  1. My other track also has acoustic guitar in it. I think I'm gonna try to do it myself, but let me know if you found somebody because I might need his/her services too
  2. Interesting, definitely on my watch list and potentially a wip later this year.
  3. Not gonna claim anything because of no connection with Star Fox whatsoever, but happy to provide some arrangement assistance or track feedback in case anyone needs it.
  4. Hey, spell my nick correctly, plz In all seriousness, Aaron is great to work with and delivers, it's so well done that basically you just have to drag it into your project. Highly recommended!
  5. I was happy to help out with Faseeh's track, and I bet you're all gonna like it As for the deadline... great push towards the deadline, guys! Thanks a lot for all the excellent tracks you've been working on, I think the album is great The next few days we'll finish off the package (doing stuff like tagging, converting to mp3, finalizing the back covers and writing the final album comments) and send it to OCR for approval and release.
  6. My schedule is slowly clearing up. I'll keep an eye out for this and may be able to join in at the last moment, depending in when it'll start.
  7. Quite a bit of activity the past few days, so I thought it'd be good to share some updates. The tracks by DusK, Tuberz McGee and Jorito (yep, me) are basically fully done (if we all can get over the never ending last nitpicks we obsess over ) So that's 3 tracks that I would consider finished. Furthermore, Audiocolor updated his track and it's also very near final. Same goes for WillRock. Chernabogue is waiting for recordings of his army of guitarists, bassists and sax players and by the looks of it he'll be in time for the deadline. KingTiger received his guitar recordings too, and also things have settled down for him somewhat so that he can get his track in better shape. We're still waiting to hear back from @zykO, @Lucasonic and @Bowlerhat, hope their tracks are still on schedule and going well
  8. I'm not familiar with the source but this sounds promising. I like the orchestral part in the middle, works pretty good. For me, the ending was a bit abrupt, guess I like to be eased into it more. Overall I'd say the track flows well and kept me interested despite me not being a full on dubstep fan. My biggest remark would be that the snare sounds pretty dull and I'd appreciate some more snap in it.
  9. YoshiBlade reached out to me about a month ago with his spooky album concept and asked me if I could join. 'Unfortunately' I was tied up in holidays and some album co directing so I couldn't make it. Pity since I had a cool track for it, but it's great to see it released nonetheless! I had the privilege of listening to quite a few of the tracks (I remember the Protodome track from our Remixing With The Stars team up), and it's a spooky, eerie set of tracks for sure that will go along well with any Halloween. Gotta check out the voice acting though, after "The Old Mansion by the Road" I can handle some more
  10. I dig the style and the overall mood of this track. Cheesy haunted 50s vocals, check. Synthwave to the max, check. Epic guitar solo, check. In a word: awesome stuff, and a great collab. Didn't know the original game or source, but I guess learning new VGM is part of being part of the OCR community
  11. In other news, as a co-director I have had the privilege to listen to a lot of the tracks already (I was actually adding director comments today), and I must say it's gonna be a pretty darn cool album! So don't disappoint Black_Doom and me and all the Sonic lovers out there and make sure you finish in time because it'd be a shame to miss out!
  12. It was worth the wait though! Did some work on it tonight and with a bit of polish it's gonna be a fab (and slightly eggcentric) album opener! (See what I did there? An intentional Sonc inspired pun!)
  13. When do you plan to submit? If time allows I'd like to take another look at the mix and see if I can improve it.
  14. Also good to know that this deadline extension will be minimal (more like days rather than weeks). We really want to get this album out of the door
  15. There's 1 week to go for the final deadline, and we've seen quite a bit of progress towards finishing the album. We've received a cool new WIP from WillRock, near finished versions of the tracks from Eino Keskitalo, Tuberz McGee and Sterlyng Powell and some good progress on my own title theme remix. We expect to see plenty of updates in the coming few days, so keep 'em coming! Also a friendly reminder to send in some track notes and sign the consent form when you submit your final mix. Looking forward to your final submissions and (hopefully soon) a release of a great new album!
  16. Unfortunately the PS1 tribute album project got cancelled, but fortunately that also means I don't have to sit on the tracks I made for it anymore So I just released my remix of Suikoden 2's song "Reminiscence". Great track for the feelz and I'm very grateful to the collaborators I worked with to make it shine. Without further ado, here it is. Enjoy!
  17. Okay, put me down for 'A curious happening'. Won't have something for the November 1st deadline because of other album obligations, but January should be fine.
  18. Aw, drats, just when I was checking out the unclaimed tracks to see if there was anything that got me inspired (found 'A Curious Happening' to be pretty inspiring tbh!).
  19. So I'm trying to finish the Sonic 1 title/invincibility remix I'm making for the album. Because the 'Sega' voice intro is so prominent, I decided to add it, but give it my own spin. I thought it'd be cool to have multiple voices 'sing' this part to achieve a kind of choir effect in stead of just me and my bad singing voice. Here's a preview: http://www.jorito.net/files/sega/sega_full.mp3 So... anyone around willing & able to record his/her voice for a Sega choir like intro? You can find the 4 stems here: http://www.jorito.net/files/sega/.
  20. Just stumbled upon it (again) on my Soundcloud playlist, sounding pretty good (especially for just 2 hours of work)
  21. Sad to see it go because I liked the concept, but it's better to kill it off than leave it on life support indefinitely and wait for stuff to happen. Thanks for the initiative Ivan, at least we got some new remixes out of it
  22. Okay, I'll bite... here's my humble studio. Since most of the stuff is in software you hardly see anything. If you want specs: retina iMac 2014, Akai Advance 61 controller, JBL LSR305 monitors, Beyerdynamic DT880 headphones, Komplete Audio 6 interface and a Samson C03 mic. On the right you see the neck of my Pacifica 611 that I'm still learning to play.
  23. I started learning the guitar beginning of this year and typically a lot of these things go away with (proper) practice, practice, practice. I myself am following the beginners course on justinguitar.com. It's a free course with instruction videos for every lesson and great practice schedules and starts you all the way from the beginning. I heavily recommend that course as it'll teach you the proper techniques and the common pitfalls and how to solve them.
  24. In case you didn't know, Brandon Strader has been banned from the forums permanently and won't be able to get notifications of your mentions or respond. See link below for more info. Whether or not that means he can/will still contribute, I don't know.
