Good OC ReMixes for getting through a break-up?

Just wondering, what music do OCR fans listen to when trying to get through emotional pain...it would be good to have some aural therapy right now. I tried listening to some "bright" chiptune'ish stuff, but it's just making me feel worse...and it feels like anything slow I listen to does the same. Sorry if this is a dumb thing to post.

I'm pretty sure pixietricks'( or Jillian aversa officially) remix of radical dreamers is about some sort of breakup or relationship trouble.I always enjoy that song when Im upset. its called dreaming still, I think. I don't have time to check right now since my breaks almost over. good luck though!

I always listen to my yume Nikki mix when I wanna get away.. Its actually my only song I listen but disregarding that shameless plug :P piano music is great. Ambient songs in general, try dreaming on distant shores by rellik. That's a great one. Seriously. And if you like rap listen to memories frozen in time. That's a really good one.

Id link but typing from a phone atm. Hope things go well man.

Not to toot my own horn and looking back I see that the title is kind of lame, but I reworked this specifically in response to how some relationships turned out during a season:

Personally, when I'm seeking music to feel better I try to stay away from the extreme poles (ex., really sad solo piano pieces on the depressive end or really upbeat, grab-a-cup-of-coffee carpe diem contemporary types); but chill stuff with mixed interpretations always calm me down or help me see the bright side of things (not too upbeat, but not too depressive or full of angst):

http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02363/ (an obvious exception in the fact that it just makes you want to jump up and kick some butt, which always a good feeling in my opinion :nicework: )

Hope ya feel better! And if all else fails, I guarantee that spending the afternoon playing any Katamari game, listening to Nujabes, and/or watching Samurai Jack will lift your spirits. I dare you to prove me wrong ;P

for that lonely despondency: Sines - Beej

for that "don't be sad it's over but be happy it happened" feeling: Celestial Winds From the East - McVaffe

for that pseudo-masochistic, self-induced rush of a cry: Closed-Eyed Astronomy - Binster

for that unexpected, post-cry sense of wellbeing: All the World in One Girl - The Wingless

for that older & wiser, occasionally nostalgic, spring-in-your-step, future-self: Brinstar Bonsaid Garden - Red Tailed Fox

for that years-later flashback, reflecting on the reverence of briefly-recovered memories and your younger self: Visions of Kin - James George

for an old and tired heart, lost in ponderance of loss and the cyclical nature of existence: Green Amnesia - Disco Dan

Not an OCRemix, but whenever I've needed it, Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings does the trick. The choir version, Agnus Dei, is equally powerful(same piece, just replacing strings with voices). Get some good headphones, kill the lights, listen to the whole ten-minute piece.

Not exactly happy, but necessary. Ya gotta get it out of your system.

Hope you feel better quickly.

I like things that are peaceful and help calm my emotions. Rare Respite never fails (http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02007/). Anthem of Exile (http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01081/) is also a great one (a little more energetic with the organ solo, and a bit sad) and so is Forest Birdcussion (http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01138/) except more upbeat. Those are three of my overall favorites from the site.

All of your selections are excellent ~ I really enjoyed reading the very nuanced descriptions you put to each one, how some would start off sombre, and brighten on, or other were good for that unexpected rush of bittersweet memories...spot on, spot on.

The fact you all put the effort and thought you did into your replies...that, that makes me feel really better. It really does. If I could hug, high-five, or bro-fist everyone of you through the Internet, I would. OCR is a good community : )

Yeah, I thought there were some great responses there. I think heartbreak stirs us up in so many ways that allow music to have greater effects on us. Having music with so much meaning, variety, and community behind it is a nice thing to have at those times in our lives.
