  1. Note that I said that the only sites which should merge together are those which fill the exact same niche. I know that VGMix and OCR merging wouldn't work because Virt was a member of OCR first. Besides, there is allegiance between the two, with a degree of cross-pollenation and such. What I'm asking is why these sites can't reach out with formal alliances with news sites, other game entertainment sites, and such. The idea is to create a network between fans. A large one.
  2. What exactly about that trailer justified an age verification?
  3. They'll find a fix for the new version. Always do. The 2DC chip for the Wii was considered "unmodable." Then they modded it. Boom.
  4. It will become the new standard for stationary listening. Although I'd be cool with genertically engineering a few extra ears.
  5. 5.1/7.1 will slowly become the new standard. It has a while yet, but hopefully someday we can move up to that level.
  6. I swear Game Over is the title of another video like this... but I can't remember.
  7. Well, I just noticed that the sample rate and word length is fixed. 44.1 and 16 are pretty standard, but all pro applications have higher ones available. Is there a conceivable case where I might want numbers greater than those indicated?
  8. Tried CCleaner?
  9. I was at Guitar Center today and asked about USB microphones. They directed me to this. Since I've heard Blue is a phenomenal mike company, I may have to give this one a whirl. EDIT: Look what I found.
  10. Didn't Jared Hudson find them for his To Zanarkand mix?
  11. But there's a limit. Would you be able to suspend your disbelief if it turned out Dr. Jones was actually a monkey in disguise? It sounds silly to even say because if it actually happened there would be no way to justify it. None. The point is that belief cannot be suspended no matter what. It only works to a certain extent. Gregor Samsa can turn into a beetle, but everything that happens afterwards is realistic, given that first event.
  12. Sorry for the delay, everyone. I've been busy the past couple of days trying to actually dig up all the stuff I have for sale (my parents "organized" my stuff and I had to find it all). Since many people want to know the prices of the adventure games, I will post them here. As I tell all my buyers, I try and put a resaonble price range based on what I see at Amazon and Ebay that doesn't rip either of us off. LucasArts Archives Vol 1: Day of the Tentacle - $25-35 Indiana Jones & The Fate of Atlantis - $35-45 Sam & Max Hit the Road - $15-25 I listed them at individual prices, but these three came in the LucasArts Archives box set and as such have one big manual. I no longer have the other three discs from the archive, but you're not missing anything (two were demos, the other was the screen entertainment desktop utility). Grim Fandango - $30-40 Monkey Island 3: Curse of Monkey Island - $15-25 Monkey Island 4: Escape from Monkey Island - $10-20 Myst (for Windows 3.1) - $1-5 Uru: Complete Chronicles - $5-15 Myst III & IV: $15-25 In addition, I have updated my list of items that I'm selling with stuff I'd forgotten about.
  13. Well, me being in South Carolina that month necessitates me bowing out of this. However... Only if Jon sets up his turntables in front of it.
  14. Just wrote this for RPGamer. Take a look.
  15. Yeah, but...
  16. You know I have never actually seen any of his movies. But the reviews/crucifixtions I've heard don't fault his movies for not being Lord of the Rings, Terminator, and any other iconic blockbuster. From what I understand, it mostly comes from poor acting, writing and/or directing. He definitely has some points about the homogenization of films and the strangleholds of the major studios on the medium, though.
  17. Here's a follow-up question. Do those of you in the industry have dreams of being a bigwig designer one day? Why or why not? I, personally, do not know whether the idea of giving up ownership to your creative IP is enough of a reason for me to stay out of the entertainment industry as a whole. Edward Albee told me it was enough for him. But then again, Albee is an arrogant prick. So I don't know. For now, I'm going to see where this game design project this summer takes me. If Working Designs ever has a successor, spiritual or otherwise, work for them. That company had the most fantastic reputation when it came to localization and I love all their RPGs for it.
  18. Can you send one to Dickinson's radio station?
  19. Thing is, you're talking about a camera like this: Whereas I mean a camera like this: Just a little harder to hang onto.
  20. Any tips for not losing a camera? I believe I've lost two now. I want to take more pictures (not that point and shoot stuff, though) but need to devise a way to basically handcuff the damn thing to myself (which I would literally consider doing if a handcuff could fit on the camera). I've seen enough photographs of sunrises to eliminate the need for me to ever see an actual one again (though I imagine I will), and what I love about yours, Kureejii, is that everything else is completely black. I've never seen that before.
  21. http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/428847 Tiers are for queers!
  22. I signed up for an internship with Insomniac Games, but since I don't know C++ yet (next year...) I couldn't complete their project. However, I WILL be implementing an educational computer game this summer (!) as part of USC's REU, so I'll see how that goes.
  23. Sweet! Will PM you all with details.
