  1. At one time I was completely caught up on reviewing everything on RTS. At one time... Also, I am on RTS. Check me out.
  2. Someone has it right that by today's standards the mix feels dated. There isn't much going on in terms of original material, but the small variations in the melody are nice. I wish he had used those variations to move into and out of new stuff. I'm not entirely crazy about the combination of instruments. I feel like there's something missing, but I can't place my finger on it. Overall I do like the piece. It's an enjoyable mix, and is certainly something I don't mind pulling up every so often.
  3. I love this mix. The peaceful feel throughout really lets me feel like I've found a nice quiet picnic spot at the fair where everyone is relaxing and enjoying a cool drink, or something. I'm making a guess that the name references Chrono Cross, and this would possibly be the music of the Fair in another dimension. If it is or isn't, that's how I picture it, and I think it adds charm. The playing is very well done, typical of Dhsu's work. Love it, man.
  4. I'll definately be cosplaying. Not sure if I'll bring the Lucca costume I'm working on now, or Squall or Zidane from past years. Probably Lucca, might as well not cross-dress...
  5. There is a strong possibility that I will be going Saturday. I have to get travel plans together about visiting my brother, and see how that works out. May have to change plans based on when the OCR panel is, too. Definately want to attend that!
  6. Checking in: Last week was pretty good. Biked every day last week, even in the humidity. Didn't do much walking, as the biking's been more than enough for my tired self. Managed to get about a mile in Sunday. I've noticed my appetite's been increasing. I'll finish lunch and still be hungry I think I've lost a little weight, but I don't check frequently enough to know for sure. On a slightly related note, I donated blood on Saturday, which probably won't hamper me too much (so far I've biked to work today, though that's mostly downhill).
  7. Honestly I haven't started thinking about it yet. I know what I will do for most of the costume, aside from the boots, and some details on the helmet, but the gun I plan to do last, as it isn't the most essential part of the costume (if nothing else, I will be making the mallet). I know wood-working, and used plexi-glass last year. I'm probably going to attempt some metal working, but I'm not sure. Aluminum cans, maybe... Also, long term plan is to make a Gato replica at some point, too...if I have time, again...
  8. Odd question, but Does cosplay count? I'm working on my Lucca (Chrono Trigger) costume, which has to be done for August, and I plan on making her gun. Seeing as it's conveniently placed with this compo, can I throw some pics up here? Also, in complete whorage, here are my past two years costumes (Squall from FF8 and Zidane from FF9, complete with weapons).
  9. Unspecified, eh? That makes me more curious. Honestly, I don't know what to think of this. Chrono Trigger is tied for my favorite game EVAH (honestly, I've beaten Lavos over 100 times), but getting a port of it wouldn't be worth my time, when I can still fire up my SNES. I'll be keeping my eyes on this, for sure.
  10. Checking in late, as per usual. Great week! Biked to and from work, walked, etc. Really felt good about this week. My butt, however, dislikes my bike seat. ALOT!
  11. Checking in: Much better this week compared to the other two. I walked more, packed a band room (like at least 150 boxes, with help of course), bike rode. Hopefully this week I can do a dry run tomorrow of my bike to work route, and start that offically Friday. Woot.
  12. Late as usual. Another bad week for me. I went bike riding once, and did packing (we're moving to a brand new high school!), but that's about it. Today, however, I sweated my ass off during graduation inside a very hot and humid gym, and tomorrow and Wednesday I will be packing a band room full of years of crap. I'll try to get some walking in on top of that, and get back to a more regular schedule now that school is finished. Next week will start my bike riding to summer job, too.
  13. I like to think I'm the forum's resident catgirl. =^.^= Katt is easily one of my favorite vg characters, and we share a similar hair style and ears. O.o
  14. This is one of those pieces that makes me glad I'm going through (slowly, oh so slowly) all the mixes. Definately something I would never listen to normally, but something I plan to keep. Love the smooth jazz, great percussion. Great job.
  15. I actually can remember this one offhand, so it's easier to write a review for than some of the other remixes that I've listened to lately. I think the transition from the organ to techno worked well. It's ubrupt, but I feel like it was meant that way. Surprisingly, after listening to this again, I agree that the original melody really doesn't get much time in the limelight here. I would have liked to see more of that. The ending is a bit too sudden, I would have liked more on that end. I would put this on a halloween tracklist.
  16. This could definatley be a bit longer, but it's a keeper for me. Quite catchy, and reminds me of "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiago". Lolz
  17. Everything feels a little too fake to me. A song like this feels like it should have something that sounds much more like a real instrument in it. Wish there had been some variation in the second reiteration of the theme. The trumpets have the weirdest line, dunno if that's the original or what, but I had to listen to their lick a few times to figure it out. A nice happy mix, but I feel like it could use some live instruments in it.
  18. Not gonna lie, I zoned ou on this one. The melody is a little too repetative, and nothing really was able to pull me in. From what others have said this is due to the original track, because I usually like Beatdrop's stuff.
  19. I don't think I would have recognized this as FF if I heard it without the title. I think it's too obscure. I enjoyed listening to it, and when I finally heard the 'melody' I could make out what had been done. Overall I felt that I had to look way too hard to find the remix in this, if that makes sense. I agree with OA about the frequencies, there could have been more going on higher and lower to expand the range of the piece. It's a nice piece, but just too obscure for my tastes.
  20. Funkiness is awesome, a great style choice for this song. Aside from that, I don't see much else going on that's too original, but for what it's done, it's a nice quick listen.
  21. Dark, very dark. Like it, it's got a sense of urgency in it that really sets a good mood.
  22. Thought I reviewed this already. Anyways. I like how this was slowed down and made more dramatic. It really brings out the feeling of longing. On the opposite side, having the more 'quirky' sections kept the mood a little lighter, in a good way. I don't know the source of the 'dark' part of the song, but I can't say I really like it. It was too far removed from the rest of the piece. I don't know if it's just because I'm playing things a little quiet, but I felt like the volume could use a boost. Overall, I like the piece, just some detracting factors lessened my enjoyment a little. Nicely done.
  23. Awesomeness. Really. Want to turn this up, but I'm at work More from you guys, please.
  24. I don't know much about production, but I can tell that this is really well done. Love the atmosphere that this creates (building off the original). Hope you guys collab again in the future.
