Liontamer Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 I put this on the panel quickly. The panel judged this quickly. djp posted this quickly. After "Time Management", we owed it to you. Merry Christmas, Eliot! Quote
Dark Phazon Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Time Management was one of the first mixes I ever downloaded from here, and I always wanted to hear some more from E-Bison. Now I have, and I am happy. I loved the WIP version mentioned from when he first returned a little while ago, and now the same for this final version. Great stuff! Quote
cobaltstarfire Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 This is rather cool sounding, very interesting, and fun to track all the noises involved in it. Considering all the sounds used here, the song doesn't really feel cluttered or anything, it just works. (May induce some ear bleeding too, but it's worth atleast one or two attentive listens). Quote
DarkCecil13 Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 One of my favorite ReMixes on the site. You know what? Do yourself a favor and download this. E-Bison, awesome job man. I love it. Quote
ArchaicTimeFrog Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 I could easily see someone doing The Robot to this song. Heh, like Kefka. I've listened to this song 3 times, and I have yet to hear the Kefka quote. Very fun song, Time Management is one of my favorite songs on the site. Quote
Red Shadow Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Oh man. DID I FRIGGIN PREDICT THIS OR WHAT What I posted in his WIP thread: This is going to make it onto OCR.And Skrypnyk is going to be so pissed Anyway, awesome. Quote
DragonAvenger Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Glad Bison came back. It was worth it! Awesome stuff. Quote
avaris Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Awesome, this is something u don't friggin everyday. I've listened to this tons of times and I always notice something new everytime. Quote
Bobwillis Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 interesting not quite as interesting as CidInTheFactoryGaffeizil, but solid nonetheless Quote
Thin Crust Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 to be perfectly honest, this remix isn't my style, but for all of you that are into this kind of stuff, you will love it. It is kind of homogeneous in the sense that is same throughout the whole mix with an exception that it gets toned down, then finishes with the sound of a motor being fired up from idle. Quote
Turraken Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Love this mix. The industrial sound really works, as if dozens of machines running at the same really would sound like this. Least the Espers would've had something interesting to listen to Quote
Scott Scheule Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 It takes a delicate touch to make so much undignified noise sound good--or, as is the case here--fucking great. Quote
ktriton Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Sounds like "Robots vs. the Bullshit Samurai" on crack Can't wait to hear more from you, dude! Congrats on a great mix! Quote
ILLiterate Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Bitchin tune since the WIP page, glad to see it here Quote
Robotaki Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 "How It's Made" Damn right. Haha. Sickass song. Quote
Flaillen Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 This song made my ears pop, and made me dizzy. Though that's probably just me being ill... Anyway, this is a fantastic industrial song. I think it's the best version of Devil's Lab so far. Quote
Villainelle Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Fantastic. Arrangement adheres closely to the original, but the incredible palette of sounds used is stunning. The intro, breaks and transitions are masterful. Dirty noise mixes haven't sounded this good in a while. Kudos! Quote
E-Bison Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Thanks for the comments and kind words. I appreciate it. I'm glad you guys enjoy the track. E-Bison Quote
TheRedBob Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 I'm a sucker for industrial, and this is some of the best industrial I've heard. You made my day with this. Quote
siven7 Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Well played, Eliot - awesome samples, complex beats, great production... wicked as usual. I also really dug the hints of Kefka in there! (Unless I'm totally crazy, but it sounded like there were!) I hope Montreal is treating you amazingly, if you get back in Winnipeg, send me a note! Happy Holidays! Kenley Quote
oakthielbar Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 In spite of how awesome this is, I have very little to say. Download it. Quote
Fishy Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Wow, striaght away I'm amazed at the depth of arrangement of all those industrial sounds. The layering here is exceptional. I'm glad to see that you haven't let the incorperated sounds interfere with a decent arrangment aswell. Much love to the original track. Those power ups and downs are such an awesome touch, they really give the feel of a break down and a rebuild. Synth work is great aswell, some great textures you've created there. Highly Recommended. Mustin Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 The arrangement is rad and the concept is jawsome and well executed. But the fact that you changed the bass line really didn't blow my skirt up. The rad chromaticness of the original bass line is what made it so fat. You went the full step instead of using more of the half-steps to keep it that funky, phat bass line. I'm all for changing notes and chords that please my ear more, so I don't discredit. I'm just bummed, because if the bass had been more true to the original, I would have loved this instead of just liked it. Glad to see you back, though. I love your work. Quote
