  1. Tekken 7- The OCR Garpocalyptic Beatdown

I had one of those PS2-to-USB converters lying around so I started playing with my old PS2 controller - I forgot just how much more comfortable it is than my Logitech controller. And it's also way harder to hit a button by accident. Now if only Yoshimitsu had his T5 moveset, I'd have the ultimate Tekken experience.
  2. Tekken 7- The OCR Garpocalyptic Beatdown

The game is great. I beat the story mode and most of the character episodes yesterday, and after that I've started with some online matches. I'm mostly on the losing side, but I figured the pros will all get their rank promotions during the next few days and I'll be able to play more against people of my skill level.
  3. Hey, just wanted to tell you how much I am enjoying 1000 Notes from DoD.  I forgot about the voting,so I didn't get a chance to reflect my love of the song there and knock you up a few places, but it's still a sweet remix!

  4. Need Celtic/Irish VSTs ASAP

There's an ok uilleann pipe sound included with kontakt player default instruments. For a harp and dulcimer, you could try this: http://www.dskmusic.com/dsk-world-stringz/ For all these instruments though, you could try searching for free sfz libraries. I know I had a few on my old pc. Lots of people sample instruments like these for fun and put them up for free on music forums and such. You'll have to look around a bit to find decent ones though.
  5. Bearable Free Brass

http://www.dskmusic.com/dsk-brass/ only thing I can think of.
  6. Songs are up! 37 main entries and two alts! http://dwellingofduels.net/duels/16-12-80s-vs-90s/ If you happen to be at magfest, come to the listening party (Thursday midnight, panel room 4). Listening party will also be streamed on 8bitx. You can vote using the sliders on the duel page. Deadline for votes is January 7th, 4PM EST. Send the votes to dodsongs@gmail.com.
  7. Less than a week left to submit your entries! And we finally have a full banner now, as you can see in the first post. The awesome banner was done by Nate (FoxxDragon). If you want to download the hi-res version of the banner: http://dwellingofduels.net/dodarchive/16-12-80svs90s/16-12-80svs90s-HI.jpg 80s only: http://dwellingofduels.net/dodarchive/16-12-80svs90s/16-12-80svs90s-80s.png 90s only: http://dwellingofduels.net/dodarchive/16-12-80svs90s/16-12-80svs90s-90s.png
  8. Hello! As you may or may not know, MAGFest is happening soon, and just like every year for the past decade, we'll be having a special month over at Dwelling of Duels, with a live listening party at MAGFest! Exact details about the listening party to follow. The tradition is to pick a unique and interesting theme for the MAGFest duel, and this time it's... 80s vs 90s Month That's right, we're pitting two awesome decades against each other! Which had the better video games? Which had the better music? Which had the better video game music? All of these questions will be answered this month. Artists can chose either the 80s or the 90s, and remix songs from a game (or multiple games) released in that decade. Featuring games from both decades in a single entry is not allowed. Other than that, all standard rules apply: http://dwellingofduels.net/rules/ Now, what makes this duel special, other than the live listening party, you ask? Well, we're happy to announce a partnership with Impact Soundworks! Top 3 artists (or groups/bands) will each get one library out of the following: Super Audio Cart, Shreddage Bass 2, Shreddage Guitar or Shreddage Drums. Fun fact: Shreddage Bass 2 was recorded by the ocremix artist, bass virtuoso and the person with the most DoD gold medals, Tony Dickinson a.k.a. Prince uf Darkness! But wait, there's more: entrants will be able to get a 10% discount on all Impact Soundworks libraries! So, get your instruments ready, start making some music, and enter the duel! Deadline for submissions is January 3rd, 2017 at 1PM EST. Send your entries to dodsongs@gmail.com. If you come to MAGFest, be sure to drop by the listening party (80s or 90s fashion not required). We promise it's gonna be fun, as you can see in this video: For those not familiar with DoD: Dwelling of Duels is a monthly (or sometimes bi-monthly) video game music remixing competition started back in 2003. The focus is on live instruments: each entry needs to have a main instrument played live. A theme is picked for each duel and all the entries have to follow the theme. At the end of the month, listeners vote for the songs and a winner is decided. To this day, there have been: - 2778 entries, from - 1070 games, by - 714 artists, in - 154 duels, having - 167+ hours of music! http://dwellingofduels.net/
  9. Guys, I'm afraid I won't be able to contribute anything to this, but I'll leave some words of encouragement to everyone involved: You're dealing with the best soundtrack of all time. You better not fuck up. Good luck!
  10. PS1 20th anniversary album [CANCELLED :(]

Sorry for the lack of news, but I'm afraid the news I have are bad. After missing the first milestone (that is, the actual PS1 20th anniversary) I kinda lost the enthusiasm for this. Combining that with my complete lack of time, I think it's best to kill this project off so the songs that have already been accepted by the judges can be posted on the site. If the judges need mastered versions for any of the songs that are already accepted... well, it's better to contact the artist, because the wavs I have are all unmastered. Once again, sorry this album didn't work out Ivan
  11. OCR monetizing mixes on YouTube

Youtube ads aren't nearly as intrusive as shitty forum signatures.
  12. If it could, should OCR start compensating their staff?

    No, it shouldn't. The end.
  13. OCR monetizing mixes on YouTube

What legal liability is on the remixers? None. Any money being made is used to promote the music. It's not going into anyone's pocket. And that's the key thing.
  14. OCR monetizing mixes on YouTube

Here's the main question that everyone's avoiding: Why are you remixing video game music? Honestly, the only valid answer to this should be: to honor great melodies, games and composers, and to make people who also like those melodies, games or composers a bit happier, while learning new things about making music in the process. Sure, people may not always like what you're doing, but there are some people who will like it. And those few people who like it are what makes doing remixes worth it. So, if somebody is making a little bit of money off my music, which is then used to help my music get to more people who may like it, I won't have any problem with that. Nobody here except for ocremix itself should be concerned with any legal issues. Your songs won't disappear if ocremix gets shut down. Your songs are already on millions of computers all over the world. Drink some tea and stop bitching.
