RealFolkBlues
Hey guys, I need your help. I haven't been on the site for a while and haven't had much access to the music in the last few years. So, I need you to recommend some good mixes for working out. Obviously, I'm probably looking for more upbeat stuff than anything, but any genre is good. I don't think I need to say this, but just as a disclaimer, this is NOT a favorites thread. GO!
Yami
For me there's this one, http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01990/ which really gives you new energy when you're nearly powered out but there are several others too http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01657/ http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01478/ http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02224/ http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01987/ http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02326/ http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02215/ http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02237/ (WillRock's mixes are just awesome for working out) http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01137/
Rexy
You beat me to the punch! I was going to start a workout thread! So yes, it's January and quite a lot of us want to shift that Christmas weight, but it gets hard to work out if you're stuck with what the Gym is playing, which is usually the pop music of the day. Trust me, of all the times I've been doing Aerobics classes for the past few months, the Black Eyed Peas gets old kinda fast. >_> But if you want a solid Gym soundtrack, then it has to be something to match the energy. Preferably nothing below 120bpm (making it easier to keep to the beat?), must have a positive soundscape, and if it has vocals then it must inflict positive thinking. Here's my personal recommendations to take down to the Gym: Armored Core: Nexus "Hyper Monkey Likes the Dancefloor" (Mattias Haggstrom Gerdt / DragonAvenger) Donkey Kong Country "Chekan Winter" (Jason Covenant) Last Ninja 2 "Central Park Metal Mix" (Commando 64) Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past "Labyrinth of Dance Floors" (Jeff Ball) Mario Golf "Fore on the Floor" (DarkSim) Mega Man 8 "Above the Clouds" (Jewbei) Mortal Kombat 3 "Mortal Konfrontation" (The Dual Dragons) One Must Fall 2097 "One Must Rise 2011" (DigiE) Sonic the Hedgehog "April Rain" (The Cynic Project) Sonic the Hedgehog "Still In Your Marble Zone" (DiggiDis) Sonic the Hedgeghog 2 "Chemical Blip" (Anti-Syne) Sonic the Hedgehog 2 "Chemixtrixx" (PrototypeRaptor) Sonic Triple Trouble "A New Ray of Light" (Sadorf / Sir NutS) Street of Rage "Bare Knuckle Blitz" (WillRock, and like someone said above me a lot of his works fit in the Gym ) Streets of Rage "Groove On" (ambient) Wild Arms "Telepath Tower" (Mike Saint-Jules) This may be just the tip of the iceberg, and I am sure others may contribute to this somehow. I hope these end up as a good starting point

pokemoneinstein
I see I'm not the only one who works out to OC Remix. XD
orlouge82
http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02237/ (WillRock's mixes are just awesome for working out) Quoted for truth. Showdown really gives me an energy infusion at the end of my runs. Also, check out some of WillRock's unposted stuff from the GRMRB 2010 and 2011, and GMRB 2010. DarkeSword has an archive of them in this post. I recommend a few in particular: Time Stopper Countdown To Infinity Bleets Of Lightning Pull The Plug EDIT: I should also mention TheGuitahHeroe's song from the first round of GRMRB 2011 "Blowin'em Outta the Water"
Soul Splint
Megaman 3 - The Passing of the Blue Crown Megaman X3 - Revolutions Mass Effect 2 - The Sound of the Galaxy Sonic 3 - Breaking the Ice Super Mario 64 - The Alternate Route These always help me eke out an extra rep or two:-)

Seriously though, I work out at the Y, and they are a good gym (especially for a parent,) but good grief I'm tired of their pop station being on all the time. They have a pretty decent classic rock station, but still, you can't beat working out to some badass OCR. But if you want a solid Gym soundtrack, then it has to be something to match the energy. I will throw in some of my own suggestions, as well, for everyone else who is in the same boat. This is obviously some of the older stuff, but hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Megaman X3 "Memory" Megaman X3 "HouseHornet" Megaman 2 "WindShear" Megaman 3 "Get Down" So yeah, Megaman mixes are generally pretty awesome. Zen Frazier
I've been using OC ReMix for my workouts for nearly 10 years. So much good tunage (thanks ReMixers!). Here's a few mainstays, but I have too many to mention. bLiNd - Final Fantasy X 'White Skies' (can't believe this wasn't mentioned yet) http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01441/ (just about anything by bLiNd finds its way onto my workout mix) Disco Dan - Mega Man 3 'Blue Lightning' http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR00464/ Sixto Sounds, zircon - Final Fantasy VII 'Lunatic Moon' http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01640/ There's also a TON of good workout material on the Wild Arms tribute album. Good place to start for some new material!

Level 99
I'm surprised this hasn't gotten bumped in six years. Daytona USA C.C.E. - The American Dream Daytona USA C.C.E. - Pounding Pavement Tiny Phalanx - Moon Side Edit: I've also been listening to a lot of The Damned, Funeral for a Friend, and the Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing soundtrack for workout motivation. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT PUMPS YOU UP. Sure would be cool to tie this in with the fitocracy thread.
Soul Splint
Here's my current top five for when I want some extra pump: 1) The Glitch Mob - Bad Wings 2) The Glitch Mob - Fortune Days 3) Kraddy - Android Porn 4) Neblix - Strange Rock in the Heavens http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02511/ 5) The Glitch Mob - Drive It Like You Stole It
