NiGHTS into dreams... 'Merry Little Christmas'

This is a very light, very Christmassy piece. It’s too bad its late spring, because I’m sure I could give this a much better review on December 24th. But I will say that it does put me in the mood for some eggnog, regardless of what time of year it is. Excellent work, Dale North, keep it up.

Dale North is another master ReMixer, IMHO. Too bad I haven't seen anything new from him in a while (as of this date).

Anyways, North took a great song from a great soundtrack and did a great job of adapting it to the touchy-feely Christmas-lovey-dovey genre (as if the original wasn't schmalzy enough!). Top-notch sound quality as usual. Excellent seasonal music.

This song truly touches me... It's a gorgeous song, and inspires these really beautiful Christmasy feelings. Hey, it's a Christmasy song, why not? Ah, brings back so many memories and makes my heart ache, brings tears to my eyes, and makes me want to go out and drink egg nog with the family all at the same time. I dunno, maybe it's just me, but I just love Christmas to that point and this song just makes me remember so many things about old Christmases. DOWNLOAD IT NOW. 10 out of 10.

Yes. This is the sort of Remix that you can just fall dead-asleep on. How it opens up and all that...very nice, and masterful. Then this strange horn starts to blowin' (if that IS a horn, maybe a strange violin? I don't know my instuments very well), and that sort of takes the softer meleody away. But at least it keeps the remix from becoming a little less repetitive. This is one that everyone should download because, well, everybody could use a little R&R every once in a while, and this is the way to go. Play it quietly...through headphones...at night....

Final verdict... MY SCORE-- 8.5/10

This was the first song I downloaded from this site and it is one of my fav songs of all time! It is a very beautiful song with it's warm and cheery christmas feel. When it breaks from the christmas to the nights theme you are once again reminded that this is a video game song and that even a video game can make a masterpiece of it's music.

I give it 5 thumbs up

Hehe, you know, I actually hesitated downloading this reMix for a while because it wasnt Christmas time yet. Im glad I downloaded it now thou. Its got the Christmas beat everyone loves. Its a song you could easily imagine yourself drinking hot cocoa too on a Christmas Night, in front of a fire next to a loved one ^_^. Awesome song!

I loved this song. The beginning piano fits the mood perfectly, with perfect chords, then a woodwind instrument (not fond of the woodwind family, maybe a clarinet or oboe?) comes in to take a little of the melody. Oh and I also love how at the end he mixes it with a traditional Christmas song (which I also can't pinpoint in my mind right now). If you want a yule-tide remix, this is the one to get.

On my trip through 1-1000, when I hit this piece I knew exactly who wrote it due to his fanaticism about x-mas music and video game remixes.

Once again, even being a non-Christmas keeping kinda guy, I always really enjoy these mixes. This one is very much a distinct rift between the video game theme and the "Merry Little Christmas" theme. That being said, it's some real smooth stuff. Early on the violin melody floating above the other accompaniment struck me instantly as a trumpet, and when I finally realized it was a violin, I found myself wishing it WERE a trumpet. Ah, samples in 2001 aren't what they've become!

Then near the end with the slow wind down with a one-note piano melody playing the lead and the e. piano playing backup ... that is just so relaxing. Another great piece by Dale, and an oldie too! Glad I came across it.

Even as a curmudgeony old non-Christmas guy.

Someday I'm going to meet Dale North and give him a super enthusiastic high five, followed by a kind of awkward silence.

The intro to this is beautiful. I love the piano sound, I love the backing strings, I love the percussive touches. I love the delicate nuances throughout. This is basically the perfect ballad sound for me, and one of my favorite mixes by Dale. It's inspired me (though probably not that obviously) in a lot of my own music, and I could (and have) listen to this track for hours on end.

Absolutely love it.
