  1. You gotta admit, though that Wily looks pretty damn funny with that mustache, head, and mouth of his. I don't mind if this is cheesy, because cheesy is good (and ain't easy), but as long as it's not Hero of Time 'total shit'.
  2. Someone really likes FFX. As for the above: Not too bad, but the dude's pose is a little bit stiff. The legs would PROBABLY be spread out a little more.
  3. Nice sketh, rel. I suck, but I've made a few sketches here and there. Here are me Metroid sketches, as Metroid is my all-time fav series: Made these a LONG time ago; haven't done a Metroid sketch in a while, even though I'd like to.
  4. "Let me out of here you... .... Witch!"
  5. OP is stating something that has been the case for like 200 years. Still, really funny video and a great medley.
  6. I think it's pretty inevitable we'd be getting a shorter experience this time around if only due to hardware. Though not like all games are just becoming 8-hour experiences these days... Fuck, there's too many games I want, and too few caches of money to pay for them. I'd like to have this, myself. I just hope it's as long as it can possibly be, and they don't pull a Spirit Tracks and make you travel across the world at a snail's pace (which won't happen... )
  7. Ask around for this thing called the Remixinator; it was pretty popular for a while and made a lot of cool free remixes.
  8. Well, Stravinsky DID say "good artists borrow. Great ones steal outright." And LOTS of old classical guys used folk tunes sometimes verbatim; like Bela Bartok, for one.
  9. It is that day you should have changed your name to "Even More Ashamed of Self."
  10. Sometimes a lot of songs I think up of are heavily based on some tune I heard from somewhere, whether it be church, another game, a TV Show.... However, I like to think at the very least after enough morphings and modulations, I can somewhat say that the finished product is my own.
  11. I love how on other forums I go to, the Nintendo fantards are practically seething with rage that such a game could be made -by Sony, obviously- that would dare insult their Zelda with such plaigarism. "Man, this just goes to show that Sony is full of fucking money-grubbers! First they steal the Wii, and now they try to steal Zelda?" "This game is such a rip-off. Looks like $ony ran out of ideas." It's pretty hilarious.
  12. It might be a nice touch, but I don't see a whole lot of point. Besides, if I heard a tagline stating "If they made a Wolfenstein movie and it didn't suck, this song would be in it!", I personally would shy away from said song. I dunno, something about the tone. Twitter might be a good idea...
  13. Last.fm's radio has often exposed me to a lot of good music in genres I wanted to explore more fully. If you want to get at the roots, I would first study up on the forerunners of ambient stuff, the early electronic/minimalistic music of the 20th century. A personal favorite of mine in that regard is Morton Feldman: Rothko Chapel As well, some of the music of the 'composer' John Cage may also fit the bill: Dream In a Landscape As it stands, I feel a lot of ambient music has its roots in the Eastern tradition of music, so if you want to look into that, I'd encourage you to do so. Where to start there? Well, that I'm not so sure. New Age music? Hm... You'd have to really look into the more folkish-esque music that started cropping up during the 60s or so, which indirectly led to the creation of the new types of music courtesy Terry Riley and La Monte Young.
  14. I thought, music-wise and gameplay wise, Order of Ecclesia trounced Portrait of Ruin in every conceivable way. Especially with the latter. So much that I've beaten Ecclesia at least 5+ times, most out of any Castlevania I've played (with Super CV IV coming in second place). Of course, my older bro really likes Portrait, but I personally cannot stand it for some reason. With the release of this track from the album, I have to ask: How is it that some tracks from an OCR album are put on the site, while others are not, while at the same time, the entire album is sponsored by OCR? I've always been curious as to that.
  15. So far, a good ol' bad start for the beloved Cubbies. One day, one day. Actually, if any of you want to listen to a great folk song, this pretty much sums up what it's like to be a Cubs fan: Do they still play the bluuuues in Chi-caaaagoooo
  16. There are too many great tracks in this game that I think are very much ignored at large, so I am glad to see it getting some love. This is a great track to a balls-hard final level (the single hardest level in the game), and the remix really makes it into something funky and cool. Now we just need a Star Zone remix!
  17. Yeah when I was younger, I wanted to make stuff like the Zelda Orchestrated Overture, and what-not.
  18. Yeah, good luck trying to take on Sho Minamoto's second form without having higher-than-average reflexes. I have a feeling I'll get Devil Survivor sometime down the line, and I do like the non-rushed nature of most turn-based-RPGs, even if they have ATB, like FFV and VI and so on.
  19. I heard mixed things about Strange Journey, but I AM interested in getting into the Shin Megami Tensei series. I think I might start with Devil Survivor, if I get the time and/or money. A few people from other forums I go to say "It's like if The World Ends with You was interesting."
  20. Most of my songs, when I make them, fall under the category "Wow, these sounded a helluva lot better in my head." Not all, but most. Though I just got myself a new software program, so I am excited to use it and see what i can get- things actually sound good thus far!
  21. Thanks, Geoffrey, for saying what needs to be said. I'd be happier if OCR had just allowed a bunch of shitty Cage-esque aletory remixes onto the site than this crap. The vocals in all tracks are uninspired to the point of being laughable. The remixes themselves are below quality for even the worst remixes on this site, and there are plenty of those. Really, great job guys. you really fucking suck.
  22. You know exactly what this is about. I feel like a hero in an Ayn Rand novel for Chrissake!
