Dinobot 2 Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 Thank god for more TMNT mixes. Theres so much potential for remixing them. This mix is a great one to use from Level 1 I believe. Very much like the original but suped up. Nice Work! Quote
Trenthian Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 this one brought back some real fun memories Quote
Majin GeoDooD Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 Wow.. I'm lovin the bass in this, can't recall if that's from the original, or Mazedude's own working, but whatever it is.. nice.. Really groovy mix from a classic game. Quote
Baldrash Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 As far as I can tell, the bassline is Mazedude's own work. Man... I must've played this game through about 50 times when I was a wee lad. One thing that never got old was the music. This does the original justice. Well done, Mazedude. Well worth the download. Quote
Oddity Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 More Mazedude like this! I mainly came here to say....WHERE HAVE I HEARD THIS BEFORE????? I know I have heard this melody before, and I'm pretty sure I've never played the game, and it feels like I've known this song for a long time. Is this song anywhere else in the world? Perhaps another mix I might have heard? Quote
lazygecko Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 Holy shit, this sounds just like Jazz Jackrabbit 2. Quote
Nase Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 wow. that NES stuff was before my time, but it just sounds as bouncy and awesome as the turtles in time soundtrack. must be the same composer? anyway, truly great synths used here. Quote
Arai Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 I loved playing this game as a child. I think you did a great job taking the original and making it your own Quote
Plumber in Paradise Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 Whoa Jazz Jackrabbit was the shit... Anyway, this remix definitely makes me want to wear a colorful, holey bandana and dance. Too bad I can't dance... The bass in this is hot, and the brass shots attack you(in a good way). And I must say that the constant modulation of the melody and chords are superbly done. Quote
Julio Jose Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 doode, this sounds like Ninja turts to the end. Sooooooo cool. I like the waving synth, goes really well with the picture hahaha. Coool stuff. The drums get really technical and cool 1 05 after an amazing sequence of instruments. Coolio Quote
FiZBaN Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 Hopefully Maze does more Turtle Remixes in the Future........preferably from TMNT 2.....this definitly rocks.... Quote
Coucou Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 ' sounds like a masterpiece to me. -Excellent slapped bass -Excellent synth solo @1'20 -The arpeggios do the "game style" (reminds me my good-old-C64-games) -various excellent breaks -The entire tune is soooooooooo groovy that I can't prevent myself to dance, move my body, clap my hands and disturb my neighb'rs shouting more than singing! Let me say "excellent stuff !". Quote
Christopher Blue Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 More Mazedude like this!I mainly came here to say....WHERE HAVE I HEARD THIS BEFORE????? Perhaps another mix I might have heard? It kinda reminds me of "Angel Island Zone" from Sonic 3. The first level btw. maybe you lived next to me and heard it because when I was a kid, this and megaman were all I played. I dont know if my weakness for nostalgia has anything to do with it, but I love this remix. 10/10 as far as Im concernced Quote
rentokil Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 I know where I've heard it before, at least alot of the samples and the overall groove in the tune: Nine One One by Jeroen Tel But this was not at all meant to dis I really liked the tune! Brought me back to the happy FastTracker II days, obviously because it reminded of the tune mentioned above. Nice work! Quote
Mazedude Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 Take a sec a read the description on www.mazedude.com guys - this track is supposed to be a direct mimic and homage to Jeroen Tel, aka "Wave". Why do ya think I called it Turtle "Wave", hmm? -Mazedude Quote
fisherman Posted March 27, 2004 Posted March 27, 2004 Tight. Tight like... I can't think of an analogy suitable for describint it. This game actually frustrated me to no end when I was a kid, but I too give this one top-notch ratings. Quote
Protricity Posted March 27, 2004 Posted March 27, 2004 wow, someone finally remixed this, and it ended up being mazedude. Nice combo. Good job. Quote
Paladin-01 Posted March 28, 2004 Posted March 28, 2004 Its amazing. I used to play the game as a child, and this is a brilliant update. Love the voice samples. Quote
Less Ashamed Of Self Posted July 13, 2004 Posted July 13, 2004 Very fun and flavourful mix. Definitely doesn't sound amature... good show. Quote
Lacour Posted July 13, 2004 Posted July 13, 2004 very good flow of music...very upbeat, well done. Quote
The Orichalcon Posted November 3, 2004 Posted November 3, 2004 Just love your work Mazedude. This is no different, in fact, I put it as your best remix on this site (Which is saying a lot considering how good your other mixes are.) Quote
playingtokrush Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 This song is so good that it kicked me in the balls so hard that it turned my balls into a vagina. Mazedude, would you ever marry a man with a vagina? Quote
Tex Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 This is indeed an unique stuff, like Mazedude's music. He captured the essence of a slap bass. Those elements proposed are pure fun. The brass did a too satisfactory justice. Very good instrumentation. Very cool ideas. Great and nice stuff. Quote
