  1. The People's Remix Competition 419 PRCv17-17 Hello everyone and Welcome to the People's Remix Competition! Time to end 2020 with a free round. No source limitations (non VG sources and originals are allowed), even MIDI rips are allowed. Remember that it is also allowed to post multiple songs. I don't think ThaSauce can handle with multiple submissions by the same user, but if you want to submit a second song you can post a download link in this thread so I can fix it. I'll limit the number of submssions posted by the same user to 3 (and try to get >1 songs in for this round myself). http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/PRC419 The deadline is Wednesday January 6th 2021 at 10:59 am ThaSauce time (18:00 UTC, 19:00 GMT), check the link for the exact time left. Make sure that the song is uploaded to ThaSauce or that there’s a download link posted in this thread. You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. You are free to create a second ThaSauce account for that if you use ThaSauce, it's needed to be able to upload a second remix if you use ThaSauce. Of course you can also upload it somewhere else and put a download link in this thread. Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted in this thread. Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they receive a free first place vote added onto their score (when mutiple songs are submitted, the bonus is for every song so it's even more attractive to vote). The winner of this round may select the source for PRC421, the second round of next season.. You can find the full rules list at this page as well. GOOD LUCK! PRC ThaSauce Home Page!

  5. Hey, it's me again! I've fiinally wrapped up the project with a nice bow on top. It's hard to stop yourself from editing and editing into infinity. One day you just have to let go. The entire project has been documented into a (slightly) interactive case study, made in a design tool called Figma. It's basically a fancy powerpoint pres, but I figured it got the point across better this way. In other words, you can scroll and click around, particularly when you get to the page designs. If you're unsure what you can click, just click anywhere and blue boxes will highlight the interactive areas. I've never delivered a project in this fashion before, so let me know if you thought it was worthwhile or pointless :D There are 12 pages, all pretty densely packed with stuff, so make sure you stay hydrated if you plan to read the whole thing: Open the case study → When you're finished, I'd love to hear your feedback! Thanks again to everyone who took part in the survey and helped out in other ways!

  6. @chanq This is superlative work; I'm not only impressed with the organization & presentation of data, but the design (and reasoning behind it) make a ton of sense to me. This work will absolutely inform future enhancements to the site, and is deeply appreciated.

  8. Hello! I've been remixing game music for a long time but this is the first remix I've ever submitted to OC Remix. SaGa Frontier has one of my favorite game soundtracks, and "Booby Trap" is one of my favorite tracks in it. Just such a catchy and groovy song. The remix is already complete and submitted - I actually didn't know about this feedback forum until after I already submitted, heh. Regardless, I'd love to hear feedback about the track! Hope you like it!

  10. I didn't feel it this round and I think we're all tired of me trolling the Sanic. It was a pretty cool source tune though! I'll get in a vote edgewise. Or Lastminutewise. Hopefully soon. Nice turnout!!

  11. Welcome to the voting stage The mixing stage is over. This round has 4 songs and a bonus mix by Wassup Thunder. The following people compete against each other: TheVideoGamer Souperion Trism Dex To vote, do the following: · Visit http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/PRC418 and listen to all the entries. · Scroll to the form at the bottom of the screen or click PM. · Fill in the entries from first to second in the ThaSauce form or fill in your top 3. · State a reasoning for it. · Participants are encouraged to vote and leave feedback. However, they may not vote for themselve, They get a 3 point bonus. · Wassup Thunder has a vote that counts twice. · Always look in this thread to find out who's the winner of the round after the voting stage instead of only looking at ThaSauce for the results. Especially since some people might vote by sending me a PM. You have until Monday December 21st 10:59 AM ThaSauce time (11:00 UTC, 12:00 GMT) to vote. If you vote by PM make sure that your top 3 is clear. I prefer something like this: (To) (Subject) PRC ### Vote (Message): 1: (remixer A ) 2: (remixer B ) 3: (remixer C ) (reasoning) I will post the feedback given in the PM’s and the votes in this thread. The winner may choose the source tune for PRC420 (Souperion also picks a source for this round as winner of PRC417. If Souperion wins this round as well he may pick a source for PRC421 as well).

  12. Shouldn't be a problem as I ever really addressed that. Voters may find it a detractor. Up to you.

  13. Hey, uh, technical question regarding the MnP compo... I ended up slipping a few measures of a different song into my remix. Is that kosher with the Meat n' Potatoes composition guidelines? If not, I can replace it no problem.

  14. Soulblazer, you say? I'd enjoy some of those songs showing up in this compo, just saying Always glad to pick a source folks enjoy.

  15. Yeah, it's a good tune and an excellent pick for the theme. I actually beat this game, and I rarely ever complete action RPGs, other than the Soulblazer trilogy. Lmao. I'll take the thanks, but direct it more at Souperion. ...edits of Mana.

  16. I didn't like my first attempt at this song, so now I've scrapped it and have started with a new groove. Should have time to make it work!

  17. Welp, that's mine in, in a few minutes. @Souperion & @HoboKaThank you, so much, for the opportunity to remix this song. It truly is beautiful. Never noticed it when I did play Secret of Mana. I'm glad I got to notice it now. ♥

  18. Thanks man, and believe me I know what it can be like juggling multiple things at the same time. Truthfully, there really is no good way to go about other than to focus on one at a time. When you hit a wall on one then you focus on the other until you hit that wall. Keep repeating until eventually you're there (mostly-ish).

  19. Hello OCR Community, I'm a long time visitor to the site. The music your members have remixed over the years has gotten me through some tough times. I was raised on gaming music, and have a sizeable collection of the soundtracks, which eventually led me here. I personally want to say thanks to each of you who have contributed anything to this site, and I look forward to seeing what else you come up with in the future.
