  1. Hi peeps This is a completed arrangement of 3 songs from Lufia and the Fortress of Doom, completely reharmonized and partwritten by hand over 6-7 months, to fit the theme of "Deliverance" from pain. Also a nod to the fact that these are "Door of Journey", "Departures" and,"To A New World". It is a sad but also hopeful tune. Yes, life is tough, but it can get better, and we can find small victories in the immense shadows. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGUb_K-Uac4&feature=youtu.be If you like please subscribe to my youtube channel as I'll be posting more remixes, music theory analysis, maybe some break downs of video game songs theory wise, maybe some game reviews and such, and some original music. I am going to be submitting this to OCRemix later as I'm quite proud of the COMPOSITION. however, I'm not going to submit this version because I want to practice guitar and bass more and re record next year so I get a professional sound. I did my best, but I just want this to be jaw droppingly good with the playing. At that point I will also be re-engineering it too, but I think the mix is pretty decent, for me at least XD. The different changes in dynamics between instruments and parts forced me to learn automation, so that was good lol
  2. I don't see too many remixes or covers for the Virtua Fighter series. Maybe I'm the only one that thinks the music is awesome haha. I spent a lot of time burning through quarters with this one at the arcades and on the Saturn. Anyways, any critiques or comments are always appreciated. Peace
  3. Hello OCRemix! I made a megaman 2 remix of the password theme. I got the idea from my tutor who's helping me out with all things music theory and production. I thought I would also post it here, and see if any of you would enjoy it or have some advice for a budding remixer/composer. What I was going for is an improv session with the source material while trying to go into different places as well with it. Thank you for anyone that reads this post, and hope you have a wonderful weekend. WARNING: I haven't mixed and mastered yet as I'm very green in those areas so please take that into consideration. Here is the original version and my version. You only need to listen to the first 5 seconds of the source material. Thank you again!
  4. After many (sometimes frustrating) hours of work I have finally managed to complete this remix. I turned the second BGM from the classic Game Boy game 'Tennis' into an orchestral piece. This time I worked with FL Studio 20 and more professional sound libraries such as Cinematic Strings 2 and Garritan Personal Orchestra 5. I first expected to just copy/paste the notes from my MuseScore version, but quickly found that working with better packages was very inspirational. As a result I managed to create a much more interesting and vibrant composition than I could not have pulled off with MS. I made some important changes compared to the first version: Added a pizzicato intro that is supposed to suggest a tennis match with 2 points scored before a ace is landed. This is a reference to a feature in the game where the computer will often use a nearly unstoppable move (ace in tennis terms) that got me so angry as a kid playing this game. The title reflects this also: 'Ace on Me'. I replaced the vibraphone and harp with the piano, which just sounds much better. I added more voices and used different play styles for the strings sections. Thanks to this discussion I was able to overcome some problems with getting the volume right. I did my best to make the mix work well, but still need more practice with the mixer, EQ and all that stuff. I am open to your feedback, but also a bit reluctant to touch this project more. I would very much like to submit it to ocremix, so I guess if it is not up to standards yet, I may have to dive back into it. Alright, enough talk. To the mix: Original track: Previous version:
  5. Hullo OCR! I haven't really tried creating music in at least 7 years, thought it was time to give it a shot again now that I have a newer computer. Figured I'd practice with something simple, get the hang of things. Here is what I have so far, curious whether anyone has suggestions on what I can be doing better while I'm in the early stages. The percussion is definitely temporary, I plan on writing out more complex parts (as an ex-drumline member that's really what I'm looking forward to) Anyway, let me know what you guys think!: https://www.indiesound.com/track/49788
  6. Hey everyone! I would really appreciate any feedback you can give on this track! It started off as a boom-bap / lofi groove, and evolved into something more. The "chorus" section teeters on the edge of more electronic, maybe future bass? Anyway, the general structure of the remix is done, and I'm happy with how it sounds but I feel like it could use something else. Please leave your honest thoughts, feel free to roast the track too if you hate it! Also, one thing in particular, PLEASE let me know what you think of the bass. I've been having trouble reigning it in but it sounds a lot better now than it did a few version ago. Just let me know if it sounds too loud. THANK YOU to anyone who is willing to listen and give feedback! I'd be happy to return feedback if you link me to your post. REMIX (WIP): ORIGINAL SONG:
  7. Hello everyone! I have a new arrangement to post here. Sorry to have taken so long to post another upload, but so much has been going on this summer, so please bear with me! This is an arrangement for full Orchestra of the music to Rito Village from "Legend of Zelda - Breath of the Wild". I attempted in this arrangement to get the original music as accurately as possible, the first time it is played, and then, when it is repeated, the melody and thematic material are developed for full Orchestra, to capture the awe of the physical surroundings of the Village in its mountainous setting. The link to the piece on Soundcloud is below:
  8. Hi there!, here you can hear a demo for Queen Gohma, from my upcoming Zelda Ocarina of Time remix album, hope you like it
  9. First off I just want to say thanks to some of OCR's finest musicians for being an inspiration. I occasionally jump on and off of FL Studio, I hit a wall stopping in a lot of projects and don't even bother sharing them. After listening to Zircon, Sixto Sounds, Willrock, and many others I told myself I'll eventually have something somewhat decent. Well anyways here is what I have so far, I have a few things I know have to really work on, the synth at the later half of the song and changing the outro. Please share what you think and tell me whats good so far or anything that comes to mind. Thanks for listening!
  10. This started out as something totally different, but ended up being a retro 80s take on the classic Corneria theme from Starfox (or Starwing in my case), based on very happy memories watching Stranger Things & enjoying the soundtrack. Straightforward stuff but playing around with the atmosphere was great fun! Would love to hear your thoughts. EDIT: Second update to the track. Good enough for my YouTube channel but keen to hear your thoughts before submitting to OCR! Here's the track: Here's the original: And here's the Stranger Things theme tune, which the track isn't based on but gives a good idea of the feel. Thanks for listening! Let me know what you think.
  11. Some time ago I wanted to propose a short Xenogear short film based on its own time after the events of Xenogear. I had to deal with other things and decided to launch the Cinematic version of the Faraway Promise melody that corresponds to the animation. Soon I will release said short film. Enjoy.
  12. =) The King is back, baby. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1j5rnXW_eRVtOYCsmqzfVOq3j3xm5dxng I made this in Fruity Loops Studio with Super Audio Cart. For reasons unknown to me the fade in/fade out/pitch bending does not work within Kontakt for FLS. Tell me what you think and if I should remake more stuff.
  13. What's up everybody. It's been a while. I've never done a drum and bass style before and thought this would be a dope way to start learning it. I remade the ending credits theme from the original Marvel vs Capcom. Not a remix but not a cover either so I called it reborn. I'm also not submitting this here. Let me know any opinions, critiques, etc. Peace Original My version
  14. So This is the most recent version. I think it's at a point where I'd consider submitting it. I'd just like to get some final feedback and confirmation. My biggest concern is just that my remix might sound too stiff and mechanical (like as far as the beat and timing). Does it need a bit of humanization? I can't really tell if it does, myself. And if it does, I'm not sure how to go about properly fixing it. Any help at all is appreciated! I'd just like to get some advice and criticism regarding stuff the overall sound quality, synth choices, and general composition. I'd really like to submit this for judging sometime, so I want to make sure I've taken care of all the little details to make it good and polished. A couple specific concerns I had involved the drums and synth I used at 2:10. I want to make sure the drums aren't sounding too repetitive and that transitions between sources are smooth enough. The problem with the synth is just preference, really. Does it actually sound good to other people? I like it, personally, but at the same time, I don't know if it fits the mood of the track. Let me know if anything sounds weird. Any feedback is appreciated. 15. I guess I should first mention that this is actually a collaboration made with my bro, who doesn't have an OCR account. More importantly, this is an amateur's fusion of the Rundas Battle (Metroid Prime 3) and the Boss Battle themes from Freedom Planet made with Soundtrap. Metroid has always been one of my favorite games for music, and I loved Rundas' battle from the first time I heard it playing Metroid Prime Trilogy. When I heard the boss music from Freedom Planet, I thought that it would go great with Rundas. So, several weeks and two failed finales later, my bro and I made this little piece, named after Rundas’ last words in Metroid Prime 3. Some kind of attempted rock-techno thing. At any rate, I gladly look forward to any feedback to make this a better arrangement! Sources: And a time stamp, in case anyone wants it. Zero to 0:37 – Rundas Intro 0:37 to 1:05 – Freedom Planet Boss part A (with Rundas intro underlying.) 1:05 to 1:32 - Rundas part A over Boss battle part A melody. 1:32 to 1:54 - original bridge loosely based on Boss Battle part A. 1:54 to 2:25 – Rundas part A with liberal ornamentation and variation. 2:25 to 2:53 - Rundas part B 2:53 to 3:00 - Boss Battle bridge 3:00 to 3:29 - Rundas and Boss Battle part A. 3:29 to 3:56 - Boss Battle part B. 3:56 to 4:30 - Boss Battle bridge, Rundas part C. 4:30 to 4:34 – A little made up transition. 4:34 to 4:48 – Boss Battle part C with original counter melody. 4:48 to 5:15 – Boss battle part B, Rundas part B (failed finale 1). 5:15 to 5:42 – Recycled ornamental parts, with some Rundas part B (failed finale 2). 5:42 to 5:56 – Boss battle part B. 5:56 to 6:15 – Dueling solos? 6:15 to 6:44: Boss battle part B with Rundas intro and part A.
  16. That's my first remix/cover of a Game Soundtrack, so please, leave your Feedback and Tips to help me improve my soundtrack! Thx.

  18. Though it was meant to be sung by the fairy in the Playstation game, I always picture Sonia singing this lullaby to young Trevor at the end of" Legends" ! I also thought arranging the piece in the same style as A2's "Chosen One" might be a good idea -- tell me if it is Original: Remix (Instrumental): Feedback is welcome !

  20. It's kind of a synthwave sandwich with a calm center. Any feedback is welcome. "Still haven't thought of a title yet" The original song -
  21. Hey Remixers! Long time listener, first time caller. I'm a classical pianist by training and decided to arrange a fugue for piano based on the theme from Route 29. For those who aren't familiar, a fugue has a couple of rules: The fugue subject must be the first thing you hear in the piece: the subject here is the Route 29 theme and appears and reappears in many voices throughout the movement. Voices must enter one at a time, each with the subject. This is a three-voice fugue, so there are three distinct lines, no more. The second entrance of the subject must be in the dominant. The third entrance is back in the tonic. If there are additional voices, continue to alternate. These elements make up the exposition, or start, of the fugue. After the exposition, rules break down a bit, but common features include development (a repeated musical or rhythmic pattern which often modulates to a new key), a pedal point in the bass leading up to the climax, as well as a pedal point at the end of the piece. Everything else is free game! Here's a shitty MIDI export of my arrangement—please ignore the recording quality! I'm looking for feedback on the composition itself. I want the writing to be solid before I practice up the real deal Even if you don't have a classical background, I'd love to hear thoughts: Are there any parts that delighted or surprised you? Where and why? Does anything feel "off"? Tempo, key changes, rhythm, overall structure... The fugue is quite short. Are there any sections you'd like to see expanded or revisited? Are there any other Pokemon themes you imagine that could be quoted within this fugue? Anything other thoughts? Thanks so much!
  22. Hey everyone, About a week ago a friend of mine that plays bass asked me to record a duet of To Zanarkand with him on trumpet. Rather than just transcribe the piano part I thought it'd be cool to change it up a bit and see if we could put a Remix together. The end result is a pretty fairly conservative arrangment with some stylistic variations (mostly in the bass part) intended to give the feeling of walking through various areas of a ruined city. I have a first draft that I'm pretty happy with, and now would like some feedback on the arrangement. What can I do to make it better? All I have right now is a midi and sheet music. Once the arrangement is finalized we will record it live. Thanks for your help! Midi and score are both here: Midi and Score Source : To Zanarkand - Final Fantasy X EDIT:. Hmm over a hundred views but no replies.. just checking but are people not able to get to the files?
  23. Wassup guys! Description: Inspired by the music of Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future, here is my take on the track “Perils of the Coral Reef”. My version is called “Joys of the Coral Reef” which is a lo-fi chill hip hop beat with beautiful strings and a sax solo, and calming ocean, dolphin, and whale sounds. Imagine swimming in the clear blue sea with this tune playing! Enjoy! UPDATE: Made a lot of changes! Will submit this! Listen Here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1g8r11ish65xrh0/Perils of the Deep Sea (Lofi).mp3?dl=0 This is the track from the actual game:
  24. I previously made a remix of this exact melody a while ago, but for some reason at 4am I just had this idea pop into my head. Any constructive criticism would be well appreciated. (I know the mp3 says "final" but that was just the version that I put up on soundcloud).
  25. Hey guys, I haven't posted anything in a while but I wanted to get some feedback on this remix of mine. I was inspired after hearing the original song and wanted to create a synth version of it. I think it turned out pretty well but I feel like it might be missing the 'epic feel' of the original. Obviously the production quality for League of Legends in much higher but either way I wanted all of your opinions on how I could improve the piece. Thank you so much for listening! The Original song is here:
