  1. Hi guys! I'm back with a second remix.. As with the first one (Donkey Kong Country - Aquatic Ambiance // A Journey Through Grand Oceans), it is a lenghty track. Motivated by a few twists and turns which hopefully will keep the listener interested all the way. The style is electronic and instrumental, alternating between a bass/trap/hiphop-ish beat (?) and a slow house groove. Kind of. Sooo.. ready for review <3 I would love to lend someones ears to hear the mix/mastering of this one. Does it sound good overall? Anything I could change? Many thanks in advance. Dropbox link: Removed! Scroll down for the full track. Original tune: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-s-VQBoUdc
  2. Hello there! Today is the day I release a new remix of mine, so I've figured it would be a good occasion to open my first thread in here. To start 2018 on a high note I've decided to remix one of the dance-y/trance-y tracks from System Shock 2...and make it even more dance-y/trance-y, with chord stabs, acid lines, 170bpm and whatnot. Honestly I don't even know what genre this track falls into, but I hope you guys will enjoy nonetheless! [.video=youtube;] [/video.]
  3. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1T5eDElJYZT5D5WAjTdUCymAXJI3PJNVL/view?usp=sharing Made this in like 5 minutes. Might compile all the 8 bit remasters into one post when I get enough of them done. Enjoy. Want requests, send them to me.
  4. Basically I used the GB samples from SAC. Enjoy. No pitch bends/fade ins like the original, though. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Xi0otdAvqjW2nKhJonX70QCviHLDEcQN/view?usp=sharing
  5. So I recently blitzed through Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which has an awesome soundtrack. Like seriously even if you don't have an interest in the game I highly recommend checking it out. After almost 100 hours in the game, I felt it was time to try my hand at a remix. This is a remix of the music that plays in one of the towns at night. "Don't Forget Me" has become something of a meme in Xenoblade/other gaming circles. Anyone who's played the game will know what I mean Original song: Remix: Anyways, probably not submission material, but if someone thinks otherwise I may consider submitting it. I hope you enjoy!
  6. Hey everybody, got a new arrangement here. This is an arrangement for full Orchestra, entitled "On the Sea, the Land and in the Sky", containing music from a few games in the Legend of Zelda Series. After a brief introduction, where some of the themes are introduced, the music starts off in grand fashion with The Great Sea from Wind Waker. Afterwards, there is a transition to a calmer, pastoral and serene collection of tunes from Hyrule Field from Ocarina of Time, before the music builds up and concludes with a big, powerful rendition of The Sky from Skyward Sword. Also made through Sibelius 7 and NotePerformer. Hopefully, the strings don't sound so artificial!!
  7. First submission here, I wanted to share my orchestral remix of DKC 2's Haunted Chase. Mostly orchestral...I added in a bunch of door slamming type effects to capture the feeling of going through the level's gates. Original: -Juke
  8. Hey everyone, I've been working on a chilled out version of Mabe Village from Link's Awakening. I completely rearranged the song's chord structure, and played most of the riffs/runs using a midi keyboard. This is a style I've been very fond of lately and have used it for some other Zelda Remixes, none of which I felt were worthy of submitting, but I think with some polish I might be able to get this one up to par. +Overall song structure/arrangement +Mixing/sound choices I included a middle section with a different vibe/different chords to spice it up a bit. My biggest challenge on this one is that the tune is pretty short and only has one section. I experimented with a few different ideas to lengthen the track, but if anyone has any other ideas I'm open to hearing them. Right now I think the length is OK, but there is still more work to do to keep it from sounding repetitive. Lastly, I'm open to collaboration on this if anyone is interested (one thought was maybe a real guitar playing over some of the sections instead of my so-so plugins) EDIT: updated link, song is finished now, but I may go back and make changes if needed before submitting
  9. Hi OC Remix! I want to share my newest arrangement, intertwining the the themes of "Terra" from FF9 and "Phantom Forest" from FF6. These tracks both introduce new, mysterious locations to the gamer, twisting what they've learned so far in the game. Ironically I just happened to listen to these songs one-after-the-other in my playlist, and immediately heard the similarities! My arrangement strays from my usual style of upbeat remixes.. It felt weird to me to keep a beat with barely using any percussion. I hope you enjoy listening to this! I'm open to any comments and feedback, and greatly appreciate your time listening to my music. Thank you!! 10. been a while since i've posted here i'm currently working on a remix of a tune from Uncharted 4. i'm trying out a different approach to form that slowly builds tension through layering parts and hinting at later chord progressions. i'm taking a lot of inspiration here from Mogwai and Yotto. for reference, i'm basing my arrangement off the tune as it appears on the OST and in-game. at the moment i'd say i have maybe two-thirds of the form sketched out. some of the parts (like the drums) and other instrumentation are placeholders for the time being. in any case, feedback is appreciated, thanks for listening (updated 2/1)
  11. I always admired the musical style of Hans Zimmers in the Dark Knight trilogy so I decided to try and recreate one of my favorite game soundtracks in a similar style. A buddy of mine has this synth in his DAW called Zebra which is the same synth that Zimmer used when working on those movies, there's even a preset pack that Zimmer released called "Dark Zebra" which has some of the actual sounds from the films, that's what I used to create most of this track. I picked the battle theme from FF7 because it worked well with the dark tones of the Zebra synth, mixing something like this while also trying to stay true to both the original song and emulate Zimmers style is really difficult, it's basically all bass so sound separation was a nightmare, not to mention sound selection. I'm really happy with the end result and I hope you guys like it as well, this was a lot of work and more than a few called in favors.
  12. https://drive.google.com/open?id=12mtnX-lrSZLQ-3hDcrKPIsJM9-4AXW1a Well, I got my mic to work. Recorded in mono, messed up a lot, but hey, those pedal are hard to maneuver with your feet. Feel free to request other songs/give your opinion on this one. I shall try to record myself playing piano on my huge 8 octave keyboard soon.
  13. Here's the link to the updated version for your convenience, I've removed some of the percussive instruments and just generally changed the whole mix to get rid of some of the imbalance. So I decided to make an acoustic version of this classic Zelda tune, I did my best with the filters to make it sound like an old latin song that you might have heard on the radio. I used something like 10 different percussive elements some panned, all with customized velocity and slight time delay, did my best to separate all the instruments as much as possible, but the filters and compressor does kinda make it hard to hear them all, it's a trade off I had to make to get old sounding effect. Nothing fancy on the guitar style, I used what I had in Nexus and used some effects to tweak the sound. I know that this style of remix has been done before it just fits this song so well. Hope you guys like it. There's a link in the video description if you want to download it.
  14. PURPLE CASHMERE CANNONBALL - YOUTUBE PURPLE CASHMERE CANNONBALL - SOUNDCLOUD First remix of 2018 - and I do hope it's enjoyable m'friend's : )
  15. Hi guys. I've been visiting this site for ages and decided to throw my hat in the ring. I've given the BGM of Duke Nukem's Hollywood Holocaust a late 90s rave / acid treatment. I hope you guys enjoy it!
  16. Every few days in December, I uploaded a Christmas-style remix of a classic video game song to my channel. Now that December is over, I've completed the album and uploaded it as one big video. Most of these are just covers so I'm not planning on submitting any of them (unless you think certain ones could be accepted). I just want to post this here for you guys to enjoy. I had a lot of fun making these and I'd love for you to listen to them and let me know what your favorites are and how I could improve for next year. 17. Hello all, It's been a long time ... but I'm still making music. It's an electronic music remix for Dracula's Castle in SOTN. Hope you will like it. It's a electronic music remix with the same melody and structure but .. remanied. Castlevania Symphony Of The Night - Dracula's Castle (Dirty Delay Remix)
  18. Hey all! I wanted to share my latest project with you. I've been working on re-imagining the soundtrack to Chrono Cross as if it were a film score - classic symphony orchestra and all. What I'm sharing is the 2nd track on the album (I'm currently writing the 4th) of around 12 or so. I don't mind feedback, but mostly I wanted to share this with other fans of the series and get the album a little exposure before I try to kickstart a release later this year. I hope you enjoy it! I also can post the 1st track and parts of 3 and 4 if anyone is interested! 02 Far From Home - Cross Symphonic P.S. sorry if I posted this in the wrong section...
  19. Hello people. Wanted to share here one of my work. It isn't supposed to become an OCR thing, but just wanted to share it with you, as i think it's one of my "best" work so far. Even if i'm still a noob with synth and i still have a lot to learn about mixing. But anyway, here it is, any kind of feedbacks, even harsh ones are welcome, as my goal is to keep on improving =)
  20. Here is my remix of Anything But Tangerines. I used only instruments taken directly from the SNES and Genesis versions of the game, then mixed them in a DAW. It was quite the ordeal unscrambling the crazy sound channels in the SNES version, but that's a video for another day.
  21. https://drive.google.com/file/d/10kfzmuJDH219sAaJClFQAJbfra_pOSLz/view?usp=sharing Hey everyone! This is my first time posting here and my second attempt at remixing so I'm looking for some feedback. This song, the Lanayru Harbor music from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, may seem like a weird choice but the song always stuck out to me. One day it dawned on me that smashing the song Augusta, GA by Into It. Over It. and the Lanayru Harbor song together might yield something cool. Well, this rock remix is what came out of it. I'm particularly looking for feedback on the mix since that is something I've never been good at. Also, the song is pretty short, but both of the source songs are pretty short and I couldn't come up with anything to add length that didn't sound forced. Thanks!
  22. Yoshi Mushroom A First attempt at an OC style remix. Hard to find game, and even harder to find any reference (midi, wav, gameplay). My friend is going for a world record attempt on twitch, and this song got stuck in my head.
  23. As I love Hayato Asano's work for Blue Reflection, I decided to arrange one of my favorite tracks from the soundtrack for piano. The original music is incredibly dense and rich with layers, and this is something I wanted to preserve in the arrangement. This work is not intended for a sole pianist to play - though it would be possible to arrange it for two pianos - though it has been performed to great effect by an automated piano I'm blessed to have access to. Blue Reflection is not a very well known game. It's a JRPG developed by Gust (known for the Atelier, Ar Tonelico and Nights of Azure series) and was released in Japan in April earlier this year. The game is about Hinako, a high school ballet dancer who has damaged her ankle and has lost her ability to dance. After becoming acquinted with her classmates Yuzu and Lime, she is given the power to fight as a magical girl, referred to as a "Reflector", allowing her to move freely, but also burdening her with the responsibility to fight otherwordly beings threatening to end the world. The soundtrack mixes drum'n bass, orchestral music and shibuya kei, united with Hayato Asano's trademark larger than life melodies and powerful, driving arrangements. All kinds of comments are welcome. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate asking and I'll answer to the best of my ability. Please enjoy! The original track can be heard here:
  24. Here is a straight literal remix of Ken's Stage for Super Nintendo. As in, I used emulation of extract the highest quality version of each sound channel from the original game, and then remixed it all in a DAW without adding any outside samples or tracks from any other source. Modern EQ, reverb, compression, and guitar amp simulators helped a lot to improve the sound. A few measures of the original SNES sound are spliced in for comparison.
