Default OCR00004 - Ghosts 'N Goblins 'Trance Version'

Ghosts'n Goblins 'Trance Version'

This is from the Commodore 64 version of Ghosts 'n Goblins, which had far superior music to the arcade, even if it wasn't the most appropriate for the game. This ReMix takes that music and basically makes it sound ten times better. Has bell sounds throughout to add a bit of a haunting feeling to it. I like that. Makes it seem to fit into the G&G world a little better. I like what Instant Remedy has done here.

Dude, this is killer. The bells add a wicked effect to the overall piece, and the vocals at the beginning are icing on the cake. One of my first remixes that I got from this site, and now I am revisiting the material and it sounds great (again). Download.

This is pretty cool. Not a track that comes straight to mind when I think of OC Remix, but one that is cool to listen to whenever it comes up on winamps random list. It has a very spooky styling, but has a very synthed sound to it. This works fabulously well, building a sense of tension, and sounding funky to boot. Of course, the mix can't be perfect. It's a pretty typical genre, and nothing particularly strikes out at you as being amazing and instantly (No pun intentional) memoriable. Not to say it does anything wrong - just that being a "really good mix" it gets lost among all the other "really good mixes."

The track starts with a haunting clock tower bell. A dorr creaks open. A haunting sound effect occurs... and then we break into the melody.
It plays for a few seconds before entering some ghost type noises. At 00:34 the door creaks again, and the track really gets started, with a 4:4 beat, introducing some hand claps or soemthing at 00:50.

At 1:38, we lose the main melody, with a focus on the bass and a new melody. Its back by 2:11. By 2:50, the tune really starts to get funky.

At 3:47, the tune begins to wind down, finishing with the aformentioned ghost sounds.

Overall, a solid piece that's probably worth a look if you've heard the original, like the genre, or just like funky synth ghost noises.

Absolutely great, with the howling ghosty synth.

Blast this out of your car windows; I guarantee you'll turn heads.

AWESOME driving music. 9/10.

Fantstic - gripping, spooky, but with a driving beat throughout.
Never heard the music from this version of the game, but hearing it as the remix is awsome.

This ReMix is a classic. I listened it some years ago. One of the best mixes that I´ve ever heard.

In terms of electronic music, it is pretty enjoyable. I like the haunted concepts here. The synths selection is very cool. The drums couldn´t be better. It is exactly what I like. Keeping a creative variation, this song is great, as an accurate old stuff.

A great track. Pushing an almost trance flow, it starts out with a perfect tease to the main melody of the song, another thing which was well done and fit perfectly for being on the synthie side. I dont think you could find a better sound to use for this game. And such a great finish too, resolution to such an awesome track.

The juxtoposition of the deep atmospheric effects and the 8bit synth had me scratching my head at first, but once the beat came in, things started to gel a bit more.
Though the song is pretty lofi, there is something appealing about the synthy spookiness, and this song would be an absolute riot at a halloween dance party.

So few replies.

Lots of direct sampling. More than a fair share of boom-tiss. But it's still good for that nostalgia. I used to listen to this often back in high school, and I still enjoy it now.

Even my sister and dad both like the remix. Sometimes hear them listening to it, they normally hate stuff from here. (After all, video game music is just blips and bleeps.)

When I first stumbled across this mix I thought it was great, but that was it. But then I noticed the # mix it was and was shocked.
For such an early remix it really kicks butt! My favorite djpretzel song.
