  1. Normally, I would be flattered that I've a fan, but it's a real toxic one. On Soundcloud. I've had to block him 3 different times, as he'd used slight variations of different profile names (assuming it's a HE, could be wrong), his current profile is Luxray214. And he keeps pestering me to remix Castlevania 4: Dracula's Theme. Now, he's following my comments in friends' profiles and responding to me there. I had to constantly delete his comments on my remix Uploads, because it was just causing me too much anxiety. I tried PM'ing him to talk some reason to him and it was like he never got my response at all - like it never happened. I don't know WHY this is particularly getting under my skin...maybe because I'm already in a state of heightened anxiety, but this Luxray214 kid is really causing me a lot of grief. What should I do???

  2. In a world where Mega Man 7's intro theme and Big Blue are combined - Mega Man kicks Captain Falcon's ass and joins the F-Zero Grand Prix... Lyrical idea given by @OceansAndrew over on Twitter when I was agonizing over it. I've been screwing with this for awhile, any comments on the mix before I submit it to the hallowed halls of OverClocked ReMix I'm always down for FEEDBACK! Source1 source2 Download for those who want it vs YT video: http://bit.ly/megafalcon Lyrics: High speed racing Burned in his blood But now It's in my circuits I feel the need for speed I push on the throttle Rock it like a shuttle Roll into first place I will never lose a race Pun ch through the sky, like a falcon above It mirrors the endless sea below me Kick through the pack Come up from the back I don't think I'll be the same Adrenaline flowing' Or at least I assume so Show me your moves So I can show you mine And Keep you in second place I'll take the first with grace You might get small taste In this battle and chase! I received this power by winning a fight So I may as well put it to good use! Punch through the sky, like a falcon above It mirrors the endless sea below me Kick through the pack Come up from the back I don't think I'll be the same I received this power by winning a fight So I may as well put it to good use!

  3. Just do a MIDI rip and send that. In the past (5 years ago or something like that) I also had someone who mailed me a couple of times to ask me to remix some tunes, but he wasn't going so far and he only send a few mails. Also had some people (woman) who wanted to marry me because they liked a remix I did in 2008 so much...LOL.

  4. I think he asked every person on Vampire Variations for his fucking remix lol

  5. Very interesting as I've had this happen recently as well. I'm used to being stalked by bar-crawling cougars, but not people in dire need of a Castlevania mix. It's weird for me.

  6. For non-piano work, I think you'll manage with 49 or 61 keys. I have 37 and I haven't needed more for my music, but for working out intricate parts, 49 may be the minimum I would recommend for semi-limited space.

  7. Just continue to block and report.

  8. No one ever wants to stalk me, I'm the one who usually has to do the stalking. :S

  9. What were his profile names?

  10. Haha, he asked around a lot. I once saw him asking a remixer on YouTube, the remixer did a (not bad) cover of the theme, and that guy answered "meh, i don't like it". What a lil' bitch.

  11. Why the hell would he ask me, though? Like, skip over the shitty remixers at least. Guy is desperate.

  12. Meh, I'm not opposed to older women but there's a limit on age and how creepy you are. =P Yeah, I thought it was kinda weird, but I haven't been full-on stalked by him. Did he have a picture of that monkey villain from Powerpuff Girls when you talked to him?

  13. Yeah, 49 is fine for most home recording purposes.

  15. I'm not a real keys player, but I've never really considered an 88 keys keyboard. I've worked with 49 and 61 keys a lot, I found 49 keys perfectly doable and 61 very comfortable. Hardly use the octave +/- buttons on it.

  17. This is a very cool concept. I would love to claim something but I am too busy myself these days. Just to ask the question: I have played a ton of fighting games in the past; is this concept just for 'popular' games or can we delve into relative obscurity with titles like Samurai Showdown, Ranma 1/2, or Doomsday Warriors? EDIT: Missed this line in the intro. I consider my question answered.

  18. Update time! I've posted @Ronald Poe's update of Fleet From the Stars to the WIP spreadsheet. Give it a listen and tell us what you think! I've finally redone the colors according to the current WIPs - check the top of this thread for tracks I'm now calling orange due to the new color assignments. You can always shoot me a PM to ask for any clarity on why I assigned the way I did. Everyone was in contact with me at least briefly before the last update. Thanks again for this; however, given the information I was given at the time, I'm still waiting for updated WIPs from the following folks: @JulienMulard - Raid on the Water People @CrimsonCobalt - Can't Let You Do That!, Into the Swarm (new name!) @Slimy - Ode to Star Fox @classic_gamer_76, @Slimy - (Krazoa Palace) Prominion - (Fortuna) If you haven't already, please get in touch with me and let me know what is going on. A new WIP for SCRAMBLE is still coming - I have all the parts, I just haven't put them together yet. I'll make sure this is done before the weekend is over. I will attempt to do the same for Bad Weather... Also - with all the updates I received (which we will count for this past deadline) means we have 12 orange status tracks! We made our goal! Thanks again to everyone for the extra help getting us across this line. Keep the beautiful noise coming, everyone. Just because I set deadlines doesn't mean your track can't be finished early! PM me if you have any questions or concerns. Cheers!

  19. I agree, it's very hard but not impossible. I actually did beat the game like about 10+ years later when i bought a snes again. Btw. the last level is like a walk in the park compared to the previous ones. Something that always bothered me a bit about Battlemaniacs (never played the one on NES but i think it's about the same there) is that after the second level it becomes some sort of obstacle race. The first levels were so cool, you could actually *fight*, i mean they're called Battletoads for a reason! I digress...

  23. Once I have my drum session programmed -- without any humanization -- I like to play the track with my drum sequence window open that I use as a tab to perform the instrument on the keyboard. Not being a good 'keyboard drummer', I take it slow and one part at a time -- I record the kick only first, then the snare, then the hi-hats, etc. -- until I'm done with the whole instrument. I then edit my performance -- since I'm absolutely not good at all ^^' -- and re-position some sequences better -- only when it really sounds off (the kick, snare and cymbals are particularly important) -- before working on the velocities. Sometimes, you can trust your DAW's 'humanization tool' (around 10% for the kick and snare and 30% for the hi-hats and ride) but you'll definitely want to check the whole thing afterward and edit individual notes/pack of notes together. A good understanding of the instrument is necessary though. When composing for that instrument you must visualize the drummer play and keep in mind he only has two hands and two feet. Air drumming is recommended for such circumstances -- don't laugh, I do that A good sampled VST is worth having, that goes without saying. Here is probably the most popular free one you can get to work on any DAW: http://www.powerdrumkit.com/ Here are a few videos that could help you too -- ghost notes and everything must not be neglected: Hope this helps -- we've all been there

    More obscure games

We see most remixes of popular games, understandably. Here are some other options, different games, maybe different music genre. I suggest a remix of Aztec Adventure for Sega Master System, especially this track: Something more upbeat, from the makers of Puzzle Bobble, Parasol Stars: And finally, Slap Fight MD. (Only the arcade was released outside Japan as Alcon):
