodis posted a topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Hey, this is the first time I've posted anything here! I'm a big fan of what goes on here, so now I'm trying to get involved. I'm a big fan of the NES Mega Man soundtracks, and battle music in general really. This track here is my favorite boss battle theme from the Mega Man series. Arrangement-wise I'm mostly happy with things. Though I've played music for a long time, there's still a ton I don't know about audio production, but I think this one is sounding pretty good so far. 3. completed Besaid Island - Final Fantasy X
Robert DelSole posted a topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
I had an old account that I hadn't logged into in about 7 years (2010) and needless to say I don't have that info anymore. If any of you remember Arsal, hey! Anyway, I'd been working on a remix of the Besaid Island Theme on and off for about 8 years or so and I finally reached something I liked a few months back. A bunch of my friends have suggested submitting it to OCR, but I really feel it's not quite there yet. Remix in question: And in case you're not familiar with the original source: Main things I'm looking for advice on are the drums and the ending. Some people I've shown this to say the drums are too repetitive. I personally love them as is, I'm more curious if it's really that glaring of an issue rather than advice on how to fix them. What I do need advice on how to fix though is the ending. It pretty much just exists because I don't wanna do a fade out for a song like this, but I don't think it's particularly good as is. I would like to eventually submit a remix of this song to the site, but I wanna get this version solid first even if it's not solid enough to submit. Thanks!
