  1. Hey guys! As some of you might know already, I play the bass guitar in a local band, where I've also functioned as the mixing engineer/producer of our debut album. It's done, and the first single just went live on youtube. It's nothing like platonist, don't worry. The halfnaked guy in the video is my close friend Dante, he's the songwriter/bandleader. I'm just a filthy minion. Hope you guys like it, we've been working for 3 years to make this happen. Cheers, Jonas
  2. This is a little rock remix of the opening theme from the Pokémon anime series. It's my first remix of an anime soundtrack after making a few remixes for several videogames. I'm not the typical die-hard fan of Pokémon - but I loved the anime when I was a child. Pretty fluffy and hearty stuff with a nice touch of adventure. Some time ago I've listened to the opening theme of the anime once again which has a really decent melody I still like - and I thought that this could be a nice track for improving my virtual guitar skills. So, I put some effort into the articulation of every single guitar note. Sometimes I tought for hours about where the different articulations or playing techniques (like long played notes, hammer-ons, tappings, slides or some FX guitar sounds) might fit best within a short guitar sequence. But I got into it after some time and I think this helped me improving my music production skills a little bit - especially for creating much more realistic guitar sounds. Thanks to my really awesome virtual guitar amplifier Vandal I could give the guitar sound its totally unique style and make a decent final touch with a little bit hall reverb and a little bit more pinging stereo delay - really good combination for reverberant but also strong, assertive guitar sounds. I've also enjoyed working a bit more with velocity dynamics to bring some more life and vibrance into the track - but it's still pretty tough for me to find the right balance between the velocities of the different tracks within a song. Already a velocity value change of just 10 out of 127 can make a perceivable difference between hearing single notes in the whole mix and not noticing or at least not feeling them anymore. But I will work on this in the future. Just as usual I've mastered this remix at EBU R 128 loudness standards and used absolutely no compressors or limiters for keeping the full, natural sounding dynamic range and best possible hi-fi sound quality. So, check this stuff... Original Intro Theme: >>> ---------------------------------------- Newest version of my remix: 1.0 >>> >>> https://clyp.it/ymrif5kn
  3. Hey folks, I was feeling in an Earthboundy mood yesterday and started up this fun little orchestral medley of Mother music. What do you think? PS, don't judge the drums too hard yet. I've barely worked on them.

  5. Thanks to @classic_gamer_76 for bringing this old song back and doing some re-arrangements!
  6. Hi everyone, I recently started a radio station at my college where I play video game music and talk about the games that the songs come from. Ever since my family heard the first broadcast they have been interested in hearing more interesting video game music. I have been having difficulty finding music in the genres they like. My father likes Rock; my mother likes Jazz; my cousin likes Metal and my aunt likes Rap. I figured OC ReMix would be the best place to ask for help since no one else knows more about the varieties of video game music than OC ReMix. These songs don't need to be exclusively OC ReMixes; I'm looking for any music on a video game soundtrack, remixed or not. I'm trying my best to find as many songs as I can in these genres, but I only grew up with a PC, PS2 and a SNES, so my recollection of music was limited to those platforms. If anyone has any suggestions I would be very appreciative. You don't need to post a link or anything, just the name (or location/description) of the song and the game it's from. Thank you P.S. I'm very new to forums in general, so sorry if this layout looks weird for a post.
  7. Update 2/5/16: I created a lyric video for this song, check it out here: Greetings everyone, I recorded this last year and released an EP, but it didn't gain much traction. I'm sharing it here because I think it's my favorite song that I've ever written. If you like it, browse through my Bandcamp and check out the other tracks. I'd love to hear what everyone thinks! http://bradcharlesmusic.bandcamp.com/track/the-swine-brigade
  8. Not entirely sure about what I'm going to do with this song, but this is my latest song I've been working on. I may be adding it to the album I'm currently producing, still not sure. I would love to hear (or read) thoughts about this. Maybe some improvements or what you overall liked? Thanks
  9. Just subbed this. We'll see how it goes. Available for download now on sound cloud. https://soundcloud.com/treydieterich/toadally-tubular
  10. Here's me stepping into new territory - rock remixes with vocals and lyrics. I'm doing several songs in this style, but I'm not feeling sure about this one. Please let me know what your impression is of this song. It's only the first verse and chorus, lots of it needs retakes, but all the ingredients are there basically. In my opinion, the tempo is probably too fast -- what do you guys think about that?
  11. My interpretation of the Knight Rider theme music. Loved this show when I was a kid and I don't think any of the TV shows since bearing the 'Knight Rider' name have ever done the original justice. Please enjoy! 12. Hi all, My name's Jeremy Johnson, and I've gone by cooliscool since 2000, and an amateur composer of many years. I've played the piano and drums since age seven (20 years), and have progressively composed pieces in that time. I've reached a peak in these later years, and I'm pretty pleased. Remixed a few game songs, which I was very proud of, but never submitted them. I've lurked since 2003, around the time Charles Blachly died. Basically, Alph Lyla single handedly turned me into a composer, with their sheer excellen (ce and immaculate ears. Anyway, my music can be found at SoundCloud. The top 2 I composed last night in a rush of motivation. In "Joy" the right channel clips at times due to a mistake in limiting. Give them time, they kick in at 2 min!. If you feel up to it, listen to them in their entirety, and post honest feedback & suggestions. Considering my style, I couldn't think of a more appropriate place to promote my original work, receive feedback on it, network & make new, likeminded friends, and improve. Without question, in the future I would love to collaborate on a project, even if in a minor way. Much love, Jeremy MY SOUNDCLOUD PROFILE
  13. Hi there! I'm new in this forum ! I was playing and creating some DOOM level with a friend, and then I had an idea, create a song using DOOM's sounds! So I made it, and I just finished it! I called it "Baron of Hell (Tribute to DOOM)", a mix between dubstep, orchestral and rock styles, I tried to create melodies which remind the overall atmosphere of this incredible game! I hope you'll like it! I've just submitted my track for the Judge Pannel. Best regards from France! https://soundcloud.com/thegadget/baron-of-hell https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9LSJtgm9aU
