big giant circles Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 *update* This happens at 8pm ET / 5pm PT tonight. You can watch on TV, or on Spike's website, and you get to pick your camera angle. Kinda cool. http://www.spike.com/event/vga2009/page/live-camera Quote
linkspast Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I voted... Its nice not having to register for something I dont care too much about.. Also looking at the wii`s game of the year.. . Makes me sad. Quote
Thalzon Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Spike has never had any credibility as an authority of videogames. Regardless, I gave a few votes. I feel like such a tool. Quote
Bahamut Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Some of those categories...best DLC, really? Quote
A Random Tiger Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 It's SpikeTV, so I wouldn't surprised if Halo 3 and MW2 won every award, even the categories they're not in. Quote
Gollgagh Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 i am offended that they dont have my favorite games up for best game!!!! Quote
Scufo Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I went through like 8 categories before stopping because the only nominee I have played is l4d2. Quote
big giant circles Posted November 19, 2009 Author Posted November 19, 2009 It's SpikeTV, so I wouldn't surprised if Halo 3 and MW2 won every award, even the categories they're not in. Well then vote Quote
The Derrit Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 this would be a great thing if the same games weren't nominated for EVERY CATEGORY at least 5 of the categories had 3 games from the "game of the year" category and then one other wildcard to appease people, and there are multiple categories that have the same 6 games scattered through them over and over. there is no variety to choose from. at least they're letting people vote though Quote
Arcana Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Thing that annoyed me the most is that at least three of the games that were nominated came out two days ago and about a day before the awards were announced. Left 4 Dead 2 Super Mario Bros. Wii Assassins' Creed 2 You'd think there would be a cutoff point. Quote
Devyn Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 This is kinda stupid. Most of the games I see here are just ultraviolent blood-and-gore games. But fuck it, I'm voting for whatever games I know. Edit: Quit voting after third category. It's like these lists were made by 12-year-old X-Box fanboys. Quote

Voted, regardless. Plugged L4D2 as much as possible, of course - not that it'll do much good against Call of Doody. Quote
Devyn Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 That's cool if you want to vote, I just couldn't vote anymore because all they put on there were bloody games with guns. If that's your cup of tea, fine, but I think that they forgot 20 other genres of games. Quote

Vivi22 Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Edit: Quit voting after third category. It's like these lists were made by 12-year-old X-Box fanboys. I'd agree with this statement for the most part, though Dragon's Souls got nominated for best RPG. It may be deserving of it, but I really didn't see it coming considering this is an awards show where 3 of the 4 nominees for best soundtrack are music games like Guitar Hero, Rock Band, etc. Quote
big giant circles Posted December 13, 2009 Author Posted December 13, 2009 FYI this is happening at 8:00pm EST tonight. You can watch it on Spike, or on their site, which is kinda cool. http://www.spike.com/event/vga2009/page/live-camera Quote
EdgeCrusher Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 I like how you guys are butthurt over this. Its spikeTV, since when have they mattered? Quote
big giant circles Posted December 13, 2009 Author Posted December 13, 2009 I like how you guys are butthurt over this. Its spikeTV, since when have they mattered? Foreal. This is not SERIOUS BUSINESS. It's a show about some good games that came out this year, that's all. People find all kinds of crazy ways to take stuff so personally. Quote
The Damned Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 So, is it still terribly cringe-inducing like all the previous years? You know, like hearing your really old, out-of-date relatives talking about GameBoys and Ataris and that Maria Brothers game they played back in the 90s? Quote
zircon Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 For people complaining about how the awards are primarily centered around the big Xbox games... who do you think the largest demographic for games is? Not us. We're niche gamers. Also, supposedly some of my music was used for this, but I dunno where. Post if you hear it! Quote
Soul Splint Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Handheld Game of the Year = Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars? Ummmmmmm.....No But, as previously mentioned, this is Spike. I mainly watch for the World Premieres. Quote

That's awesome man, where did you hear your stuff was in here? But, as previously mentioned, this is Spike. I mainly watch for the World Premieres. That's the spirit. Quote
Thalzon Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Did Thunder Force IV win anything? It won in the "Best Game Only The Coop Cares About" category. Quote
