Liontamer Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 25YEARLEGEND: A Legend of Zelda Indie Game Composer Tribute 25YEARLEGEND was started as a small indie session, but quickly grew into a massive project with the help of all the indie artists involved. Each featured composer has worked on a notable project in the indie game community while being influenced by the music of Zelda some time in their lives. Hopefully this project will make the 25th anniversary of Zelda that much more enjoyable! - Roger Hicks (Rekcahdam) Preview it: Download it: http://zelda25.ocremix.org Torrent: http://bt.ocremix.org/torrents/25YEARLEGEND_-_A_Legend_of_Zelda_Indie_Game_Composer_Tribute.torrent Quote
Gario Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 This came out on the 14th anniversary of when I first played OoT. How appropriate. Life is good, sometimes. Quote
Nonamer Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 I bought the Skyward Sword bundle two days ago, soundtrack included, and now this? My computer is now loaded with Zelda goodness! Quote
Cash Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Wow, I'm really impressed. Awesome work everyone! It's great to see another Zelda album! Quote
Mr. L Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 A big thanks to everyone involved for this album -- it makes the perfect companion to the special orchestra CD with Skyward Sword; awesome music back-to-back. Well done! Quote
BlackRazgriz Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Wow. I just absolutely love this album. Two pieces from Link's Awakening, one of them Ballad Of The Wind Fish, finally in a song variation. Amazing. Some noteworthy songs: ALL OF THEM!!! I never expected a dance version of "Calling The Four Giants," but it's well done. "Link's Final Battle" is a little tragic after reading the description, but luckily in Zelda II there's a life system, so he'll be back to kick some a$$. Temple of Seasons may be repetitive, but it is well done, short, and catchy so I'm impressed. Closing the entire album, "Zelda's Graceful Nightmare" is one piece of work. Like "Calling The Four Giants" I'd never expect a metal mix of Gohdan, but it works and it works WELL. Fitting that it's the longest piece, it flows well from song to song, leading to the true nightmare at the end. So many sound takes all jumbled up together, and Ganondorf's final laugh...I'm going to have graceful nightmares from here on in. I love the album, very well done to all of you, and here's to another 25 years of happiness Quote
audio fidelity Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Love the feel and look of the trailer! Great work, Jose (I'm assuming you did it). I am just blown away by the conception and how great the execution is. Quote
Damashii!! Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 whoah..... this was quite a surprise right after the Youtube thing. very nice. wow, you all did a really good job with this one! there should be a warning label/subtitle added to this. "awesome overload." Quote
Liontamer Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 Love the feel and look of the trailer! Great work, Jose (I'm assuming you did it). I am just blown away by the conception and how great the execution is. Noooooooooooooooooooooooope. That's all Roger (Rekcahdam)! He nailed it. Quote
sergio Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 What a list of contributors! This is definitely something different (and amazing) for OCR. This album is so unique and varied. There's massive amounts of creativity on show here. I had a blast listening to it! The only think I'm not a fan of is the mastering on several of these tracks! Audible clipping isn't fun. Did one person do mastering across the whole album, or is it just the loudness war taking its toll? Quote
Jewbei Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 i must find the song thats in the trailer it comes on bout 2:30ish i downloaded the album but that song isnt there...maybe i missed something here hmm... Quote

andrew_berge Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Oh, too cool! Thanks! It's great to see the old gameboy titles are getting some love, too. Quote
ArmadonRK Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Is that Josh Whelchel I see slipping some dubstep into his track? That, I will admit, was unexpected. Quote
Chernabogue Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Nice job with the trailer, I like the colors. Not a total fan of the album, but the tracks are very solid, well produced and interesting to listen to. Nice work! Quote
Magnetic Ether Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 It's funny just how many "Hey! Listen!" samples there are in this album XD Some great tracks though Quote
Perigryn Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Totally heading over to download now. I cannot wait to give this a listen! It's a good year to be a Legend of Zelda fan Quote
SwordBreaker Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Well this is totally unexpected. Came out of left field indeed. So far, so good. Listening to the first few tracks and I'm liking what I'm hearing. Great timing as we celebrate Skyward Sword and the franchise's 25th Anniversary. Quote
Dave the Rave Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Urm, guys… you’ve got your publish date wrong. But anyway, congratulations on your 29th album & getting your YouTube channel back on the same day, on Tuesday. Quote

Did one person do mastering across the whole album, or is it just the loudness war taking its toll? I thought the mastering sounded weird on some tracks, too. Particularly on Last dance of the giants, where all the other instruments lose volume at every bass thump, it was just annoying by the end of the song. I don't want to sound unappreciative, though, a lot of work went into this and it's a great album overall. Thanks! Quote

GravitySuitCollector Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Yay, some MM love! Last Dance of the Giants is AWESOME! Quote
rxmarccall Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 This album overall is amazing, but Thunderstruck is freaking amazing, seriously, goosebumps galore, AMAZING! Quote
halc Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 okay, so I really haven't listened to this until just now, but damn, this is really a great album. 'Hey, Listen' is probably my new favorite anosou mix... some ridiculous source integration going on in there. also loved 'Thunderstruck', 'Labyrinth of Dance Floors', and Ballad of the Wind Fish (loved the vocal).. really great, exploratory arrangements that do something totally new with the sources. kudos, nice work, and congrats to everyone involved. Quote
briareoh Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 It's a great album, but the song Thunderstruck from Ocarina of Time is the best one. Fuckin amazin, specially the middle part, with a soft sound and the later crescendo. Quote
