  1. This is for a Twitter fan: She thought it was from OCR, and it was made sometime at or before 2005. Feel free to double-check our stuff, but it could have been from VGMix. Thanks for anyone that can help. EDIT: She says it's definitely not an OC ReMix, so VGMix or Newgrounds are the best bets to look at. Let's keep looking!
  2. zircon's right on how to pronounce McVaffe. He should be, because he got it from me, and I got it from Mike. Also halc is pronounced like Hal C. It's short for his old handle, halcyon. I've gotten that wrong before.
  3. T. Hawk! Definitely looking forward to this one.
  4. From Twitter: http://twitter.com/Kaznasty/statuses/4340429362 http://www.zshare.net/audio/66051019d40f30f4/ You guys know? Whoever answers correctly gets pimped, of course.
  5. This is a super low priority. We have lives and other stuff to work on, so I catch up on this when I have time. So, no, it's just me working on it. Later on, I'll catch up as I always do.
  6. January or February 2002 from a friend's recommendation.
  7. Definite Attendees: Tentative: ---------------------------
  8. Yo Joe, I'm really happy for you, even though you didn't finish... but Bound Together was one of the best projects of ALL TIME! One of the best projects of ALL TIME! [shrugs] [hands the mic back over] [/Kanye'd] (I'mma check it out, loved OA's track, so the rest will be strong.)
  9. I don't think it's a big deal. Using OC ReMixes as hold music is non-profit usage. Hell, if you want, I'll record a brief ID statement for you.
  10. Congrats, Karl! Now leave my lady alone! (Kik BGCzirckon.)
  11. You have to manually grab 'em, or get a torrent client like Vuze that can handle partial downloads. Also, try everything else. I made the same mistake you're making when I found the site.
  12. M is for Mega Man 1 & 2 and its composer Manami Matsumae
  13. Moot point. I'll bet a buck Dave does #2000. He did #1000, and OCR's his baby, so it makes sense. But for OC ReMix #2001 (A Space Odyssey), maybe this isn't a bad idea. EDIT: If someone somehow pulls off a successful Magnavox Odyssey mix, they win by default. I'll also settle for an Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee mix.
  14. Nope, not yet. We'll shoot for either OCR01950 or OCR02000 for that; I still need official album art to embed and Dave needs to check over the tags to make sure we're not missing anything he thinks should be there. But it'll happen down the line.
  15. Removed the lyrics from the sub letter. Mine are more accurate anyway and embedded in the file. If we're bumping up to the 8MB limit, we may want to hold off on a 6MB version. IMO, let's just judge what's in front of us and then worry about the encoding. And I realize it's a more pertinent issue than usual, but let's keep it moving. I always post subs over 6MB because we need to judge the music.
  16. No, the Vectorman ReMix made him realize the site was more diverse. We have ReMixes from over 550 games because they're not all from the super popular franchises. We've always been diverse, you just didn't pay attention. In other news, OC ReMix is completely biased toward or against trance, depending on who you ask.
  17. By removing your track link and doing all this needless dramarama, you're doing exactly what you claim you don't want to do, i.e. being butthurt and blowing shit out of proportion. Also, please do not invoke "All it takes is one little thing like this to reflect poorly on me and corrupt my standing with the judges". That's just you encountering the unknown and filling in the blanks with negative expectations. We do not care about your history when we vote. We don't care. We've voted on subs by people with confidence issues, we've voted on subs by people who've bashed the site and the staff, we've voted on subs by professional musicians, all with no problem making a fair call based on the music in front of us, not the person. If and when you resubmit this piece, I'm not gonna go "Well, this is normally a NO, but he was butthurt, so I pity him! YES (borderline)!" We're just listening to video game ReMixes and offering some criticism and advice on the Interweb, so let's have some perspective, please. I don't recall you wasting your energy on overthinking things when it came to resubmitting your Valkyrie Profile debut mix. AFAIK, the resub showed up in the inbox, you made some nice improvements, and it passed without a big deal. Stop making your head hurt by overhyping things and go make music. Relax and have fun.
  18. And also because he doesn't just do FIFO, like I often bring up. But an enthusiastic djp posting mixes rather than a one feeling the writeups are a chore means the site continues adding mixes. Let's keep the pretzel happy.
  19. Very awesome! I have pimped thee! http://twitter.com/ocremix/status/3841409035
  20. Original Name: 恋の実験室 Game: Rhythm Heaven, Nintendo DS, 2009 Composer: Tsunku This remix is my version of 恋の実験室 or “Laboratory of Love,” from the Rhythm Tengoku Gold soundtrack, better known as Rhythm Heaven in the US. The original song, by Japanese producer Tsunku, has no lyrics, so I thought it would be fun to create some of my own. I imagined the song being about a boy in love with his lab partner in science class, taking a cue from the game’s visuals. Aside from singing the melody (poorly), I’m also performing all six harmony parts. Music video here! http://www.viddler.com/explore/DaleNorth/videos/1/ ---------------------------------------------------------------- Short and sweet, I definitely love the track, and the vocals were solid per Dale's usual. Basically the main issue is that it's still too cover-ish; structure & tempo are basically 1-for-1, the instrumentation and overall feel are still pretty much like the original. So, I'm loving it, it's just outside the scope of the site. Cool stuff, and looking forward to your next sub, Dale. NO
