Geoffrey Taucer Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Ok, just finished listening to the most annoying song ever all the way through, without skipping through any of it. I genuinely enjoyed it, except for the final minute and a half. Quote
JH Sounds Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 They also made the Most Wanted Song if you would like to contrast your tastes.http://ubu.artmob.ca/sound/komar_melamid/KomarMelamid_The-Most-Wanted-Song.mp3 I think most people hate it more than the other. That reminded me of this. Quote
CHz Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 This sounds like the ideal contestant for Song of The Week. I will edit the rules just to make this eligible. Quote
tweex Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 "Do all your shopping....at WALMART!!!!" I love those kids!! "Lots of praying with no breakfast" Classic!!! Quote
Hausdog Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 I've already seen this... it's interesting. It IS really annoying... but they could have been even worse by just making it a nonstop nightmare, mixed with the kids and bagpipes. The annoying part about the bagpipe section isn't the actual bagpipes, but instead the total dissonant, wall-of-sound-y package. It's amazing how full cymbals make a song sound. Quote
Aninymouse Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 I only cringed when the lady on the loudspeaker came on and WOULDN'T SHUT UP. Still, I kinda liked it. Well, mostly. Quote
Less Ashamed Of Self Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 I can't wait to hear it in it's entirety. Quote

Only listened to half the "Unwanted" song, but this "most wanted" one is FAR worse. Every part of it is just awful!! That reminded me of this. MUCH better than either of those. I don't even know what's so funny about that skit, but the song is quite enjoyable. Clearly some part of their experiment has failed... Quote
noTuX Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 It sounds better than 90% of what I hear on the radio these days Amen...... Quote
Dhsu Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 I was far more bored than annoyed, to be honest... That's what's brilliant about it...even the length is annoying. I really think if a famous modern composer had made this, it would be hailed as a revolutionary and innovative work of art. Sheesh, it still might. I will edit the rules just to make this eligible. Then I nominate it for the next 3 weeks in a row. Quote
Monobrow Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 I wasn't annoyed at all... What is wrong with me Quote
the_muteKi Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 The Most Wanted Song sounds suspiciously like I Am the Wind (CV:SOTN) or You're My Hero (Sonic 3D Saturn/PC). What's more is that in the latter case I haven't heard anything good about the latter, at least. Quote
WarpstarRider Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Someone needs to make an "opera rap" CD. Quote
I-n-j-i-n Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 It doesn't have that intensely annoying 'wannabe' factor of many of the radio pop and rap hits nowadays. Those are VERY annoying and they sometimes made me physically ill. Quote
JCvgluvr Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 The annoying song is doing exactly what it should: annoying me. I can't stand the opera with organ screeching behind it...yech! I'm closing it now. The wanted song isn't any better, and the "love" song is meh. I'm tired, and need to go to bed. Quote
the_muteKi Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Labor Day! Labor Day! Schools are closed and pools are open! See what I like about this song is that even despite the manner of its development it actually doesn't feel lame or contrived and it has some honestly brilliant moments. I just wish it hadn't ended on an upbeat note. Something like A#dim7+11 would have been a much better choice considering the nature of the tune. The wanted song just feels lame and contrived, and, like a lot of music, rather than appeal strongly to anyone, just tries to feel mostly inoffensive, and thus utterly ignorable. I'd love the lyrics to either, or better, both. Quote

Haha, this is so bad. I can't discern the gender of the first singer, and the second one sounds like Dale North's creepy old Japanese man voice. I think they might actually just be the composers. Red Shadow Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 I wasn't annoyed at all... What is wrong with me Because you like Earthbound and Shnabubula just like me. Show this to sam, actually. I also love The Neverhood. Quote
chumble spuzz Posted April 19, 2008 Author Posted April 19, 2008 Wow, most wanted song, huh? In three words: Do not want. Actually, now that I think about it, the "most wanted" song has many things in it that I find annoying. :\ Romantic-mood-type sax solos are a big one. Also, the fact that it's a sappy love song. Since when were those desirable? Quote
Antipode Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 God that most wanted song is filled with so many elements that just don't fit together. Probably unavoidable since it's pretty much just a mashup of those certain elements they found to be successful. Quote
Liontamer Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Awesome song!@ [21:56] <@CHz> Barbie Super Model Do All Your Shopping at Wal-Mart OC ReMix Quote
prophetik music Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 i'm looking forward to listening to this song. later tonight... Quote
Foxhull Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Wow. Just wow. This song rocks. I love it to pieces, especially the Wal-mart, Opera rap, and the "rocket whore" parts. It's hilarious. This must be the song that Tenacious D was singing about... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcJwz7wu8_s Quote
