  1. Yeah, and we should all listen to country with old beards and no hair. It really depends on how the sampling is done, enough said.
  2. Wasn't the franchise with John Steed and Emma Peel already created in 1998 starring Uma Thurman and Sean Connery? EDIT: Sorry, wrong Avengers. That can easily confuse people who watch both Marvel and BBC.
  3. This is excellent stuff. Love the organ and pads on top. I'll put in a full review later. If you had the choice, Willrock, would you make a "LSDJ-ish version" collab with halc?
  4. Wow, did zircon just go "Daft Punk" on us?! Amazing! Anyway, here's the review. zircon gives alot of varied mixes and as of late did a great spoof on another spoof of a game with the same name: Schmelda's Macarena of Time. But onto the song; the intro has some growling bass that you would normally hear in drum and bass music, but at :23 he drops one of the fatest Daft Punk style beats I've heard in a while. The bellish leads are kind of drowned out by the bass, but that could be just my headphones. I tried listening with the treble and found they're more paddish in terms of leads. Some of the saw work is amazingly impressive after 0:55 seconds where the beat sounds more rocky than house (BTW, for those here who think electro-house is boring, refer all the electro house tracks to myself (I need more of that stuff)). Anyway, At 1:41, we get a little bit of break core action to 1:55 which brings us to an awesome melody of the "next song?" Then at 2:23 we hear a more spy theme oriented song. This track seems more like a medley which is a nice switch, but I'm a guy who likes his techno with variations in sound and chords rather than rythums. The ends kind of a teaser as you think it's a transition, but it drops to the root note of the last song. It kind of left me wanting more to be honest. I'm not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing. I'd recommend this track to Daft Punk fans, but the over-all medley-ish feel to it may leave listeners scratching their heads (not my problem). So if I were to rate this unbiasedly, it would be a perfect 10/10, but for those who want a more traditional electro house song, you'd probably get 9/10 in this case, due to squishing three songs into 3 minutes and 40 seconds. PS Again, electro-house isn't boring to me, It is my second-favourite music genre and I can listen to it for hours. Send me your tracks if you have any, even if you feel they may bore others. Love Aaron
  5. Okay, my recent Will Smith posts de-railed the thread. Sorry. Anyway, who's up for moving onto the ?
  6. Scary isn't it? This one's good though:
  7. You guys forgot about Will Smith: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Pp3agRmDFs Enough said.
  8. I love it! It takes me back to the roller rinks in the 90s where the people are doing the actions to the song with roller blades on. You guys do realize there's a Spanish-themed parody game with the same title where Ganondorf tries to steal the "Taco-force?" You have to fight a bull in a cave and use a red cape as a shield. The funniest bit in that game is that the bull dances to the macarena on its back after you defeat it. But yeah, song is funny and has some novelty to it as well. Great stuff guys!
  9. People have always mistaken creativity for insanity. When it comes to this thing, I haven't. If the trend of robots taking over music sites actually keeps up, I'm going to quit music altogether. This is ten times worse than Southern hip-hop taking over East and West Coast in 2005. And I mean it!
  10. Hey guys! I'm not sure where to post this, so mods can move it to the appropriate location if necessary. I've got myself an hour set on the campus radio station for Assiniboine Community College in Brandon MB where I'm taking Computer Systems/Web Design. http://cj-106.assiniboine.net/about.aspx (schedule not updated yet) Obviously, part of the station's mission is to promote Canadian music/news/documentaries that aren't heard of before. So 35% of the content I play must be Canadian based. If any of you are familiar with MAPL, you'll know what I'm talking about. Long story short, I'm either going to be doing documentaries on Canadian based gaming subjects, or Canadian unsigned/undgerground/under-rated music that could use some play on the radio. Is there any unsigned Canadian remixer (or forum member who makes music) that would be willing to let their originals (or remixes but mostly originals) be broadcast over the station during the hour? I'll even accept crappy demo recordings, chiptunes, short songs, long songs, whatever; just make sure it'll sound good to my ears and won't contain any offensive content, and it'll go on air. So yeah, fire away links; self-plug, advertise, do whatever if you want exposure like I did once.
  11. Fishy, I won't be able to get my first WIP up since I've got a few school things that need attending to before May. Also, the Evil Mist's Rebirth Remix for this one is not going anywhere. I'll check and see if there's another song that isn't claimed that I can try. Cheers, Aaron
  12. I think this is why it didn't go through. Your stuff borrows heavily from the following: Added by: The Jade Emperor <jade_emperor@vgmusic.com> Date Added: 2002-06-11 File URL is http://www.vgmusic.com/new-files/KakarikoPartyMix.mid Uploaded by justin@nci2.net (Hyperion) Originating IP Address: 208.130.45.87 File Type: MIDI Game System: Super Nintendo Game Name: Legend Of Zelda, The: A Link To the Past Song Title: Kakariko Village (PARRTAAY Remix) Sequenced by: Hyperion <justin@nci2.net> Song Originally Composed by: Koji Kondo I think the judges figured it out fairly quickly. Personally, I'm not against remixing remixes. I'd say keep at it too; but around here though, remixing remixes is looked down upon very seriously by the judges panel. Sorry dude. Try submitting it to Remix the Sauce. Maybe they'll get you a spot.
  13. 3D gives me a headache. Even staying on the computer too long causes neck issues for me. I actually had to cancel a performance I had due to how bad the migrain was once. No lie.
  14. You know you're not a hardcore gamer when lonliness over-rides enjoyment of the game. When I get ANY game going in my apartment, the "Do Not Disturb Except for the Dominos Delivery Guy" sign is up on my door.
  15. Interesting west coast stuff. What's the source tune?
  16. Now that I think about it, so do I. Although the song is good, I find it disturbing that at the time Mr StarBlast created this song, he uses the Bible in an esotaric fashion without actually considering the "real" revelation behind the words used. I say this because a year later, he wrote a juvenille FF6 mainstream rap remix with the term STFU. My questions to StarBlast would be "What do words actually mean to you as a person? Do you actually consider the fact that words can be used to inspire rather than just entertain?" Please do not treat words in the English language like a baby playing with building blocks. They've got way more power than you think when both spoken and meditated upon.
  17. Point taken. Yet the question I'd come up with is what makes movies like Clockwork Orange and Napolean Dynamite appealing to fans of an obscure genre of film? If there were reports of Shigesato Itoi himself meeting with directors (highly unlikely) to discuss what works and what doesn't work, I think it can be pulled off. But then, the film would be more than 3 hours long, so to compliment Arcana's above post Earthbound would make a great TV series (just don't rip off Smallville. Gigyas would make a horrible Davis Bloome-ish character).
  18. Anyone ever try LSDJ?
  19. Try googling Romancing Walker. A great RM2K game.
  20. It was sort of halfway done with a rushed storyline and already with the worst special effects: However, if animated, I prefer the Mother series was done Matt Groening style since it can come across as comedy rather than an epic movie. If Earthbound were a live block-buster motion picture, I'd only trust J. J. Abrams to direct if Nintendo were to let Hollywood at it.
  21. What about Groovemaster303? He's got some pretty good FM stuff as well.
  22. Someone should do a trance/dance remix using only beatboxing and a Kaosspad; very similiar to this:
  23. If you actually listen to zykO's non-rap tracks, I think he actually meant to do Backwards Room in a sort of unrefined presentation with slightly distorted vocals and detuned grungy guitarwork. His music generically is quite esotaric, yet keeps a listener hooked in. His lyrics have massively improved in terms of his non-raps. But back to the original song, usually production doesn't bother me either, unless a song has a key component that's too loud or too soft.
  24. I can agree, but as far as I can tell, not alot are hating the track. There's a difference between using judgement to write off a track completely and suggestions for improvement. This track does have nasty production issues that needed addressing. There is room for improvement in the area of overall vocal amplification. I can sympathize with Hale-Bopp after reading his post since I do my own vocal mastering and compression myself. When it comes to Jose however, some rap that is subtly loose over a rythum is fine with me as long as the listener can focus on the lyrics.
  25. Um, wow. No need to review this because it would be pointless. All I can say is this is exactly what happens when you mix White and Nerdy with the Chocobo Theme. I don't hate it, but I think one listen is enough. I'm gonna go back to listening to DJ Premier instrumentals now.
