  1. e.g. http://ocremix.org/artist/4628/zircon Uses Bootstrap 3 More visual layout YouTube playlists! Emphasis on artist links is front and center, including support links for patreon, oc records, etc. Definitely a work-in-progress, but since it was better than what we HAD, we're going live now and will iterate Other pages will be updated to kinda-sorta match, as time allows This pushes us further towards an overall site redesign by getting pages laid out in Bootstrap, semi-responsive, etc. in a piecemeal fashion Feedback welcome

  2. I will be submitting my bonus mix tonight, just have to touch up a couple things. I got distracted by Titanfall 2 and Dishonored 2, but I was able to get a lot of the mix done over the weekend.

  3. Guys, I'm afraid I won't be able to contribute anything to this, but I'll leave some words of encouragement to everyone involved: You're dealing with the best soundtrack of all time. You better not fuck up. Good luck!

  4. I vote for HoboKa this round. Just listened to both of the tracks: The Lazy Future - I love the synth you chose for the beep fills (very technical term, I know), does a nice job capturing the "technology" feel. The strings do a nice job capturing the chill tone of the original track. I don't blame you for not trying to fiddle too much with the source. lol Gettin' High on Rails - Love the guitar work! You did very well in keeping the spirit of the Sonic Adventure series with its love of guitars and rock sound. Going to echo what HoboKa said: you did a great job with the drums.

  5. If someone hasn't already indicated they're working on a track, then it is likely you're going to be the only entry.

  6. I got it submitted and labeled properly... I think. I can't wait to hear any remaining entries!

  7. Eino beat me to the punch on Lizard Dance, but I'll see if I can wip something up for another song later. Chrono Cross is long overdue for a proper tribute and Brad is a rad album director. Perfect match.

  8. I mean, I've basically got perfect pitch, so if I listened to the track I could get the notes down accurately and send them in a MIDI to you

  10. Getting to work on the sheet music for your Metal Gear arrangement. It ought to be ready and recorded before the week is out.

  11. ....This seems like forever ago. You told me to listen to this, Nika, I did, obviously, but I forgot what it sounded like, so I'm re-listening. =). I actually really like this A LOT.

  12. Bonus track submitted! I noticed the midi has an incorrect hi-hat pattern for the beginning of the song, so I matched it to the original track. Also added some bass slides in the intro and chorus. Also also changed the instrument for the last pattern before the song loops again. So, some originality (sort of).

  13. Have majority of my bonus track done. Not going crazy with the arrangement because, honestly, I love the song as is and only want to bring the instrumentation more up-to-date. Trying to focus my attention more on productions this time around. I'll have it submitted by Saturday.

    Secret of Evermore

...had great music. I've been holding onto my rendition of Fire Eyes for... years? Ah crap. Anyway, If anything SoE comes together, I'd love to pitch in. Also, these forums are great. Glad to be here.

    iOS Production

Nice write-up and info - this is the first time I've run across most of the above. I've been seriously considering FL Studio mobile for iOS so I can sketch out ideas and import the projects to my pc. What I haven't seriously considered is full production via my mobile device. Pretty impressive.

  16. Hey, I'm glad I'm not the only one that doesn't have actual equipment. I don't have a setup. I just have my garageband app. I know. I know. What a pleb I am. XD But it's all I have and frankly all I'm gonna have for a while. So, you're not the only one that uses iOS tech. It works pretty well, though, for being an app. I've certainly learned a lot from the little I've done.

  17. We're releasing it. That's about as special at it gets But no, there's nothing overtly special being done. Make music, gather music, put it all up for consumption.

  18. If you know the principles behind how to make the lead, you should be able to make it. The main difference between synths is the approach to making certain sounds, except for sounds that are particularly complicated (such as some FM sounds, or metallic sounds). Try going for a detuned saw lead with multiple voices, and a slight envelope depth on a low-pass filter's cutoff frequency. Further tweaking would be needed to get it exactly, but that should get you most of the way there.

  19. Yessir, that would be a particularly sharp/dirty sounding Saw Lead with some monophonic glide and vibrato modulation on it. A lot of major synth VSTs will have something like it - Synth 1, Zebra 2, Omnisphere, z3ta 2... Particularly, I think you'll want to get Zebra 2 for that because someone here made some Zebra 2 presets that were based on some of the later Mega Man games and one was a particularly dirty bendy Saw Lead that sounded pretty close to what you're looking for there. Not the pinpoint answer you deserve, but hopefully that will get you closer to what you seek.

  21. I don't know... being a NPC could be good. No one expects you to stop the evil wizard when you're just selling apples from a cart. Or restarting a reactor to get the defense shields up before the aliens attack. Nope, just sweeping this corridor. Depending on the game, it might be the safest situation there is. The world can't end if the hero doesn't start the game... Damn it! Now I'm torn between blowing up the world and waiting for someone else to do it!

  22. Depends. Am I visiting as a NPC or as a player? That makes a big difference. For example, if I chose Pandora from the Borderlands series... I'm utterly fucked if I'm a NPC. In that game world, if it isn't the Skags/Spider Ants/other wildlife, it's the psychos that wear your face during their pizza parties (fun fact: 72% of Pandoran pizzas are also made from someone's face). If it ain't the psychos, it's the killer Hyperion Loader bots with rocket launchers for arms. And even if you manage to avoid all of those things, you still have all those fucking Vault Hunters (the players) gunning every thing down the instant they think it can drop loot. Now, as a player (Vault Hunter), I would be nigh unstoppable. I get infinite respawns, can buy guns, shields, grenades and ammo all I want, or just blow up a herd of innocent animals until something drops a gun I like. If I want to go somewhere, I have access to planet-wide teleportation (Fast Travel stations). If I feel like just relaxing, I'm the only person of the planet that can play the slot machines in the various bars around the world. If don't want to do any of that, I still get the option to actually leave a town by walking out the front gate, unlike all the NPCs who have to stay there, behind the desk or on the road, forever. Never moving, never leaving, never doing anything. See? The difference is important.
