PriZm Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Yeah this is all super exciting. Character design looks awesome so far, and the new stages (arena + moonlit valley) also. I must admit that I can't help but to be a little pissed off when I read the comments though. Quote
PriZm Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Interesting video from comic on detailing a bit of the gameplay and presenting some new faces: Quote
DiGi Valentine Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Gotta love Ivy's design. It's a nice blend between her classy style and the whole dominatrix flex she got going on. To me, this is probably her best costume so far. Loving the complimenting colours too. Very stylish. I read somewhere that Ivy's age has stopped at 32 as well. Hey hey hey~! I'm still holding out and hoping for a Turkish character to appear in this. I can't see how Soul Calibur has gone 4 games so far, all of them set during the Ottoman Empires era, and not one single Turk has appeared in this yet. Quote

Kentama Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 I like how the gameplay for Soul Calibur has improved over the years, but TBH, I've disliked the art style and story for every game after Soul Calibur 1. Soul Edge was awesome and Soul Calibur was simply legendary, but Soul Calibur 2 felt like a retread, and then, well, things just went downhill from there. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the art direction and story has changed much for SC5, so I'm kind of disappointed. It's interesting that they're trying to reset the series in a way, but it just seems to embrace the changes that I've grown to dislike, rather than make a return to form. Aww well. Quote
PriZm Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 News from EVO: Xianghua is gone and will be replaced by her 15 year old daughter. Also two gameplay videos from the stream showcasing ivy, natsu, zwei, patroclus, mitsurugi and siegfried: Quote
Jhawk Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Hilde, Voldo, Maxi, and Tira are Returning SC5 http://shoryuken.com/2011/08/15/hilde-voldo-maxi-and-tira-return-to-soul-calibur-v/ Quote
Garpocalypse Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Great. The trailers at the legendary EVO of SC5 involve one of the designers spamming verticals. I'm having SC4 flashbacks and may knock this off of my list if the system hasn't been improved to get a least some sort of depth to it. So Xianhua was what? Mid-20's? and now she's too old? So her 15 year old daughter is taking her place? Come on, this is just getting corny. Why not bring characters back that actually matter like Li Long and Hwang instead? Quote
zircon Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Seems like the music for this game is gonna be good Quote
The Dual Dragons Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 All new cast!?!? Brilliant if so.. I almost demand that fighting series come with all new casts.. because there isn't much point in getting a game that is exactly like the previous one.. just with another number in the title. So if it's mostly new characters.. I will be getting this for sure.. NOW.. It's time for Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat to do the same thing. Quote

Good feedback against my Street Fighter statement.. I guess all the re-released of the same games has me left a feeling that they seldom bring anything new to the table. I would like to see this kind of fresh take for Street Fighter 5 though.. because I think SF4 is way too similar to past entries. Mortal Kombat 9 was a huge disappointment to me because Ed Boon had hinted that he wanted to make a MK with all new characters.. then he came with the same old same old.. So I truly hope they do that for the next entry in the series. Quote
Arrow Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Seems like the music for this game is gonna be good It damn well better be considering YOU AND JILL ARE DOING SOME OF THE MUSIC. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=10409368&l=66531fa03b&id=46560525379 Quote

PriZm Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 zircon you son of a bitch ! This is gonna be awesome, I can't wait to hear what you guys have done. From what I understand on the poster, Jillian is doing all the vocals on this OST ? Wow Quote
Fenrir Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Not only did I get to play the demo at the Tokyo Game Show, I got to play it against Jillian herself! She packs a mean Ivy! I'm mega excited about this. It's like they went in with the mindset "Everything must be gorgeous" instead of "all female costumes must be absurd" Quote
