  1. I know I've only been here for a year or so, but would you be interested in collaborating with me to make it happen? I don't think I've ever seen you enter.
  2. Not the good type of jazz. Like, avant garde piano jazz.
  3. I have a pretty experimental jazz take on this one n the works.
  4. Please tell me you'll put Bamboo Moon up there soon. I've been scouring the webz to find a copy of it for a while.
  5. Hey Brad, I have a choral vocal training in the bass range. Unfortunately my mic sucks a lot.
  6. People are right to bash it. It was mastered and arranged poorly, so it got the beatdown it deserved. I have submitted to OLR, as is my normal process with pieces I feel are more of a travesty than a good thing. The funny thing is that more people voted in this compo than others where I've had much better entries. Hopefully this trend continues. Also, pretty much anyone can remix better than that. If I'm willing to put out that piece of crud as an entry, you (followers of PRC) shouldn't be afraid to do the same . It is, truthfully, all about the fun of competition regardless of whether you win or not. ToN: make that source tune kick copious amounts of ass.
  7. I suppose if I win PRC I should choose the Dragon Shrine theme as the source.
  8. Classic high frequencies from oldskool pretzel. It's a nifty little track that doesn't disappoint. Edo has never sounded so happy. I wish that the little interludes were led into a little more tactfully, but the shift halfway through doesn't bother me so much. It's at least worth a listen to those who haven't played the game.
  9. This is totally elevator music. The track could seriously be bolstered by a better and more expressive brass sample. The piano's slightly subpar humanization doesn't really bother me at all. Pads are used well in a way that really helps the mellow mood. A good relaxation track at the very least.
  10. Decent level of arrangement, but it doesn't really surpass the original in any aspect. The drums drive just enough to get the job done, so it's definitely one that I can listen to from start to finish without getting bored, but it is a little on the slow side for the choice of instruments in the latter half.
  11. Pretty bland on the whole. Not a huge fan of the very mechanical piano. Nice little basstype line is the only really interesting thing in the whole piece until 1:31, which would lose most listeners fairly quickly. For a song of it's genre, it's remarkably monotone and lowkey. The piece desperately needs some volume and velocity changes throughout.
  12. Well, it's pretty much a reimagining in style with not a lot of rearrangement, but I do like the latin flair that Mr. Pollard puts into the piece. There are some things that could easily be dropped from this, most notably the somewhat annoying 'record static'. I really like the more subdued percussion element. The horns, while weak, are serviceable enough and will most likely be everyone's biggest gripe about the piece.

  14. Blah. Probably not in for this one. Sorry Alex.
  15. God I agree with this list. Also, Little Big Adventure and Savage.
  16. Total Annihilation is one of the most overlooked masterpieces of this era. I really love The Dig's music. Pretty much everything done by Peter McConnell and Michael Land is worth listening to. Rock'N Roll Racing, Captain Tsubasa and Pop'n Twinbee are also relatively below the radar. We're Back! is not really a full soundtrack, but what little is there is catchy.
  17. What Rexy is trying to say is that a lot of people feel that DJP has shoehorned these competitions into a less important place in the community (I.E. not being able to bump the compo to the main page), not that he actually is 'anti-competition'.
  18. The drums have no 'crunch' and therefore sound very hollow. You need to layer with something that flesh/fill out that hollow sounding hit. I wish I didn't suck at production, otherwise I'd give you some tips.
  19. Big Giant Circles would definitely be a Cheerios clone. zyKo would be some sort of bannana flavored cereal with lots of potassium. CHz sounds like it would be packed with bran and healthiness.
  20. Hale-Bopp and Game Over + the upcoming Trenthian mix. Also http://olremix.org/remixes/431 , http://olremix.org/remixes/300 and http://olremix.org/remixes/572.
