  2. This thread is for posting and discussing VGM remixes and arrangements that aren't published by or found on OC ReMix. Basically if you find a cool remix on YouTube or something and feel like sharing it with folks in the community, this is the place to post it. A couple of ground rules before we get started: Video game music remixes and arrangements only. Add some comments about why you like the music you're posting. Don't post music without discussing the music other people post. We want to foster discussion here, not create a sterile feed of content. Don't post your own music in this thread; rules about artists posting their own music in Community still apply. Current and TBP ReMixers are allowed to create new threads for their own albums. Current and TPB ReMixers should post any singles in the Workshop. Non-posted artists should only post their albums and singles in the Workshop. Don't post links to unlicensed remixes that are being sold for profit. Hopefully this solves the issue of "I found a cool remix on YouTube and want to share it but it's not mine so it doesn't really make sense to post it in the Workshop but if I post it in Community it would look like I'm advertising and DarkeSword gets pissed about that stuff what is that guy's problem anyway he's such a jerk sometimes..." Anyway, get crackin' people. Show us some cool tunes.

    Zelda Metal Medley

I just finished my Zelda Metal Medley (featuring 9 songs) from the Zelda series. I also spent a while trying to make the video look as interesting as possible to go with the song.

  9. Thanks! It really does. The impulses are some "catharsis" ones. I think it was a fairly standard, Sm57 slightly off-axis setup.

  11. Just came across this. Ice Cap Zone is one of my favorite Sonic 3 tracks. I like the arrangement and the airy feel of the intro - it actually sounds chilly. However, you need to tone down the volume and EQ the bass and percussion. Way too heavy in comparison to other elements like the hi-frequency chip-tones. I like the breakdown at 1:29, but I think you should put something else in here, a fill of some sort. How are you for soloing on that keyboard? It would be a good place to rock out a bit and see what happens. I really like the way things come together at 2:13, this is where I hear the overall sound best, IMO. Too boomy at 1:03. How do you think the ending sounds? I think it sounds cut short, ending on the last note of the main rhythm. if that's what you're looking for, then go with it, but to me it does seemed chopped. As a first time producer, you should be proud of this. This is really good work, and I hope I see more from you. Cheers and play on!

  12. Here's the notes that apparently fell through the cracks (though the write-up is now quite funny): "This summer our family has been spotting flowers, which is what this song is about. The lyrics consist of a list of Finnish wild flowers. The arrangement was done together with Birgitta Susi, who sings. We picked some tunes we both liked from ilomilo as sources. She thought Esther might like hearing a child's voice in the song, so there's the daughter and me talking a bit about the flowers in the background." There was a bit in the call-out e-mail about reaching out to artists who weren't exactly obvious choices. I never figured I was one of them! I wouldn't say this was out of my comfort zone but I guess it's different from my previous submissions. Big part of course is that it was co-arranged with Birgitta; we are long-time collaborators. It's great to have the album out!
