Navi Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Man, I really like this Vurez fellow. All of his mixes thus far are fun and creative. I have to say, I like this one more than "Flurry", though. The use of an "Ennio Morricone-esque" style is apparent in both, but here it fits in with the groove a lot better and makes for some hawt western beat biaz. The instrumentation just rawks my socks off and I love the attention to panning out the various sounds. This is a well deserved OC Remix. I can't wait for more from this fellow. Furthermore, djp, to address your earlier comment in a manner that is both mature and appropriate. IGA SUCKS BOO HISSS KOUGA 4 LIFE NAH NAH NAH BOO BOO Quote
Cadmus Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Very well done. The instruments are varied and they all compliment each other nicely. A good beat throughout keeps it moving. Great work, hope to hear more! Quote
undinesfire Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 I like it. It's smooth and stylish, with a good beat. Keep it up man! Quote
Holmium Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 Yes! Finally a Ninja Gaiden remix, and a good one too! It gets better every time I listen to it. Though I must say, at times the remix sounds more like dance music than a run...another purpose served! Make more if you don't mind. Quote
MikeHive Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 This puts me in mind of that awesome 'Lonely Shepherd' song from Kill Bill. So cool, great work Quote
lopingg Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 This is a really great piece. Deep spacey flutes, and a good bass. It's a kind of a song that you never really gets tired of, and it sounds VERY much like the Zelda Oot Geurdo theme sometimes, but in a good way, so I don't have any complains on this. Good work Vurez, and keep'em coming!!!:D:D Quote
EvilHorde Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 This is awesome. I really like the original tune and this compliments it very nicely. The overall ambience is great, and I love how the song develops and really lets go in the end. Superb. Quote
CC Ricers Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Very nicely done. You can feel the pan-American vibe going through this entire song. Quote
Vurez Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 This puts me in mind of that awesome 'Lonely Shepherd' song from Kill Bill.So cool, great work Oh yes, Zamfir's 'Lonely Shepherd' is a great song. That track came to my mind too while I was working on this. Quote
jmr Posted August 10, 2005 Posted August 10, 2005 Oh yes, Zamfir's 'Lonely Shepherd' is a great song. That track came to my mind too while I was working on this.Yeah, I enjoy Lonely Shepherd as well, especially the James Last-ish horn section... *grabs Zamfir CD* What do you know, Lonely Shepherd is written by James Last!Anyway, am I the only one who hears Gerudo Valley in this track? There seems to be a striking similarity, at least to my ears... Quote
cfG-21 Posted August 10, 2005 Posted August 10, 2005 The song is really good and it fits the level cuz Ryu went to touth America. Kudos for the pan flutes. Quote
Nobbynob Littlun Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 Nice! Now for some irrelevant observations. You know, change a chord here and there, and this could be a zelda 64 gerudo song. Though, a lot of the times it reminds me muchly of Mega Man music, particularly Mega Man 2. Quote
bladiator Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 I love this piece. The mixture of western and stab orchestral is great. It reminds me a lot of the 80's television theme songs, where it was more of a pop feel song, but then the orchestra comes blaring through as background later on. The ending makes me weak in the knees, and I'm always waiting for the wah-wah portion of the song as well. Quote
Sinewav Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 OH MY GOSH! I love the source tune for this song! I never ever thought it would get remixed! THANK YOU! The remix itself is also much, much more than I expected. Gotta love the guitar playing. Quote
meccaneer Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 For real, this sounds like some RPG overworld theme. I ain't no ninja but, if I were, I wouldn't be gettin' my stealth on with this tune. I really can't dig it. Even some of the samples were pretty weak. The guitar is slick. The rest is hick. The drumming and violin at the end is redeeming but, not quite enough. Quote
1337pino Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 With the guitar, this sounds like a remix of the Gerudu Valley song, and I'm glad I'm not the only one that is hearing this (yay, I'm still sane) Quote
tsh2596 Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 This is my favorite song from Ninja Gaiden. Please tell me that there is a guitar tab somewhere! I am dying to learn this and I can't quite get it by ear! Quote
Ruffian Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 by far, one of the best translations directly from a video game. i love the pan flute Quote
YellowYoshi1 Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Hey, another remix that gets stuck on repeat for hours on end. Great job with this. It definately has a Gerudo Valely/western feel, and I like it. Nice work. Quote
nardman Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Sounds almost mexican sobraro type to me. I don't even realize what song was remixed on this one. Not bad, could be better. Quote
Liontamer Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Sounds almost mexican sobraro type to me. I don't even realize what song was remixed on this one. Not bad, could be better. Rather sad if you don't recognize the original in here. This is very far from a liberal arrangement. Quote
your the man now dog Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 i haven't heard the song from the game, but this sounds almost like a Gerudo Valley OOT remix. Morricone western remixes = automatic win. Quote
