Black Mage Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 All this has me thinking about buying DKC2 for SNES. How does it compare to DKC1? Quote
Crulex Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 All this has me thinking about buying DKC2 for SNES. How does it compare to DKC1? Better music, better gameplay, better storyline (kinda), better levels and more interesting end bosses. Aside from the graphics (I think they were the same), it was better than DKC1 IMO. Quote
Palpable Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Musically, I think I prefer the first one, but DKC2 is definitely a better game. There's more variety of gameplay, more difference between the two characters you control, more for completionists. Quote
duskvstweak Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Stoked doesn't begin to describe what I am feeling. Quote
Jenz Drake Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Can't wait for the party! Thanks for the info Stevo! Quote
The Mutericator Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 All this has me thinking about buying DKC2 for SNES. How does it compare to DKC1? The definitive DKC experience. Not to say DKC1 is bad, not by a long shot, but DKC2 takes everything and cranks it up a notch. The peak of Rareware platforming - perhaps the only flaw is that there are too many different kinds of things to collect, and even that's easy to get your head around. Quote
liquid wind Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 DKC2 is IMO the best platformer game ever, there are no adjectives that properly describe how good it is Quote
Murmeli Walan Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 In celebration of today's release (and because of recent comments about the game), I'm gonna cross DKC2 off of my list of games that I own but never got around to playing. Quote
Dunther Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Aside from the graphics (I think they were the same). Not really, the DKC2's graphics are more detailed for what I remember. Better (and more diversified) backgrounds, more characters, more characters animations and so on... Even if someone can dislike its pirate style, I think is really inspired and fully integrated with the DKC universe. Have I talked about the gameplay? Have I talked about the MUSIC? I just love this game. Quote
Level 99 Posted March 15, 2010 Author Posted March 15, 2010 So apparently, #ocad is registered at ETG and i can up the user cap. We'll have it in #ocad this saturday, NOT #ocremix Quote
The Mutericator Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 DKC2 is IMO the best platformer game ever, there are no adjectives that properly describe how good it is I wouldn't go THAT far. Yoshi's Island still holds that place in my heart, anyways. Quote
Lord Exor Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 I wouldn't go THAT far. Yoshi's Island still holds that place in my heart, anyways. It'd be hard for me to choose between the two. They're both my favorite all-time games. Quote
Invader_Quirk Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 DKC2 is probably a better game than DKC, but I prefer the original because I like the mundane enemies better than the pirate ones. Also, in DKC and you can pretty much just hold right on the d-pad through the whole game and jump at the right moments. Quote

Invader_Quirk Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 In those, you don't even need to jump. >.< Taking a leap of faith and landing perfectly on a Necky is one of the little joys in life. Quote
Dunther Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 in DKC and you can pretty much just hold right on the d-pad through the whole game and jump at the right moments. Yeah I remember that too... Quote
The Mutericator Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 http://dkc2.ocremix.org/ - the 403 forbidden error means that's the main site. If you absolutely want the extra seconds it would take to find the link to it, well, there you go. Quote
M4x0rz Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 dkc2:dkq is pretty much the best game on the snes. can't wait for the ocremix album Quote
