  1. theres plenty man Type in 'Legend Of Zelda' in the game quick search on the left of the screen and you should find them there.
  2. Well, this one has taken me a bloody while, i've torn my hair out more than once with this one, but it is finally at a state where I think it is complete However, crits are welcome, god knows you'll all have some... you always do Waking The Fish (Trance Remix)
  3. Maybe (venturing worryingly into off topic again ) But I don't wish to change this one too drastically, not to mention I Intend this to be an ocr mix, not an album mix. I'll see. I have dabbled in ambient styles before, but I'm not changing the style of my ballad of the wind fish remix. I have an idea for a track I wish to take for the project, but I'll wait a little, get more important stuff done first.
  4. I agree, this is so good, i bet this is direct post material. But don't quote me on that But yes, submit this in some form, shortened, 2 part, compressed to fit under the limit, ANYTHING, This NEEDS to be on ocr.
  5. Yeh electronic isn't a stylistic choice, I can write/remix in rock and classical styles (although, reasons classical samples aren't the best ever - I'll need to experiment with that ) Yes, this is VERY off topic, lets get back to WIP crits
  6. I wouldn't feel awkward about it Any crits are well recieved, and don't compare your crits to others in a negative light. For all we know, rozo is one of those people that really doesn't have a clue what he is talking about Ok, maybe not , but still, your crits there seem valid. I'll update it, and say what I have changed. If i've updated anything that you mentioned, then be sure that you are giving at the very least decent advice. By the way, thanks for the crits. They do seem to differ with rozo's crits, which influenced this new version to an extent, but that doesn't mean your wrong. For the kick crit, I'm not fairing well with this bass kick, its either not pronounced enough and too bassy, or not the tone i'm looking for (if you follow) as for the leads - the old lead was meant to blend in with the background - it created some cool harmonies and a wicked soundscape, but because the lead was more of a pad, like rozo said, I changed it, mainly because if it is subbed in that form, that would be a major judge crit, I am sure. Maybe having a less distorted screamy lead, with the old lead playing with at the same time is the answer. A piano maybe. I'll try that. Anyway, won't update for a short while. Uni rears its ugly head and I have work to do Keep an eye out for an update tho Yes to both questions. All my synth work is done in reason I'm intending to do a rock audition for the links awakening project, but I don't have the time at the moment. I would audition this, but its not the correct style. GRR.
  7. Ok this is something I have been working on for a while now Fair amount of changes, new lead sound, better kick drum etc... What do people think? Click here to listen!
  8. I'll admit as well that I enjoyed sonic heroes. However, it was a HUGE disappointment, like darkesword said, bad controls, camera etc, but the team based action is what let it down in my opinion the most as it slowed down the game play having to switch team members every 5 secs. However, the game did have its merits. The game was fun, and it was fun using characters different abilities as well. Not to mention team chaotic was a fun team to play as with the different mission objectives. team dark and rose however were completely unnecessary imo. I think that overall however, sonic has run its course. They should stop making sonic games before the reputation of the games are completely tarnished (which to be honest, has already happened) If the article in this thread is accurate, then they shouldn't be making new rushed games to meet demand, as soon enough, the great 2D sonic games of old will be over shadowed and forgotten in favor of the newer sonic games.
  9. Whats wrong with those names? Who cares about names anyway, its about the music. If your going to let something as trivial as a title of a piece of music put you off, then your going to miss out on a lot of great music.
  10. A project for my favorite game Sadly, I am not great at the styles of music available to remix in here, altho I have done a few rock tracks. If I have the time, I'll try and audition for this project
  11. Ok, I don't think this is OCR worthy, because it is a remix, and not a arrangment But hey, I have seen a few close to source remixes on the site, so it may be worth a shot with production and arrangement tweaks. Any thoughts? Jacky Theme Remix And The Source:
  12. Congrats to sir nuts Looking forward to the next ORC
  13. Actually, its is a different song with the same name. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4b8ORLS3zc Not as good as the links awakening one imho
  14. Cutman's theme seems to be one of those tracks that you should only attempt in certain styles. When I saw it was called Cutman Sonata, I was cautious, but McVaffe has a way of making you enjoy things you wouldn't expect to. I actually think it is funny just how good this is. McVaffe has taken something fast-paced and energetic, and turned it into an sonata. And it works beautifully. This track for me is a statement to what OCR are about. Take a remix, and give it your own personal flair. No other remix does that quite as well as this one. Not sure if I can give any higher praise than that. One of the best mixes on the site that I have heard thus far.
  15. Well, I like this one, production is great, and the source is obvious. Not so sure about the arrangement at the moment, it seems very repetitive, and gets boring as a result. It certainly is great tho. Production I don't think is a problem, but more variation in the source, and less of the building up and breaking down parts at the beginning and end, and I would be won over
  16. Well, thats awesome. Sick intro, I love it. Not sure about that trumpet sample tho, sounds a little tinny. I'll wait and see what the others say
  17. PLEASE tell me you are joking. They are the most important band in rock history Anyway, um... not heard of any new bands recently, but the most recent has to be lion, and I now have their entire discography.
  18. A lot better than I remember it being, which is a good thing Your biggest problem here is the drums I reckon. They have no presence in the track, no punch whatsoever, and that snare sounds horrible You need to bring out the bass frequencies in the bass drum, and I would suggest a different snare altogether, the one you have is way too high pitched imo, like rozo says, it sounds like white noise. what is that drum that starts to rise in volume at 1.25? sounds horrible imo, get rid of it completely. I like the bass sequencing, and the frequency automation is a nice touch as well. The track sounds muddy still tho, like every track is fighting for attention. I'm not liking sample choices, they sound a little low quality at the moment. carry on with the EQ until every instrument sounds defined and clear. I think there is too much treble, your track has back end, but its not as defined as it should be imo. I'm liking the arrangement tho, its the production you need to work on i think.
  19. Thats cool dude, more people should be able to here it now
  20. Pretty much this thread topic summed up in one word He's gunna get OWNED
  21. Nah, the source tune, the original Nes music. sometimes they are on youtube - no such luck here. Yikes, that was a while ago not to mention a very precise date Yeah, like I said, too close to the original and OCR won't have it, they accept arrangements, not remixes Some people don't like the site for that reason, some think that we mess with the source too much
