Zero Punctuation (Hilarious) Game Reviews

I can see he liked it, at least. Everytime Yahtzee likes a game, you know it's a good one! Can't say that he made me laugh, but that's okay. I'm pretty sure this game is either creating or cementing every gamer's love for Luigi. Between Yahtzee, Gametrailers, Nintendo Power, and several topics on Gamefaqs, Luigi's fans are growing by the thousands, it seems! Personally, I like Bowser the most in this game. -
Same for me. Now, the animator himself (Alvin-Earthworm), I don't care much for. I think he suffers from a bad 'tude. Still, every new episode he makes gives me enough feelings of forgiveness to tide me over. You know, he gets the character's personalities juuuust right! The fights are tense, spastic, and deliciously over the top. The humor is charming and occasionally lol-worthy. And, except for episode 7's exposition-fest, he usually finds a good balance in the dialogue. Just can't get enough of this series.

Phew, for a second, I thought Charles Martinet was the one who got a game over! Still, RIP Albano.

Dude, totally schway drumset. The best part is X's MegaBuster.

His line about Rhinos was freaking classic! As for the review itself, I didn't expect him to tear the game apart limb from limb, go figure. -
I've play Brawl off again and on again every since I got it. Very few games have that kind of replay value for me nowadays! Also:

Video games helped me lose 58 pounds and, in just 15 minutes, saved me more than 15% in car insurance! Seriously tho, they convinced me to pursue gaming journalism. Now, I just wish I had a game plan (har).

Played Firefight with my friend, and I went from a "rent-only" mentality to "I gotta own this game, and soon" mentality. Question: Would it be worth it to trade in my copy of Halo 3, so I could save a few bucks on ODST? I know the multiplayer aspect stays the same, but what if I miss Halo 3's campaign some day?...I'm not sure why I would, but it's little worries like that that keep me from making firm decisions.

If you're looking for console-based game reviewers as well as PC-based game reviews, I'd be absolutely overjoyed! While PC gaming is foreign to me, I have every current-gen console, lots of free time, and plenty of enthusiasm towards the gaming culture. In fact, if anyone knows of an opportunity where I could break into videogame reviews on Xbox 360, PS3, or Wii, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

Joined the forums on the last day of 2007. Before that, I lurked and listened to the Mario and Zelda mixes on the site. Since then, I've been a big fan of both the awesome music created on a regular basis, and the more mature nature of the forums. They certainly beat gamefaqs' forums, I'll tell you that much, lol!

Eh, I do that to myself sometimes. Hopefully I'll stop contradicting myself in the future...' No, no, no, that's too far. I told you, I'm on the "$60 is acceptable" side. I merely said that I can understand how they feel. You know, get in the mind of the killer, so to speak. Here, let me explain: The demographic matters in the sense that Sonic 2 was made with the 6-12 year old Sega Genesis demographic in mind. While L4D was made with the 18 and over Xbox 360/PS3/PC demographic in mind. An 18 year old L4D owner has a lot more expectations for his sequel than a 6 year old Sonic 2 owner, doesn't he? Dare I say, expectations that just might be valid, and deserved? Well, read the above. If we still don't see eye to eye, no hard feelings, how's that sound?

Well, not entirely. After all, I did just admit to changing sides on the boycotting issue. Well, for a long time, I was in agreement with those people, so no, it doesn't strike me as senseless. Selfish? Perhaps, but I can understand how they feel. That's rather harsh, don't you think? Surely the demographic plays some part, whether large or small? While your point seems logical at first glance, there's something worth contemplating. A person's first playthru of Metroid Prime 1 and/or 2 would most likely last longer than a person's first playthru of L4D, would it not? There is much more variety in Metroid Prime's gameplay than in L4D's gameplay, is there not? Fresh out of the box, a person seemingly reaps more rewards in both money and time spent with Metroid Prime 1/2 than with L4D. Do you see what I mean? What makes you so quick to write off that aspect of the conversation? I don't really have anything to say agaisnt this. It's all true, as far as I'm concerned. In fact, I think this generation of people in general suffer from this mentality, not just gamers. While I don't deny it, I feel that you might be writing off their argument too swiftly. It might deserve a second look.

I hear what you're saying BGC, but shouldn't there be a lower level of expectations with Genesis games then there are with Xbox 360 games? Games back then didn't cost as much to make, had less staff, had a different demographic, etc.
-
Eh, not to nitpick, but I wouldn't compare a short, 16-bit game with an online, current gen game if I were you.

Umm...well...wow. If Valve can convince the leaders of the boycott...maybe I had no reason to complain in the first place...I just really didn't think that 1 year was enough time to produce a quality product. But maybe it is, when Valve is on the job. As of now, I'm more optimistic in regards to the issue as a whole. Sweetness.

Wow, that was an enjoyable one. Very talented man, that Yahtzee! -
I'm getting a "New Super Mario Bros." vibe from this announcement. While that game was pretty good, I personally didn't like it or find it nearly as memorable as the classic 2-D Marios. Nevertheless, here's what I'm hoping for with this new needlemouse project: - Focus on speed/physics-based platforming. - Nice music. Some remixes would be nice. - Only Sonic, Tails and Knuckles as playable characters, utilizing the moves they learned in S3&K. - The heart and soul of the classic Sonics, which is what gives the game life. 2-D alone can't do that. - Either make it a download-able game, or give it enough content to justify a full $50-$60 purchase. - Don't change Sonic's look. That blacked-out logo looks fishy to me. - NO BOOSTING!!! - No new characters. - New special stage that feels like the classic special stages. Quick, easy, and addictive. - Super forms in all stages. - Simple multiplayer, and definitely NO minigames!

I saw the midnight showing as well. I loved the IB's leader, and the "Jew Hunter." Everyone else was pretty good. The action was brutal and engaging, and the movie also had this whole "tense" thing going for it. But holy freaking crap, the dialogue scenes dragged on and on and on and...so forth. Unfortunately, It took 10 minutes for the beginning scene to become interesting. It was probably the biggest disappointment, for me. Still, this movie had other things going for it, like symbolism, for instance. The milk, the character portrayals, the fire and smoke at the end (won't say anymore than that), it was all pretty good, and I'm sure I missed a whole bunch more. I only have one other thing to say about this movie. Hugo Stiglitz.

[insert big sarcastic sigh here] Freaking stupid Network...but, on the other hand, was Craig really important anymore? I never liked Foster's that much anyway...

Congrats Yahtzee! 100 videos, and the quality of each video is all still, roughly, the same quality. Good quality, that is. Here's to 100 more! -
Playing a game for so long you start to see it IRL...

I work at Fed Ex as a package handler. Basically, I take the boxes off the conveyor belt and fit them together inside the truck. It's almost exactly like real life tetris. I even have a system where I'll save a certain-shaped box for later until it will fit perfectly in my current row. I often take this perfection much too far, and it even gets me behind in my stacking... That sounds like -
Until I watch the new ep and hear the voices with my own 2 ears, I won't let my guard down. Still, this appears to be very good news indeed.
