DarkSim Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Ahhh I've been hoping for a ReMix of this source in this style, and it's so powerful it works superbly. Great job on going for the "zircon" feel as well - it's an ambitious task but I think you've nailed it. Fantastic job, and an instant favourite Quote
halc Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 this here's easliy my favorite willrock mix :3 some parts of this still remind me of beej's 'Fragments of Gold', which is of course, a very good thing. excellent work, dude Quote
Benjamin Briggs Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 this remix is so badass it just gave me a full face transplant now I look like nicholas cage D: Quote
WillRock Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 this remix is so badass it just gave me a full face transplantnow I look like nicholas cage D: I wonder who John Travolta looks like Quote
BlackCurtains Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 "Oh hell yeah!" was my utterance upon hearing this start up, and it just got better from there! Quote
clover fey Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Yet another song that I was kinda "meh" about made over to the point I've changed my mind about it. Sweetness. Quote
Bahamut Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 I found it amusing when WillRock told me earlier that people jumped on him for a perceived wrong note that bothered some people, although it didn't bother either of us (and of course he liked it). But more relevantly, this is a well done song, albeit short. It has a snazzy feel to it which is something I'd consider almost trademark WillRock. Quote
luhny Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 very interesting and fun mix to listen to. me likes Quote
Jewbei Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 damn will this blew me away you gave me some ideas for a version of my own ....keep at it man Quote
Joshua Morse Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 I started listening before reading the write-up and had to do a double-take at the artist; quite surprised when I saw it wasn't zircon. Don't get me wrong, I still think the mix has its own unique sound, but I can definitely hear its inner zircon. Loving the synth brass at 0:48 and on. Quote
big giant circles Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 dang, but Will is prolific, and it's been fun watching him grow as an artist. This mix is great, has all the good stuff, solid drumwork, fantastic solowork, great textures, energy, and of course, a great arrangement. Quote
Emunator Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I named this That practically makes this song, like, 50% mine or something. So where's my damn artist credits? I love this mix so much, it really capitalizes on a lot of great ideas introduced in Will's past remixes and puts them all together into one delectable package. Lovin' it Quote
Digi_Dude_78 Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Awesome stuff from Willrock! This is also one of my fave themes from the Zelda series... As for the mix really awesome and I could even tell the hints of other artists from this site that this would have probably been influenced by... Great job. Quote
washudoll Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 Great to see this one on the front page. Well done Quote
Lemonectric Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 This remix makes me drive faster than I should. Excellent drumwork in particular. I enjoyed the little drum solo. Quote
kraftboy Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Simply sublime (though the backdoor of asskicking) solo work. Really dug the lead syth solos here. Quote
PROTO·DOME Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Oh man, production is ace. Intrumentation is ace. Solos synths are awesome. This is everything good about Willrock's music in one song. Great work man. Quote
Skyline Drop Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I think I heard this one a *long* time ago in the workshop remixes. It's pretty cool to hear the fully fleshed out version, and I can definitely hear the marriage of Zircon's and WillRock's sounds here. It's pretty much all kinds of awesome. Quote
Martin Penwald Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Starts out with a very space-y synth, but I can't say I'm much of a fan of the lead synth coming in at 0:26; I find it rather annoying. The synth taking over the lead at 0:46 is much more to my liking; has a sound somewhere between an 80's synth and something you'd hear in a 16-bit game. Much better. And finally, I'm on the fence about the synth solo starting around 2:10. Don't get me wrong, the way it's used is great, but the sound of it barely manages to stay on this side of the borderline between good and piercing/annoying. I guess some of the sound choices just aren't my cup of tea. Quote
Blackwinged Saron Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 yet another willrock mix that went onto my ipod before i even listened to it...came up at random...and i went "FUUCK! Who did...-look-...oh, yeah LOL" Dude i have loved your work since your green hills mix so long ago...did that one post BTW? Don't care, i have it anyway. Just do what you do man, I will always be a fan. Quote
Giga Bowser Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 I remember this when it was in the wip congratz on getting it accepted on oc willrock ^^ Quote
OceansAndrew Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 another great willrock track- excellent work dude. Quote
Modus Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Loooooove this O_O The lead at :26 somehow fits perfectly to me. I really think you pulled off using a cheesy, awful sample in a way that somehow made it badass. Some people I've shared this with hate the intentional use of cheesy samples, but they were used so intelligently and the patterns are anything but simple... Screw them, this is fantastic. Quote
GravitySuitCollector Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Great job (and name :. I love the mix, although, the lead synth does feel a bit too tinny at times. Keep it up please; your work is great. Quote
