Yeah basically this. This is an example of a very cookie-cutter trance track. Really long build-up, extremely basic treatment of the source, and then a long outro. I'm not really digging this piece; very little in the way of dynamics. The percussion is almost exactly the same throughout the entire piece and it sounds like most of the synths are sitting around the midrange. This needs way more. More dyamics, fuller soundscape, etc. Really gotta expand this piece and go beyond the basic stuff. NO

Pretty cool. Nice interpretation and arrangement of both themes. Electronic drums seem to be fighting with the ethnic drums for attention, but it's not a dealbreaker. I do like the ethnic sound. Sounds good. YES

When starting a thread, you should provide a link or an explanation as to what you're talking about. Don't just start up a conversation assuming people already know what you're discussing. I added a link to the Bitwig site in the first post.

NO, resub I like the arrangement but a lot of these leads are really vanilla. The portamento'd lead somehow doesn't seem to sit in the mix properly. Feels really dry and exposed. They heavy syncopation of the melody doesn't really lend itself well to the portamento. Sequencing is really mechanical. I realize that you're not trying to imitate live instruments, but there are sections like 1:50-ish where there's practically no change in velocities throughout the entire melodic line. Needs some work I think.

Part 1 of the comic book sequel series is already out. If you haven't read it yet, you really should. It's very good and the tone of the book is basically the same as the show. If you are a TLA fan then it's basically required reading.

Yeah I agree, the volume of the voices in the CGI shorts were too loud. The actual cel-animated ones were fine though. I like the one where Palutena is chasing the carrots around. I think she might be my new #1 Nintendo girl.
