I think they called it "pound the ground" in SM64. "Butt stomp" was so much more convenient.

I always called it a Z-pound because you have to hit the Z button to do it. But I think I've also called it a ground pound and a butt stomp, so I think they're all acceptable forms.

It is obviously a butt buster. Ground pound sounds more like something done with the fists. Like the way DK smacks bananas out of the ground or something.
