  1. This song has a real depth to it, I feel like I can fall into the sound. I love songs like that. The chip elements fit in nicely, without being a sudden addition. Overall, I'm a fan of this. Nice job.
  2. Larry says it right, "lush" is possibly the best word to use for this mix. Everything really meshes well together, and the stuttering really adds a 'cold' feeling to things, IMO. Nice.
  3. Mmm, this is nice. I definately like this one better than the Alpha mix, but both are still great. Halo's theme is a bit more noticable in this one, and to be honest, not knowing Marathon's music, I can't hear where another theme would be, but that's probably just my ears leaning towards what I know. Great job with this.
  4. Nice incorporation of the orchestrated elements with the synths. Everything gels together well, which is hard to to with something like that. The song remains a bit too 'background' to really enjoy on it's own, as ANSO said. Still nice to have, and it would be good to see this coupled with a video or something.
  5. This is some good stuff from Beatdrop. I've been a fan of his work for a while, and it's good to see something from him again. 1:42 is my favorite part. Nice trancey stuff, definately worth a listen.
  6. Just wanted to say you guys did a great job on this for the time you had to put it together. Nicely done.
  7. Definately a dance track. I love that it's so happy! Really a fun listen.
  8. Strange, but cool, use of panning right at the beginning. Love the creepiness of this. Great mood here. The sound effects are a little cheesy for me, they feel too tacked on top. Just my opinion though. Doesn't outweigh my like for the piece though.
  9. I'm officially happy I'm not going to Magfest now.
  10. After reading Palpable's review, I do have to say, holy cymbal, Batman! Lame phrases aside, definately a driving beat we have going on, and the vocal samples, while interesting, aren't really doing it for me. I like the soft synth floating in the background, it contrasts the 'doop' synth well. Little repetative after a while, but overall and alright mix.
  11. This song definately rocks. As Hale-Bopp said, if you can't tell it's a collab, you've done your job. Great work.
  12. Not crazy about the 'surge' in chord changes. Just too much emphasis. Love the dark mood of this, could fit my 'halloween mixes' easily. There really aren't enough creepy mixes on this site. Thumbs up.
  13. The arrangement isn't really that bad, and the part at 1:00 is pretty cool, but the sounds are lacking. Unfortunate, really, because this could have been better than it was.
  14. Where's the rap? This track really could have used a central focus point. Man, it's been so long since I played, and sucked at, RCR. Brings back memories.
  15. This is a little too thin to me. Can't say I'm a fan of this one. I appreciate McVaffe going outside the box, but it doesn't work for me.
  16. I don't know the source, so I can't comment on that, but it sounds pretty Mitsuda to me from hearing this mix. The brass sounds are pretty good considering this was 2001, they've held up well. Percussion defiantely has that latin flair, which is nice. The shortness of the mix is the biggest gripe, though it seems as though MP has fixed that with an extended version somewhere. This is a good one to pick up (and then get the extended version!).
  17. This is a catchy remix. DJP has it right, it's not danceble, but a minimalist techno. I'm liking it. More people should check this one out.
  18. Yea...not a fan. This is one of those things that you submit a contestent of Survivor and award them money if they somehow get through 4 hours of it alive.
  19. Starts atmospheric, really sets a nice mood. Definately some good drumwork. Nothing really happens in the track, which isn't bad, but I would have preferred some movement. I'm a melody fan, so it's a given that I have to say that. Overall, it's some nice work, and so far the best I've heard of mutagene.
  20. I'm digging this. It's catchy, and everything meshes together pretty well. I wish the volume was upped on a couple synths just a tad, but overall, nice stuff.
  21. The fact that this is done on the Demo of FL ups my appreciation of this track. It's not my favorite MM2 mix, certainly not by a long shot, but knowing where it came from makes a difference. It's pretty coverish, but adds a more...happy...flavor, and I like that the mood's been changed in it. Not crazy about the key change or whatever happens at 1:56, but the tracks over before I can really complain about it. My biggest gripe is the delay or whatever on the main synths. I feel like it's just out of time and it bugs me. Still, better than I could ever do with a demo setup of anything.
  22. This is catchier than a 6 reviews mix. I don't know why more people haven't grabbed this and thrown some words here. The drums are a bit static, but as someone said, they aren't the main focus of the mix and do not detract. Most definately some good synth love.
